This easy to install 12V 16' near infrared (850nm) LED flexible strip by Zegalit provides great security camera night vision without being obvious. It is particularly useful in dark hallways or entrances. The price is not inexpensive, but you can't put a price on enhanced security. I got this to illuminate the area for my security cameras at night. The cameras picked it up well, and this gives spread out illumination compared to the spotlight style of the camera. I verified wavelength with a spectrometer at around 857nm, so this is the proper more visible wavelength. I can hardly see the glow with my eyes, so they don't draw much attention. Power draw was 34W at 12V (2.8A), so a common 36W/3A supply will work. Strip is made up of short 1" segments soldered together, but seems plenty flexible as if solder joints aren't there. Adhesive holds decently on plastic when cleaned first (backing was difficult to get started removing). Comes with wires soldered on, and you can cut strip and use included quick-connect adapters to connect to ends without soldering. Included barrel to wire adapter for connecting to your power supply.One significant issue: 21W (62%) of the power is wasted as heat in the current-limiting resistors (only 13W goes to the LEDs). This adds up to about $10 per year wasted on heat (on 10 hours per night). It uses too few LEDs per segment, wasting most of the power on a 7.4V drop across the current-limiting resistor (what I measured). This is neither efficient nor cool-running. It is fairly common for IR LED strips.

hooked this up around my garage for night surveillance. had cheap IR blasters before but coverage was spotty. thisstrip's 600 LEDs spread evenly so no dark corners in the cam feed. yeah there's a faint red glow but i actually preferit — lets me glance and know the system's live. 16ft covered my whole perimeter, 12v power was plug and play. solidrange too, my cams pick up detail at the far end no issue. way better than those bullet IRs
