Lightweight Adjustable Wrench

I have been trying to get a great set of adjustable wrenches for house work on pipes and things that I don't want to buy a dedicated tool for, and so far this LIYU brand looks pretty solid for the price, they adjust up and down pretty smoothly, no binding or having the jaw flop or spread when you tighten it. The gear is tight and solid, but smooth and can be operated by one thumb with ease, and the heads of the jaw are nicely sized, they aren't overly thick and interfere with the work area, but still big enough to be durable and not have to worry about snapping. This is a great little tool in the adjustable wrench world so far.

I got this LIYU 6-Inch Lightweight Adjustable Wrench, Forged Alloy Steel, Triple Layer Plated, Laser SAE to compliment the tools that I already have in my work shed. Its a nice tool; which I don't already have. And let me say right off the bat, that this tool is REALLY GREAT. It functions perfectly as designed and works wonderfully to loosen bolts or turn the occasional item that needs to be loosened. The shine and finish makes it easy to find in my tool box. Overall, I am 100% satisfied with the quality and value for the dollar that this wrench presents. I would recommend it to anyone seeking an affordable, durable, well made, highly functioning wench. It is very handy to have when you need it for doing projects around the house. NOTE - It -is- a LOT smaller than a standard wrench, but the description CLEARLY SAYS SIX INCH, so just ensure that you understand the exact size of the wrench that you are ordering.

Nice item! Seems to be well made, both the cast as well as the machined surfaces are well finished & the machined parts are smooth & well fit. The knurled spiral worm-screw that moves the adjustable jaw has no binding or grinding when you move it with your thumb & is holds well with a “positive” feel when you get it adjusted to the size that you need. Probably the most impressive thing to me (aside from the overall size & the bright orange easy-to-find plastic makers inset) is the CLEAN & ACCURATE laser-engraved markings that denote the spread of the jaws both in 1/16” increments on one side as well as 1mm increments on the other. (They really MUST be laser-engraved as I don’t see how the markings would be mechanically cut/etched this well - at least for this price point!) The maximum spread of the jaws is abt 21.5 mm or 13.5 16ths (i.e., 27/32nds) of an inch. The handle itself is solid & has a good feel in your hands while 2 open areas that were cast into it help cut the overall weight down as well as the round one at the end providing a handy opening to hang it on a hook or - in my case, working around water quite often - attach a lanyard to it so I don’t lose my fancy new adjustable wrench! The size of this wrench makes it really handy to keep in your pocket without being so small as to feel like a toy or lose track of it - also great size & reliable quality for tossing in your glove compartment or tool roll for a motorcycle/boat. I’m impressed by the quality of this overall & would be interested in scaled up larger versions of this as well. I’m curious to see what other tools this company may manufacture as well - as, if they are all of this quality & reasonable price point, they’d really be worth keeping your eye out for. Time of course will tell how it holds up but I don’t see this as a “throwaway” … unlike a crappy 1/4” rachet I got tired of alternately slipping & binding up that I finally tossed today!

This is a pretty good wrench. It's light and I like the graduations, metric on one side and standard on the other.My only complaint is the price. I always compare these entry-level tools to Harbor Freight tools, and you can get a similar wrench to this at Harbor Freight with a lifetime warranty for a lower price. I couldn't find any warranty information on the listing, maybe it's buried in there somewhere.So it's a good wrench, but it's not worth $17.

The wrench is really light, clocking in at 0.271lbs. It is like holding up a cell phone. When removing the wrench from the box, the head area still felt greasy.The length of the wrench handle makes it good for small work. For heavier work, like trying to loosen a rusted hex bolt, is not a good fit since the short handle does not give enough leverage. For normal household usage, like loosen a kitchen faucet, this works just fine.The head has the metric and imperial units on it to allow setting the head to the correct size or it can be use to determine the size of a hex nut/bolt. It is a nice feature but won't be use often as the scenario to use an adjustable wrench is when the size of the nut/bolt is unknown.This is a good size wrench from household use, just make sure to give the wrench a wipe first to remove the leftover grease on the head.

I kept seeing this brand pop up and figured I would give it a shot, hoping for a higher quality tool to add to the bench.Unfortunately, for a $17 price tag, this wrench feels severely overpriced. The listing mentions forged alloy and high-torque CR-V steel, but Chrome Vanadium is just middle-of-the-road steel that you find on almost any basic budget hand tool. There is nothing overly precise about the manufacturing here either. There is noticeable backlash in the thumbwheel and slop in the head when you try to lock the jaws down on a fastener.You can pick up a standard 6-inch adjustable wrench from Harbor Freight for under $10 that performs identically to this. It works fine for basic tasks, but for $17, I expected much tighter tolerances and better overall value.
