I bought this after one of the trees in my backyard had a fairly large branch damaged during a windy weekend. After cutting the broken branch off, it left a pretty ugly exposed area and I didnt feel comfortable just leaving it open, especially since we had rain in the forecast.I had never used tree wound dressing before, so I wasnt really sure what to expect. When I first opened the container, the paste looked thicker than I expected. But once I started brushing it onto the cut, I actually liked the consistency. It stayed where I applied it instead of dripping all over the trunk. I put on a fairly generous coat and worked it into some of the uneven areas around the bark.A few weeks later I ended up using it again after pruning a couple smaller branches and also on one area where the bark had been scraped. There is still quite a bit left in the container, so one jar should last me awhile for normal backyard use.Pros:* Thick consistency, doesnt run down the tree* Pretty easy to spread with the included brush* Covers exposed wood and damaged bark well* Green color blends into the tree much better than black sealer* Very little smell compared to what I expected* Container can be resealed for later use* A little goes a pretty long way* Useful to keep around if you prune trees regularlyCons:* It can be a little messy if you get it on your hands, so I would definately wear gloves* On very rough bark you have to work the brush back and forth a few times to get good coverage* The green color isn't invisible, especially right after applying it, but it looks much better than a big black patchWe also had some rain after I applied it and the coating still seemed to stay in place pretty well. I obviously cant say exactly how fast the tree itself will recover since that takes time, but my main reason for buying this was to cover and protect the exposed areas after pruning and damage.Overall, I'm happy with it. It's one of those products I probably won't use every week, but I'm glad to have it sitting in the garage when I need it. If you have several trees, do your own pruning, or occasionally deal with broken branches or damaged bark, this is pretty handy to have around.
