Setting up this chime was an absolute fast, taking literally under two minutes to pair through the app and get connected to the home network. The app automatically detected the device right away, and going through the activation steps was completely painless. It comes loaded with a wide variety of chime tones to choose from, which is nice for customizing the alert sound. My only slight complaint is the volume level even on the highest setting, it doesn't ring as loud as I personally expected it to, so if you put it in a noisy hallway or a room far from where you spend most of your time, it might be a little hard to hear. Overall, it's a super economic and straightforward accessory that works well as long as you place it somewhere central

I put this on the pool gate mainly for peace of mind. I already have cameras back there, but checking an app every time the wind blows is not my idea of security. Now if anything moves near that gate, the chime goes off inside the house and I know immediately, no app required.Setup took about five minutes. Plug in the receiver, mount the sensor, done. The 500 foot range is more than enough for my yard, and I have not had a single dropped signal or delayed alert.The best part is the sheer number of options. With 32 tones and a wide volume range, you can dial in exactly the alert you want. Something soft for an interior hallway, something loud enough to wake the neighborhood for the pool gate. My only gripe is that even the quietest setting is not quite as whisper soft as I would like, but that is a minor complaint in an otherwise excellent lineup of tones.The motion sensor itself is sharp, maybe a little too sharp. It catches people walking by exactly like it should, but it also has strong opinions about plants swaying in the wind. A few false alerts from nearby bushes taught me that positioning matters more than you would think. Angle it away from anything leafy and you will save yourself some unnecessary chimes.Build quality feels solid enough for everyday use, though I would not call it heavy duty. Mine has been sitting in a semi exposed spot for a while now without issues, but I would not leave it fully out in the elements and expect it to shrug things off forever.Overall, this is a smart, affordable way to add an extra layer of awareness to your home. It does exactly what it promises, and the flexibility with tones and volume makes it easy to fit into any space. Just watch out for the ferns.

I didn't have any issues setting it up really. My Blink doorbell wasn't connected to my Alexa for some reason which threw me the longest. It had been so I assumed it still was. That was on me though, not this chime.Once the doorbell was connected to Alexa, I just had to have her set this to go off when the doorbell does. She's also now announcing it on all of my echoes so I guess I didn't need this to get it off my phone, just for the rooms where there is no echo.I have it on a short low 2 key ding and don't find it intrusive or annoying.Overall, I can buy an echo for what this costs for the living room, where there isn't one currently, so I don't know that I would pay that much for another one of these, but it does work and is useful in rooms you don't want an echo.

The setup took a little time to get everything connected, but once I had it configured, it worked as expected.There are 32 different tones to choose from, along with five volume levels, so it's easy to find a sound and volume that work for my home. The blue LED ring is also a useful feature. I can use the flash-only mode when I don't want an audible alert.I also like that it's designed to work with several popular doorbell brands and that additional chimes can be added throughout the house. This is a generic WiFi doorbell chime, that you use by setting up automations in Alexa. Or, with some work creating a custom yaml file and the "Tuya Local" integration (not to be confused with Local Tuya, which is a different integration), Home Assistant. Sort of. By setting the value for the ringtone index, it will play the specified ringtone - which works fine in practice, but I was unable to get a "play" button to work, nor does the volume set work (as I have it configured at least)That said, Home Assistant isn't the target market for this - Alexa is. And there, it works fine through the Smart Home app. Setup in the Tuya Smart Home app was easy enough - press and hold the button on the side until it starts blinking, the app sees it, and you can enter your WiFi information. In my case, Amazon Alexa picked up on it almost immediately. I didn't try going any further with Alexa though, as I wanted it in Home Assistant.Volume is just OK in my mind. At the max, it is loud - but not "hear it on the other side of the house" loud. That said, there is nothing stopping you from getting multiple units and sticking them wherever you want them, then triggering them all from the same automation, so this isn't a deal breaker.The unit comes with 32 built-in ring options (28 is Happy Birthday!) so you have plenty to choose from, but you can't upload custom rings, if that is desirable to you.Overall, if you want to add doorbell chimes, this one should work, as it is chime agnostic - just set it up to ring in response to whatever doorbell you have. And with some work, it will even work with Home Assistant. Worth considering.

This WiFi doorbell chime works, but my overall experience wasn’t all that great. The biggest downside was getting it set up. I had a much harder time than I expected, and the setup process wasn’t as straightforward as it could have been.Once I finally got it connected, it worked fine. My other complaint is the selection of tones. There are a lot of musical tunes, but I was really hoping for more simple, short doorbell chimes, just a different selection of chimes. Most of the available sounds are longer songs, which just aren’t my preference for a doorbell. I want the doorbell to be done chiming when I get to the door.Overall, it does the job once it’s up and running, but the difficult setup and lack of basic, traditional doorbell tones keep it at three stars for me.

It took me a hot minute to get everything set up and vibing among the different apps, but it works like a charm! For some reason my OEM electric doorbell chime stopped working with my Ring doorbell, so we never know when someone rings the doorbell (we don't have basic motion alerts turned on in the Ring app because there are just too many of them). This little Wi-Fi Chime is exactly what we needed!Everyone's set up will probably be different depending on their doorbell brand, but for me, I just had to pair it and set it up in the SmartLife app, which I already use for multiple devices in my home, so that was easy. Then I had to activate it between SmartLife and the Alexa app, and then between Ring and the Alexa app. And lastly I had to create a basic Alexa routine so that everything would work happily together. (Alexa worked fine with it even without a routine, but the routine is what tells the device to actually flash and chime. Without it, my notifications were coming only from the Alexa skill so there was no chime from the doorbell device itself.)It sounds like a lot, but it really wasn't all that much effort. And we definitely know when someone rings our doorbell now! Our phones get alerts, our echo devices tell us there's someone at the door, and the chime itself flashes and audibly alerts. Of course, you can choose to opt out of some or all of those notifications if it's a little too overwhelming. 😂I did have to tweak one of the settings after it was all configured because I was getting two voice alerts from my echo devices, one coming from the Ring app through Alexa and the other coming from the Chime/SmartLife app through Alexa. That was easily eliminated just by unchecking a box for the Chime device in SmartLife.I am impressed that this product supports so many different doorbell devices. And the instructions include setup details for each one of them. It's all very nicely documented. And most importantly, we know when someone rings our doorbell now!
