Great for high ceilings and light attachmentsGreat for high ceilings and light attachments

[Style: 10FT, Style: 10FT]
I picked up this 10-foot fiberglass extension pole mainly for cleaning the vaulted ceiling in my house. The box was slightly crushed when it arrived, but the pole itself was fine. This is probably the fanciest extension pole I've used. It came in a cloth sleeve with a neoprene-like exterior, a felt-like interior, and rainbow stitching. The pole has a traditional Japanese Seigaiha "blue ocean waves" pattern wrapped around it. It's not just a printed graphic either - the design comes from a narrow strip wrapped continuously around the shaft, which gives it a really interesting texture. In one direction your hand slides fairly easily, while in the other direction it gets much grippier, almost like shark skin. The ferrules are metal with a brown/copper finish that looks very nice, and the threaded end is machined aluminum. The bottom ferrule has a plastic bumper to help keep it from scratching floors. The product photos show that bottom cap unscrewing for drainage, but I couldn't get mine to budge at all.I also like that the tightening threads are on the outside of the pole sections. I've had cheaper poles where the threads were hidden inside and eventually came loose or failed, so this arrangement feels much more substantial.Fully extended, the pole does have a noticeable amount of flex. If you move it quickly, it starts to look a little like one of the flexible spears from *Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon*. For painting I normally use a Wooster extension pole, which is very stiff. Because of the flex here, I'm not sure how well this would feel with something heavier like an 18-inch paint roller, especially when fully extended. For cleaning attachments, though, the flex hasn't been an issue. Despite the length, it's very light at only about 0.92 pounds. The adjustable head is entirely plastic, but it feels solid. The pivot has interlocking teeth, so once you tighten it down, the angle isn't going anywhere. The thumbwheel has deep finger grooves and is easy to grip and tighten. The head has a very wide adjustment range and can even angle slightly downward. The entire adjustable-angle head is also removable, so you can use the pole without it or swap on a different attachment. This is a double-expansion pole, which lets it collapse down surprisingly short for something that reaches 10 feet when fully extended. That makes it much easier to store while still giving me plenty of reach for high ceilings without having to drag out a ladder every time.Overall, this feels much nicer than the typical cheap extension pole. It's lightweight, easy to adjust, has a lot of reach, and looks far better than something that's ultimately going to spend most of its life attacking cobwebs. At around fifteen bucks, I think this pole is an excellent deal.

Very Useful for Lighter Jobs Up HighVery Useful for Lighter Jobs Up High

[Style: 10FT, Style: 10FT]
Overall, this is a useful extension pole and I like how lightweight it is considering how long it can extend. At shorter and medium lengths it feels pretty sturdy, and the 10-foot reach is great for jobs where I don't want to bring out a ladder. It also collapses down to a much more manageable size for storage. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the locking system. Sometimes the upper section slips or whips around a little, so I think the extension locks could be better. Once you get close to the full 10-foot length, you also lose quite a bit of rigidity and can feel the pole flexing. That's understandable to some extent with something this long and lightweight, but I definitely wouldn't consider it a heavy-duty pole at full extension. For lighter cleaning, painting, and reaching jobs it works well, but keep your expectations realistic at the maximum length.

Extremely lightweight fiberglass, excellent grip, compact storage, and a great value at $14.99Ext...

[Style: 10FT, Style: 10FT]
Bottom line:For $14.99, this is an excellent value. The fiberglass construction makes a 10-foot extension pole surprisingly light and easy to handle, the textured surface provides a naturally grippy feel, and the three telescoping sections make it compact for storage. It even comes with a fitted sleeve and an angle adapter. The twist locks take a little attention when extending the pole, but once tightened securely, everything stays in place.Observations:I have wanted a fiberglass extension handle for a while, but many of the ones I have looked at were considerably more expensive. This one immediately helped me understand why fiberglass is so desirable for a long pole. It is remarkably light for its size and does not feel cumbersome even when fully extended. At one point I felt like Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles carrying it around. The pole consists of three sections that slide into one another, so it collapses into a much more manageable length for storage. It also comes with its own fitted sleeve, which was unexpected at this price and gives you a convenient way to keep everything together when it is not being used. Each telescoping section is held in place with a metal twist-lock collar. Once tightened securely, the sections stay where I put them. The only issue is that the collars can interact with each other while making adjustments. If one section is not tightened sufficiently, turning the next collar can also cause the previous section to loosen or tighten further. It is not difficult to work around, but I found that I need to deliberately secure each section before moving on to the next. The surface of the fiberglass shaft is also worth mentioning. It has a repeating textured pattern that creates a surprising amount of grip against your hands. It almost feels like a very mild natural Velcro effect without actually being rough or uncomfortable. The included threaded end gives it compatibility with different attachments, and the separate angle adapter makes it possible to position an attachment at something other than straight ahead. That makes the pole more versatile for cleaning, painting, reaching overhead areas, and other jobs where the attachment angle matters. For the price, I think this is a very good value. It is light, compact for storage, comfortable to hold, and feels much nicer in use than I expected from an inexpensive extension pole. The twist-lock interaction keeps it from being perfect, but once everything is tightened properly it works very well.

Great Universal Tool for Someone With Limited Mobility

[Style: 10FT]
I got this extendable pole for my brother, who is a quadriplegic and uses a wheelchair, and it has turned out to be one of those tools that has way more uses than we originally expected. He uses it for a multitude of different things from his wheelchair, especially for reaching, moving, or accessing things that would normally be out of reach. The universal threaded end is really handy because you can attach all sorts of different accessories to it depending on what you need. We’ve basically turned it into a universal tool for him, and we keep finding new uses for it.It’s also surprisingly lightweight, which is really important in his case, but it still feels sturdy when extended. Being able to adjust the length is great too, since he can keep it shorter for things nearby or extend it when he needs the extra reach. The fiberglass construction and non-conductive design are nice added features, although electrical work wasn’t the reason we bought it. For us, the biggest benefit is simply the versatility and the additional reach it gives my brother from his wheelchair.Overall, I’m really happy with this pole. It’s well made, lightweight, easy to adjust, and compatible with a ton of different attachments. What started out as just an extendable pole has become a genuinely useful everyday tool for my brother.

Super light and very strong

[Style: 10FT]
Wow, this is the way to go. Super light and extremely rigid! I normally have difficult holding poles that are extended over 6ft die the the strain on my wrists from the weight of the pole alone, never mind the weight of the attachment. This being carbon fiber, there is virtually no weight and it doesn't bend like other poles as the structure of carbon fiber is RIGIDITY. It doesn't flex, other poles bend from their own weight, so apart from the benefit of less strain on my wrists and arms, there is a more accurate control of the brush attachment by the nature of virtually not bend in the pole. The pole comes in a very slim thin soft case for protection and storage and there are three sections that telescopically extend to the full 10ft length with two clockwise screw sleeves that tighten easily to lock the chosen length in place. The pole comes with and 0-90 degree plastic arm that screws onto the end, which is a standard broom/mop screw fitting. You can attach any type of accessory onto the pole that uses this standard screw fit.Overall a very versatile lightweight rigid extension pole that can be used around the home. The price is very reasonable, so good value.
