Some are good, others, not so good!In this particular instance, I've unexpectedly become the 'happy' recipient of these 'giant looking', 3/8" thick surface 'nap' paint rollers. This came about as per my ongoing membership in Amazon's Vine Voice reviewer team program. Even though I'd consider myself a 'tried and true' DIY-er - - someone who has done countless numbers of maintenance jobs around the house - - periodic painting chores have sprung up from time to time. Coincidentally, we're currently re-sealing the many paver bricks in our front driveway area, and up to now, the largest roller, when available has been the 12" version. Needless to say, a front driveway on a near one acre property lot covers a large expanse, and so the welcome added, time-saving advantage of a 12" roller specimen has heretofore been the best alternative to getting the job done rapidly in order to get out of the debilitating hot South Florida sun.So, now comes along this 'giant width' Amazon marketed 'manna from heaven' 18" roller that I'd never even knew existed. Even though I had to invest in the requisite accoutrements to do the job (such as a wider 18" paint tray, and equally sized 18" frame), the massive time saving benefit far eclipsed the much longer time it previously took for the 12" variant to perform up to its limitations.Accordingly, I'm obviously 'all thumbs up' with a full 5 stars' rating for this 18" 'phenomenon' that's thankfully come to my attention, and so, here are some of the other beneficial features I've experienced with them as a result of the superb finished look these new rollers afforded me:1) It's super important to know that paint rollers come in basically two different 'flavors'. Most of them, often with a lower price structure, are for water-based/latex paints only. The more pricey ones are dual purpose, in that they will perform equally well with either latex or 'chemical paints', such as oil-based and lacquer-based paints. If you don't heed this advice, you might just find yourself in a mess (no pun intended) of a cleanup disastrous problem jam, as any chemical-based paint will 'eat up' a latex-only paper-like core roller in short order. FYI, the reason between the two distinctly different types is based on the core material makeup whereby the chemical capable one is basically impervious to much more aggressive and invasive solvent-based liquids, such as certain paints. The difference is a disposable-like paper core (for latex) vs. a more rugged 'plastic-like' core (for oil-based paints).2) I've found over time, as both an experienced Amazon reviewer and a home DIY person, that painting accessories manufacturers (such as those producing paint rollers in all forms, sizes and shapes) fail to readily indicate on the outer packaging to potential buyers which types of roller any particular roller is capable of supporting (paint formulation-wise). In fact, this particular product, currently under my review, typically failed to produce any paint type usage whatsoever. Before I took this item on for testing and review, I first had to take the time and effort to carefully research if it was good for both the aforementioned paint categories. Thank goodness for a marketing genius like Amazon that now includes their "Ask Alexa" option, which gave me the 'thumbs up' to proceed with my oil-based driveway sealing project, which incidentally, if I haven't already previously stated, turned out wonderfully with these rollers performing flawlessly.3) Of note: if you too are contemplating an oil-based painting roller project, you'll probably find it cheaper to 'trash' it upon job completion as the usual Toluol/Toluene diluting cleanup solvents usually cost more than a new replacement roller itself. Woefully, I can still remember the pre 'crazy-inflation' days when those solvents, along with Acetone, Mineral Spirits and Lacquer Thinner cost far less than the items they were created to service at cleanup time.4) This Amazon seller even 'sweetens' the pot in that he includes a generous 60 yards long x 2" wide blue-colored roll of painters tape (non-permanent adhesive for easy, clean removal after use). This stuff is not cheap if bought separately, so keep this bonus addition in mind when contemplating a purchase.5) Other seemingly smallish, but very significant nevertheless, facts to keep in mind is the nap thickness (they come in several different variants as per the future task at hand) as well as the fact that this is a 'giant'...

I used these 18-inch microfiber roller covers while repainting a large room, and they made it much faster to cover walls than using a smaller roller. The microfiber holds a good amount of paint and releases it evenly, helping create a consistent finish across large surfaces. Including a roll of painter's tape is a useful bonus.The covers fit my 18-inch roller frame as expected and didn't leave noticeable lint while painting. Cleaning them takes a little extra time if you plan to reuse them, but they've held up well after washing.

This set of 3 18" x 3/4" nap microfiber paint roller covers are a good value for the money in my opinion for $26. They came with a 2" x 60 yards roll of blue painters' tape to make it an even better value as a set. I love the 3/4" nap, it holds a lot of paint, and the 18" rollers cover a lot of space very quickly and efficiently. They are easy to install and fit great on our existing 18" paint roller frame without issues. They are made from microfiber for a very smooth finish. These rollers are very versatile and can be used with oil based or water-based stains, paints, primers and more. The 3/4" nap can handle even rougher surfaces like stucco, concrete, brick and more. These are quality made roller covers for a great price, and I HIGHLY recommend this very functional set to anyone!

I recently used these 18 inch roller covers for painting a rough wall, and they worked really well. The long nap held plenty of paint and helped cover the textured surface quickly and evenly. The rollers fit securely and did not shed during use. The included painters tape was also useful for protecting trim and creating clean lines. Highly recommend!

These roller covers worked great for a large painting project. They hold a good amount of paint, provide smooth and even coverage, and helped make the job go much faster.They fit my 18-inch roller frame perfectly and didn’t shed lint while painting, which gave a nice clean finish. The included painter’s tape was a nice bonus and worked well for masking edges.Overall, this is a great value for anyone tackling large walls or rough surfaces. I’d definitely buy these again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
