I ordered this light in black to replace the hanging globe light in my kitchen because I've never cared for the one that's there now. It's a gorgeous modern looking light. It was made to last, and the glass is thick as advertised. It would take some force to break it, and that's a good thing.Unfortunately, we've found that it is just too small to replace our kitchen light. We have a vaulted ceiling. The light is just long enough to hang where our current light is, but the actual size of the light is too small. It wouldn't look right in the kitchen, so we've decided to use it to replace one of our hall lights.As you can see, it looks great! We are way overdue for updating our lighting, so I'm thrilled that we were able to make this light work somewhere in our home.The only issue that we came across was with the included white, plastic connector. I've included a pic of it.It does not securely attach to 14 gauge wire, so you need to use wire nuts to secure that connection.

You can use this cap on a ceiling up to 54 inches in height.It uses one E26 socket, and the bulb should not be larger than 60 W; no bulb is included. You could use this fixture in a Ray kitchen island dining situation: a black fixture, black canopy, black hanging wire, and the glass shade.
