This drywall taping knife seems to be good quality overall, with a comfortable handle and a very flexible blade that feels nice to work with. Unfortunately, the one I received had a couple of raised bumps along the edge, which transferred directly into the compound and made it unusable unless I try to file or smooth it down myself. Aside from that defect, I can see it being a solid tool for the price. The materials feel sturdy, and the flexibility is exactly what you’d want in a taping knife. It’s reasonably priced and would likely work well if not for the manufacturing flaw.

Reviewing the Goldblatt 8'' blue steel drywall taping knife with soft grip handle.This item arrived at my location packaged very well, in great shape and perfect working order.This is an excellent example of a large putty knife. The blade is firm but not too firm, the handle is soft and easy to grip and the back bone of the knife hold firm and makes manipulation a breeze. There is also a large hole in the handle for hanging on the wall or your belt too.The price seems to be quite competative with the local hardware stores which is also nice.Overall, I have liked using this putty knife around the house for different needs. It is holding up very well, cleans up easily after use and does the job it is intended to without any issues. I can confidently recommend this item with a high degree of certanty.Great product and well made.

We’re in the process of finishing the drywall in our garage before turning it into a home gym, so I’ve been trying out different tools along the way. I've used a lot of drywall knives and most have been really old -- like before they realized that flexing is a nice thing. This knife has just the right amount of flex -- enough so you can feather smoothly but not so stiff that you can't form the joint. Nice!

This putty knife arrived in good condition and matched the product description. It's lightweight, comfortable to hold, and the ergonomic handle provides a secure grip, making it easy to use for smaller jobs without causing much hand fatigue.I used it for its intended purpose, but I also found it worked well for scraping old silicone off tile. The flexible blade was helpful for that task because it could get under the silicone without scratching the surface too aggressively.The only drawback I noticed is that the blade bends quite a bit when you apply extra pressure. That flexibility may be useful for drywall finishing and spreading joint compound, but if you're expecting a stiffer scraper for tougher removal jobs, it may feel a little too bendy.Overall, it performs as advertised and is a good choice for drywall finishing, patching, and other light-duty scraping tasks. Just keep in mind that the flexibility is better suited for finishing work than heavy scraping.

I really like whatever this blue material is. It looks cool, so yeah, it’s a flex, but not just showing off flex... I mean the actual flex and give and take that comes with it.When you're putting joint compound into a patch or skimming, you push in with a lot of pressure. This lets you do that without having to worry so much about how much pressure or blade control you have while you're pushing.Ultimately, does it make working with joint compound super easy…Not really. But it makes it less pedantic feeling. The blade looks cool, feels good, and makes the annoying drywall work, slightly less annoying. I like it a lot.

I like this 8-inch knife for smaller drywall repairs, feathering out mud, and smoothing joint compound. The flexible blue-steel blade gives me enough control to work the edges without digging in too hard, while the handle is comfortable enough for a longer patching job. Goldblatt describes its blue-steel blade as tempered and flexible, with an aluminum backer plate for added rigidity.It is lightweight and simple, which is really all I need from a taping knife. FYI, I would keep it wiped clean and dry after using it, since blue steel can rust if it is left with wet mud on it.
