These hole saws are super sharp. The shank is faceted and fits in a drill chuck nicely. The pilot bit makes it easy to use and accurately place the hole.I think that these are intended to be used in a magnetic drill press or a stationary machine, but frankly, they work just fine in a handheld drill.I bought these as they match a common knock-out size for electrical enclosures. One hole saw cut over 100 holes and is still very sharp. This 3-saw set should last very long so the value is very high for this set.I am very happy with this saw set. I am going to get a lot of use out of them in my job as an electrical technician.

I have rarely used metal cutters of any type and do not know terminology or exactly what to expect, but I know if something works as it should and if it does so with relative ease. I’ve used the first of these on a 2mm copper sheet. I'm using both to protect the area around four, half-inch cord access holes I’m cutting in a 150 year old secretary desk, and for decorative effect for the same.The blade has held up without issue through all four cuts and the cuts are smooth enough, leaving no burrs. Since I plan to cap them anyway they don’t have to be pig’s butt smooth.

I picked up the 5/8" three pack specifically for cutting uniform holes in a large section of 1/8" carbon steel plate. So far, I've drilled out one test hole to prove out the carbide on these and can confirm they are as described.These have a small locking bolt that uses an alan key to lock the pilot bit in place or allow you to replace it if needed. The bit sits just far enough inside the hole-saw to grab with the locking bolt, but just barely. You won't be setting any custom pilot bit depth with these, but that is fine.The hole-saw itself seems to be of better quality than the pilot bit, which is also fine as those are easy to replace, and the tension spring is just nice to have in my opinion. These do not cut extremely fast but will get the job done. I expect to burn through all three by the time I get my array of holes drilled, but if any are left standing, I'll update the review after all 32 are complete.From the initial test, there does not seem to be excessive burr and only took a little cleanup with a chamfering bit. These come in sturdy plastic locking containers with a layer of protective grease, and each has it's own alan key.For the price, these are a great value. Top brands tend to charge the same price for a single hole-saw.

I have had these in the shop for awhile and needed to test them before I gave any comment. (Got my eyes dilated earlier today and can't do some of the other things I need to do so this test is something I can do.)I took an old piece of 1/4" mild steel that has been tortured. I seated the pilot drill, which gave me a little fit trying to get it to run true...not sure what I was doing wrong but make sure it is centered and held firmly by the set screw before starting your cut.I chucked the assembly in my drill press and the pilot drill took about half as long to get thru the metal as what the actual hole saw did. Which is reasonable and quite impressive for the actual hole saw to go thru as quick as it did. There was no smoking and the chips were flying out of the kerf showing good promise.Results: excellent!Note: I am not inclined to do an endurance test as I may need this bit for an upcoming project. Would definitely order again and plan to order in other sizes.

I received this set of (3) ¾” dia, carbide tipped hole saws. These (3) identical hole saws came individually packaged in custom fit plastic cases. Each package had a hole saw with (5) carbide tips, a pilot drill assy with slug ejector spring, and an allen wrench. All (3) plastic cases arrived in good condition.The integral shanks had (3) flats to prevent slipping in the chuck jaws. I confirmed that these shanks fit in my 3/8” chucks. There was some slight ”wobble” noticed when rotating, but it could have been from my drill chuck and definitely was not enough to cause any trouble cutting.I did some test cuts in plastic, aluminum, and steel with one of the hole saws. I used a milling machine, so I left out the slug ejecting pilot drill. This is the way I typically plan to use these. The resulting holes were a little larger than expected, checking ~.787” (20.0mm), but I am not docking the rating since hole saws are notorious for inaccurate hole sizes. If I want a more precise hole, I will either use a proper size twist drill, a reamer., or a boring head. All of my test cuts resulted in nice holes, with very little burring at the exit. The resulting chips indicated that the carbide tips were ground at good angles for cutting these materials.Overall, the construction of these hole saws was a little nicer than I expected. My only “complaint” is that you receive (3) saws of the same size when I would have loved to have one each of three different sizes. I can not down-rate this offer because I knew of that when I ordered them. I’m assuming they use this marketing scheme since the likely buyers are commercial contractors and will use one size enough to wear them out.
