To be completely honest, I only got it because it was offered to me through the vine program. But now I realize that I've needed something like this for a long time -- for anything that I've had to connect stranded wire through a push connection. I used this last night to crimp a ferrule on stranded wire for a weird lamp socket connection -- I had to trim off the plastic part of the ferrule to make it work. I'm sure someone makes ferrules without a plastic cuff on them but I don't have them. I am very happy that I got this tool.This is a very well made, easy to use crimping tool. My arthritic hands had no problem crimping multiple ferrules -- and I had no problems getting the ratcheting mechanism to release. The handle is comfortable to use.One thing I don't understand -- the E10-12 and E16-12 connectors are both red. Is that standard? In the world of crimping tools, this would be (Redacted). There isn't much versatility to this tool, other than a fairly large range for wire sizes. I'd prefer if it went up to a 4AWG.... It's fairly straightforward, though I would have liked a little stripped length chart to help get the correct length the first time. I think it will hold up well enough for the average hobbyist that might go through the consumables in this set and a refill or two. This, of course, isn't going to meet specific tolerances for commercial/industrial work; but it's fine for getting your wires to seat better under clamp terminals. It's priced competitively with others of similar make. The connection itself should hold for everyday applications.

I have ordered several different tools from this company and so far I have not been disappointed in any of them. The all come well organized with their own carrying case which looks nice and makes keeping everything organized easy. I loke that I don't have to sort everything and keep my tool for them in a separate place. I can just grab the box and go. These are good quality crimping pliers that provide a good secure connection on the wiring. So far I have been very impressed with every little wiring set I have ordered. I use them a lot for building Bluetooth speaker boxes and so far every connection I have made with them has held up will with no issues. After using them for a while I am confident in the way they crimp and the quality of their connectors.

Excellent value for anyone doing electrical work. The crimper feels comfortable in hand, and the included assortment of ferrules is well organized, making clean, professional wire terminations easy. It’s a ratchet style so you can go down as much as you can hit the release and it pops back open, very easy to use!

This crimping tool uses a 6-sided crimp as opposed to a 4-sided. Depending on what kind of terminal block you're using you may prefer one over the other, but I think 6-sided is more versatile.The tool itself feels sturdy enough. This isn't a high torque situation so I'm sure it will last. The ratchet mechanism is smooth and has a manual release if something happens.I will say that the biggest ferrule, for AWG 5, just -barely- fits in the crimper. Sometimes it can be finnicky and requires some force and twisting.The case is extremely cheap and thin. The clasps barely do their job. One good drop and it's either going to crack or pop open. But at least it does contain enough ferrules to last me a very long time.Overall, I am content with what isn't a very often used tool. It is more than adequate for what I am going to do with it. Although I do think the price is a little high compared to similar sets.
