Very nice set up

[Color: Basic Version Gray]
Very pleased with the quality of the stones. They made short work of a very dull knife using all the grits of stone. How the stone fit into the wooden block with the rubber trip was a very nice touch, which help secure the stone firmly.

Very complete set!

[Color: Basic Version Gray]
This is a very complete set! I can't imagine a knife sharpening set that would need more pieces than this particular one! They included things that I didn't even realize I needed! I have used other knife sharpening devices many times over the years, but I never even used a leather Strop! This entire set seems to be well made. What is much appreciated is the fact that the base that holds the sharpening stones has a rubber bottom, which really helps in terms of keeping the whole contraption in place while you are trying to sharpen your various knives or other items. Something to keep in mind is that when sharpening blades, the lowest number on the stone indicates the more aggressive stone. The higher the number, the more fine the edge that will be on your cutting tool. Always start low and progress higher as needed. The inclusion of a pair of cut resistant gloves is also a nice touch and very much appreciated.

Excellent quality knife sharpening set.Excellent quality knife sharpening set.

This ELEAD knife sharpening kit has everything you to to produce excellent results. The heart of the kit are the stones and base. The 2 main stones have a pair of different grit media bonded together for convenience. No swapping stones for every cut, just flip them. The bamboo base offers plenty of support for the stones and has a great rubberized non slip surface. The stones and base are adequately sized, so even larger blades can be tuned up quickly, and easily. You also receive practical accessories that make this a comprehensive kit. A nagura stone to clean the cutting stones, leather strap for blade edge cleaning, angle guide for consistent cutting, microfiber towel, and a pair of level 5 labeled cut resistent gloves. It's all contained in a sturdy box that's easy to repack, and has an instructional guide printed on the outside. This kit makes keeping your knives sharp a simple task. Everything is in one box, it's easy to use, and it produces fantastic results. The price point is excellent, and makes maintaining your blades affordable. 5 stars for quality, practical results, and value. Excellent product!

Without any comparisons, this is a great set. The stone grits are absolutely usable--at least for me--and the non‑slip bamboo base is rock solid. The supporting accessories (angle guide, leather strop, nagura stone) are genuinely useful and make the sharpening process smoother for beginners and experienced users alike. However, when compared to ELEAD’s own 12‑piece set, I’d personally spend the extra money. The 12‑piece kit includes a full‑size leveling stone, polishing compound for the leather strop, and a honing guide. For me, those extras matter. They round out the sharpening workflow and make the kit feel more complete. If you’re already committed to whetstone sharpening, those additions are worth the upgrade.I accidentally ordered both sets, and for this review I haven’t unwrapped the stones in the 10‑piece kit, but based on the accessories, build quality, and the brand’s consistency, this bundle is absolutely solid. The stones feel substantial, the bamboo base is rock solid and stays glued to the table, and everything is packaged with care. The sharpening process itself has a therapeutic quality to it. Working through the grit progression, feeling the blade respond, and being rewarded with a razor‑sharp edge is deeply satisfying. This kit supports that experience well. Follow the guide and make sure you soak the stones and keep them wet during the sharpening process. The water soak will cause the stones to emit a high-pitched buzz (not loud, so listen closely) that is oddly satisfying.Overall, the 10‑piece set is a great low‑cost entry into whetstone sharpening, and it’s perfectly suitable for beginners and delivers exactly what it promises. But, if you want the full sharpening workflow with extras, go for the 12‑piece version.

I was a little apprehensive about ordering this evaluation kit because I’ve never sharpened knives using whetstones, but it turns out it’s not all that difficult and it definitely made a huge difference in the cut quality of my knives. If I have one gripe about this kit, it’s that their “instructions” consist of a few steps with pictures printed on the side of the box. They do outline the steps, but not the specific techniques. Fortunately, there’s YouTube, so it didn’t take long to find some videos that show precisely how to do it along with tips on best technique (e.g. how much pressure to apply and how to adjust where you’re applying pressure). I’m pretty sure my technique could use a lot of improvement, but the good news is that even on my very first time trying it, I got good results! The kit comes with everything needed, including an angle guide that is probably what made it possible for me to get decent results on my first attempt. The guide makes it much easier to maintain a consistent angle, and that’s one of the most important things required to get a sharp and even edge. I started with a knife that could still cut, but was definitely much duller than when it was new. I worked my way up through the grit numbers and ended up with a knife that cuts about as well as when I first bought it, so I’m really happy with how well this went. I’m also now confident that my next sharpening session will go a lot faster. The actual amount of time you need to spend pushing the knife across the stones isn’t that much, so once you’ve got the basic technique figured out, it’s a pretty quick process. Based on my experience I would say don’t worry if you’ve never done this before… it’s not that hard to get a sharp edge even on your first try. I’m including a picture of a piece of paper I cut before and after I sharpened my knife, and the difference is huge.I didn’t bother using the cut resistant gloves, but they seem like they’re decent. The stones are large enough that it’s easy to keep the angle guide and the knife blade in contact with them, and the rubber backed bamboo holder did a good job of keeping the stones from sliding around on my granite countertop. The angle guide is super simple to use… it just slides over the top of the knife and then you rest it on the stone as you’re pushing the blade across it. It has some ceramic cylinders that ride smoothly over the stone’s surface, making the process remarkably easy. The Nagura stone makes it very easy to clean off the whetstones and keep their surfaces perfectly flat. According to what I read online, there are 2 different types of whetstones, and the ones in this kit are the type that require soaking in water for several minutes before using them (the other type only requires you to splash some water onto them), so these stones do require an extra ~5 minutes of pre-prep, but otherwise the entire process is pretty quick and much simpler than I originally thought it would be.
