Washing machines aren't that heavy these days, but they do move around in a truck. I got these for a move with my buddy, and they held the appliances tightly in place in his truck. I like that it came in a pair. They're very easy to use, and the locking mechanism was very smooth. Both the S-hook end and the handle-press have locks built-in for added safety. The build seems robust, and they can apparently pull a truck. I believe it!These are a good get!

These retractable ratchet straps impressed me with their sturdy construction and ease of use. The extra-wide 2-inch webbing provides excellent stability and distributes pressure evenly across heavy cargo. I used them to secure items on my truck and trailer, and the 10-foot length was perfect for larger loads.The handle-press auto-retract mechanism works smoothly, quickly pulling in slack for a tight hold. I found the upgraded handle design much better than typical push-button systems, as it prevented accidental releases and improved grip control. The break strength of 3033 pounds gave me confidence in safely securing heavy items.One downside is that the straps can be a bit stiff at first, requiring some effort to pull out fully. The ratchet straps appear to be made of strong material. I like the 2" strap width, as that is easier to keep from twisting and binding up and gives better surface area across the load.I got no storage bag that was in the description. It probably doesn't matter too much. Other reviewers said it wasn't big enough to hold the full set of these straps anyway, but I figured I'd mention it since it's in the description and photos.I do find the auto-retract feature a bit hokey to use in practical settings (just across a truck bed was all I tested so far for this). You can't control the speed very well and it ends up twisting the strap about half the time. I believe they could sell a version of this strap that would be just as strong and slightly less bulky for less without this feature.The hooks are too large to fit into the tie-down anchors toward the tailgate (they have room on the ones toward the front of the vehicle). I had to use some chain quick-couplers to create some distance from the side wall to make these ratchet strap hooks work. I could have probably used the detached strap loops for this as well, so it's good they provide those.I only mention all this because you might just throw these in your pickup, head out to pick something up and not realize what these will/won't fit. As these hooks are large, it's probably wiser to find out what will work prior vs. just 'figuring it out' when you're securing it to head back.The small rubber pad that goes over the retainer clip also comes off very easily. It feels cheap to me, the rubber is very soft (especially if it's hot out) and is not bound in any way to the clip itself, so it slips off when you go to depress the clip to get it around the anchor point.The retractable feature might appeal to some, and I get that it helps with not having a bunch of excess strap to deal with, but I found it to create problems with tightening and staying taut/not-locking/slipping. I believe it's trying to solve problems that people have already learned how to deal with for years, only to create new ones (problems).Overall, if you want some good strong straps that are simple and just work - you should look elsewhere. Sorry - I just don't think these are worth the money.

Until recently, using ratchet straps meant dealing with long and tangled straps that were cumbersome to store. The newer ratcheting type like this set from HOKINETY is quicker to deploy, retrieve and store than the older ones. There are many manufacturers of lighter weight ratcheting straps like these but these stand out being 2” wide and can handle a working load of over 1,000 lbs. As is usually the case, they have a breaking strength of three times the load limit or just over 3,000 lbs. Each strap extends up to 10’ long. It really is nice to be able to just push a button and have the strap auto recoil. The hook on each end has a spring-loaded closure for enhanced security during use. A nice drawstring storage bag is included for this pair. Pricing is excellent for this set and I expect to get quite a bit of use out of these. Recommended.

I am in the process of moving and needed some ratcheting tiedowns to secure all my belongings that I am loading up for transportation to my new home. I ordered these, and when they came, I opened the box and thought to myself “Oh no, did I order some kind of professional straps that over-the-road truckers use?“ Like, these are beefy. Not just heavy-duty, like literal heavyweight items. You can see in my photos how they compare to the ones I bought at Home Depot. These are made out of what looks like *actual* seatbelt straps, the hooks are both larger and stronger, and these self-retract. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed to release my basic ratchet straps but only had one available hand, or heck — just loading the strap into the ratchet on a regular tiedown practically takes a degree in mechanical engineering. These come pre-assembled (I’m not even sure you can take the two ends of the straps apart from the ratchet). The auto retract thing is awesome, and having that carabiner-style hook at each end just makes these more secure. Oh, these also come with some extra pieces that are just like seatbelt straps sewn into a figure-8. I’m not totally sure, but I think those are for securing items that the hook can’t hook onto — think of a light pole or a small tree, for example. You can wrap that extra strap around and then hook through the loops at each end. I’m still figuring out how to use these, but if you need to secure a heavy load or are needing to tie things down frequently, these are worth the investment. They are heavy duty and very easy to use. And bonus: they never get tangled up!

The idea behind these HOKINETY retractable ratchet straps is absolutely fantastic in theory, and they definitely solve the problem of having a pile of tangled webbing in your truck bed. However, the real-world implementation and daily performance can be a bit tricky until you master the mechanism.The main issue I encountered involves the initial tightening process. If you are attempting to secure a shorter length of cargo, specifically items requiring only 3 to 4 feet of strap, there ends up being so much excess webbing wrapped around the internal crank that it becomes surprisingly difficult to pull the line truly taut. It frequently requires multiple frustrating attempts to get the tension right; you crank it down, it slips slightly, and you have to reset and retighten it again—sometimes up to three or four times—before it holds securely.That said, I discovered that when using the straps at a longer extension (around 8 feet or more), there is significantly less excess webbing bundled inside the mechanism, and it performs noticeably better with a much tighter lock. On the positive side, the actual build quality feels robust and heavy-duty, and the convenience of being able to stow the straps neatly with the push of a button without them getting tangled is a massive upgrade over standard straps. If you are using these primarily for longer tie-down applications, they work perfectly and stay secure. If you mostly secure smaller loads, just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve and some patience while getting the tension set correctly.
