Thought this would come in handy for small, delicate projects as well as assist with the 3D metal models I do as a hobby. On the positive side, it is small so as not to take up too much room on the workspace. The rubber pads are a great feature to keep from damaging parts like a normal vise. It comes with 2 magnets on the bottom to help hold it in place on steel, but they are not very strong. It does not take much pressure to move the whole thing. On wood or countertop, it seems unsteady. It would have been nice if it came with a 3 x 3" base to attach to for added stability. As for price, it seems a little high for what you get. I hope my opinion improves when I start my next model and see how it does at full task.

Great as a third hand to hold small things without damaging them. This is not heavy duty, but is not intended to be. The clamping walls are aluminum, the clamping face is a rubbery compound. I really like this clamp.I removed 1 star for two minor reasons. First, the magnets could be stronger. I would like that. The magnetic force is at its limit to hold up the screwdriver in my picture. Second, the adjuster bolt is executed reverse of what it should be in my opinion. A stainless bolt threading in and out of aluminum will wear out the aluminum. In addition, it doesn't spin "fast and smooth". I reversed the bolt and used the aluminum threads to lock the drive bolt in place, then added a second 6mm wing nut to hold the clamp shut.Now I can just pinch the clamp shut with my fingers, spin the wing nut tight with stainless on stainless threads, and lock it down in less than a second. This mini vise comes in handy because I deal with a lot of small components. However, the bottom doesn't have any rubber pads to keep the rig from sliding around. For that reason, it works best placed atop of a soft silicone mat instead of a hard surface. There are a pair of magnets on the base, but they're not particularly strong.Apart from the slippery bottom, the vise is easy to adjust by its wingnut. The jaws have firm pads to prevent damage to whatever you're working on. Overall, it's a decent tool but could be improved with a nonslip base and/or stronger magnets.

Soldering tiny PCBs without a proper clamp usually involves a dangerous dance of balancing a board, holding solder wire, and trying not to sear off your fingertips. I picked up this mini vise specifically to hold small custom circuit boards on my workbench, and it has done a fantastic job. The clamping action is surprisingly smooth, and the protective jaw pads are a huge plus. They grip the edges of the boards firmly without marring the fiberglass or crushing any nearby surface-mount components. It has enough weight to stay put on the desk, so it does not slide around while you are trying to make a clean solder joint. For tiny electronics repair, drone parts, or mini modeling work, this little vise is well worth having around.

This vise can open as wide as 40 mm. Although the product page shows a minimum opening of 5 mm, you can actually close the jaws completely. The jaws have rubber pads that allow them to grip delicate items without damage. Bolting such a small vise to your workbench would be impractical, but this vise has magnets on the bottom to hold it in place, freeing both hands.

This is a great little tool for holding small items. The base is stable enough to help cutting round items even if they don't fit in the jaws. The return spring is not particularly strong but it does its job. The biggest downside is the wing nut is such small diameter it takes time to move the jaws. If it had a larger throw arm it would be easier to move the jaws but harder to put on a table top so it's a trade off. One less than obvious use would be for pressing parts together using the jaws and the screw to gently press parts together that you might break if you did them by hand. Overall it's a very handy tool and definitely worth the money.
