We removed and discarded that one in less than two weeks.There were two problems. First, its thick raised construction substantially reduced the usable toilet opening. That greatly increased how frequently the underside and inside of the seat needed cleaning, particularly troublesome because my wife frequently had digestive problems.Second, cleaning the seat itself was a project. Instead of the relatively thin, easily wiped surfaces of an ordinary toilet seat, there was a large, deep structure with considerably more surface area to clean.So how does this MEYDRDOU compare?Unfortunately, it retains much of the same inherent problem.I measured the openings:• Conventional elongated seat: 8.25" wide × 12.25" long - approximately 79.4 sq. in.• MEYDRDOU raised seat: 8.0" wide × 11.25" long - approximately 70.7 sq. in.• That's approximately 11% less usable opening area.But I think that 11% figure actually understates the practical difference.The conventional seat loses only 1/4" in width when replaced by this one - about 3%. More importantly, it loses a full 1" of front-to-back opening, from 12.25" to 11.25", an 8.2% reduction.Given human anatomy, front-to-back clearance matters disproportionately.At the front, less clearance increases the possibility of urine contacting the inside of the seat or getting between the seat and porcelain bowl. At the rear, less clearance means less room for solid waste to pass cleanly into the bowl. With diarrhea or loose stools, that difference can become particularly important.And opening dimensions aren't the whole story. An ordinary toilet seat is relatively thin. This one raises the seating surface 2.91 inches, effectively surrounding that smaller opening with a nearly 3"-deep structure. That's considerably more interior and underside surface available to become soiled and considerably more surface to clean afterward. In other words, this isn't simply an opening that's about 11% smaller. It's a smaller target surrounded by much deeper walls.For someone with normal, well-formed bowel movements, that may be an acceptable tradeoff for the nearly 3" additional seating height, particularly if getting on and off a conventional toilet has become difficult. The built-in front and rear non-electric bidet is also a genuinely useful feature.But if the intended user frequently has diarrhea, loose stools or other digestive problems, I would think twice.Based on my previous experience caring for someone under those circumstances, I would not buy this style of raised seat for that application. The reduced opening and large interior surface can turn occasional toilet-seat cleaning into a frequent and unpleasant chore.That doesn't necessarily make this a bad product. Much of the problem is inherent in the basic raised-seat design. For someone who needs the additional height and normally has uncomplicated bowel movements, the tradeoff may be entirely worthwhile.But for anyone shopping for a raised toilet seat, particularly for an elderly or disabled family member, I suggest paying attention to something manufacturers don't necessarily emphasize:Don't look only at how many inches the seat raises you. Look carefully at the size and especially the front-to-back length of the opening, and consider how easily the entire underside can be cleaned. Those measurements may ultimately matter more than the advertised height.3 stars - because inherent raised seat design can require annoying frequent cleaning - possibly after every use. This raised bidet toilet seat is a great combination of comfort and convenience. The added height makes sitting down and standing up noticeably easier, while still looking much more streamlined than a traditional raised toilet seat. It fits securely and feels sturdy during use.The bidet feature is easy to operate, and I really like having both front and rear wash options. The dual self-cleaning nozzles are a nice feature, especially since the bidet doesn't require electricity.
