I wanted these to soften a few recessed lights that were too harsh, and the idea seemed like it would be a simple fix.Unfortunately, they did not work for me at all. None of them stayed up. I tried applying them carefully, but every single one eventually fell down, which makes them pretty useless as ceiling light covers.The covers themselves seemed like they could have helped with glare if they had actually stayed in place. The problem is the adhesive. It really needs to be improved, because a stick-on product has to stick before anything else matters.If you are buying these mainly for an easy no-tools install, I would be careful. The light-filtering idea is good, but the adhesive failure made these a miss for me.

These light covers are simple to install and make a noticeable difference. They soften the harsh brightness from my ceiling light and give the room a warmer, more comfortable feel. A must if you have light sensitivity! Worked great in my laundry closet. They should make on that covers the entire circle. The sticker shades work well from a different seller if you want to cover the entire circle like I wanted in my kitchen.

Stuck this on a bright 6-inch recessed LED downlight right above my desk that was causing harsh glare on my computer monitor. The 40% transmittance frosted lens diffuses the harsh point-source light into a soft, even glow while still letting plenty of usable light through for reading and working.

The Auraelos 4 pack 40% translucent 6-inch recessed light covers ended up being a nice upgrade for the overall look of my recessed lighting. I picked them up mostly to soften the harsh appearance of the lights and make the room feel a little more polished, and for that purpose they do a good job. Once installed, they make the lighting look more intentional and definitely improve the aesthetics compared to having the bulbs fully exposed.Installation was pretty straightforward, and the adhesive sticker backing actually seems fairly strong. I did have two of them fall once, but honestly I think that was more likely due to installation error on my part than a problem with the adhesive itself. After redoing them more carefully, they seemed to stay in place much better, so I wouldn’t call that a dealbreaker.What I like most is that they help diffuse the light enough to make it less visually harsh while still letting plenty of light through. The 40% translucent design works well if you want to tone things down a bit without making the room feel too dim. My only real complaint is that I wish the cover extended over more of the light, at least halfway or a little more, because I think that would soften the look even better and block a little more of the direct glare.Overall, I’m happy with them. They’re a simple upgrade, they make the recessed lights look more pleasing, and they add a cleaner, more finished appearance to the room without being complicated to install.
