The sanding discs stick well to my DA, stay put while I’m working, and do exactly what they’re supposed to do.Do they load up a little quickly? Yeah, maybe a little. But honestly, nothing worse than most other sandpaper I’ve used.For the price, it’s hard to complain. You get a ton of useful grits and everything you need to work your way through a sanding and polishing job without buying everything separately. Good little all-in-one kit.

Good discs with good performance and the pack includes every grit you might need for a perfect finish. I used these to finish some Cornhole boards up to 800 grit after the poly. They held up well, the lower grits load faster but I feel like I can still get some use out of them for another project. The backing is secure and holds well on my disc sander. These are non-hole discs so keep that in mind if you have a vacuum sander. Overall good value for the 50 pack of mixed grits.

A great assortment. Hook and loop allows quick swaps when working up through the grits and is robust enough for multiple uses and still holds well.My first use for them was on a utility van that I had to paint. I used farm implement paint and a roller, but still wanted it to look as good as possible and these were a big help in achieving that. Power tools save me from a tendinitis flare up from hand sanding and these made for quick prep work and a great result.A generous amount at a good price.I'm very happy, and they last well so I'm ready for the next project.

For the price, this sandpaper performs very well. The abrasive stays securely bonded to the paper during normal use, although I did notice that the grit can come off when the sandpaper is folded tightly to reach corners or other difficult areas.I also found that the abrasive doesn't load up as quickly when used for wet sanding, which helped maintain its effectiveness for a longer period. The hook-and-loop backing works well and securely attaches the sandpaper to my sander. I didn't have any issues with the discs coming loose during use.Overall, I've been satisfied with the performance of this sandpaper. It has good abrasive retention under normal use, stays securely attached to the sander, and provides good performance, especially considering the price.

For the current sale price of around $17, this seems like a pretty good deal. That comes out to about $0.34 each, which is hard to beat for a pack of 50. They feel well made and the backing seems sturdy, not flimsy like some other brands I've tried. The variety makes it easy to find the right one for more finer detailed jobs. If you go through these often or just need a decent supply on hand, this pack should last a while and cover most of your needs.

So, I ordered this set 50 wet and dry sanding discs with hook and loop backing thinking that I already owned the backing pad that would make it possible to use with one of my grinders. I was wrong. Not one of my three grinders came with an attachment that would turn my grinder into a sander.So, turning to Amazon Prime once again, I ordered the 5" hook and loop backing pad which also comes with an arbor that allows the backing pad and these sanding discs toto be used with a variable speed drill. The 50 discs consist of 5 grits. You get 10 discs of each grit. These discs together with my new backing pad attachment will add to my sanding capabilities.

I regularly use random orbital sanders for woodworking projects, particularly when building furniture from hardwoods. For most bare-wood applications, I rarely need to sand beyond 220 grit to achieve a surface that looks excellent under a sprayed lacquer finish. After the first finish coats have dried, I typically sand lightly by hand with 220 before applying the final coat.These ultra-fine discs serve a different purpose. For a highly polished final appearance, I prefer extremely fine abrasives. This assortment gives me a useful progression from 320 through 1000 grit without requiring several separate purchases.The hook-and-loop backing feels well made, grips the sander pad securely, and allows discs to be changed quickly. The discs cut consistently on wood, painted finishes, metal, and automotive components. Working gradually through the grit sequence produces a noticeably smoother and more refined surface.One important limitation is that these discs do not have dust-extraction holes. I am accustomed to perforated discs that work with my sander’s internal vacuum system, so the lack of holes increases loose dust during dry sanding. The solid design may be intended primarily for wet-sanding applications, although I have not personally used a random orbital sander that way.They may wear somewhat faster than premium professional abrasives under aggressive use, but for detailed finishing, polishing, furniture restoration, and general DIY work this 50-piece set offers strong versatility and worthwhile value.

My hobby is building guitars, so I use very fine-grit abrasives for the final steps of leveling and polishing after the finish has cured. I normally use foam-backed sanding pads between 1000 and about 3000 grit, dry, and then complete the polish with buffing wheels. But a problem with the foam backed pads is that they tend to conform and follow imperfections in the finish instead of leveling them out. As a result, I have to hand sand the nitro-cellulose lacquer with 600 grit as the first step, to remove all the imperfections before moving on to the finer grits. That’s the reason I ordered this set. I wanted to see if using the 1000 grit discs without foam backing would do better at leveling out imperfections, thus saving me a bunch of hand sanding.I ran tests on some scrap material that already had about 15 coats of well-cured lacquer. (Always test everything related to finish before applying to actual guitars.) The answer is that the 1000 grit paper did do a better job of leveling than the foam backed discs I’ve been using. Not sure if I can get completely away from hand sanding, but it should cut my time. I wasn’t able to tell that much difference in performance or quality of the finish between wet and dry sanding. In both cases these discs load up really quickly so 10 discs aren’t going to last very long. For guitars, dry sanding is a little safer because it eliminates chances for moisture to get underneath the finish.When I finished with 1000 grit, I went through the other grits all the way to 5000. Interestingly, the finest grits don’t load up as quickly. The 5000 leaves a really nice finish. It still needs polishing to complete the shine, but I think it’s worth it to create the best possible base for polishing.Due to the loading issues, I wish more of the lower grit discs came in the set and fewer of the highest grits. I think in almost any application, not just guitar polishing, you’ll typically spend more time on the lower grits.All in all, this was a worthy experiment and I think these are a pretty good value as preparation for final polishing.
