When using LEDs, 240 watts equates to a powerful outdoor light. Indeed, from any close distance, this one is blinding, perhaps literally at approx. 38,400 lumens. If it is used indoors, it might be suitable in a gymnasium or a warehouse, where there is some distance from people and a purpose to light a broad area. Otherwise, this is an outdoor light, for illuminating large areas of a yard or driveway area, mounted high to spread the coverage and reduce intensity. I would estimate a minimum comfortable mounting height to be around 15 feet. This light is nicely made, offering different power levels and making use of a photocell, if selected, to turn the light on automatically as the day turns to night, and off during the day. The circuitry box opens by unscrewing two hex screws, and there are two access screws into the box if special wiring is needed. Running at up to 240 watts, the aluminum panel that backs the light has large heat dissipating vanes, an essential part of the design. The base for this light, through which the power cord of this product feeds easily, combines a fine array of mounting possibilities. It accommodates mounting vertically at the top of a round pole, or mounting horizontally on the side of a round pole or a flat surface. The base allows adjusting the tilt of the light to nearly any conceivably useful angle, and both the base and the light itself are very sturdy in their construction. This appears to be a serious, professional grade light.

We're in the process of remodeling a mountain home. I'm planning to use a couple of these outdoor pole mounted lights to light up the front of my storage barn and the walkway to the garage.These lights are extremely bright with LEDS emitting up to 38400 lumens. (For perspective, an average florescent floodlight will produce about 700 to 1000 lumens.) The light wattage is selectable between 150W, 200W, 240W. The higher the wattage you use, the higher the pole you can use to raise the light and subsequently, the greater area that can be flooded in a pool of light on the ground.Out of the box these lights seem built for commercial applications. They are made from die cast aluminum which provides extreme durability and protection from vandalism, and the finned side provides super heat dissipation. The lights should provide near 50,000 hours of continuous operation which is near six years of continuous indoor use. Nearer to 20 years if you use the lights dusk to dawn feature so they only run when it's dark. Even the light emitting side has a PC lens (Polycarbonate lens). This means it's almost unbreakable and should survive most anything vandals could throw at it.Having an IP65 water-resistance rating means this light can survive water sprays and splashes and will survive heavy downpours, but cannot be submerged. It is also 100 percent dust proof.These lights should perform well in almost any outdoor situation. They come with a two-inch steel pole mount, a hardware kit, an instruction sheet and a five-year warranty. I plan to use this light to illuminate the yard and driveway, but it would be great for any walkway, alcove, behind buildings, pool area, pretty much anywhere that needs to be illuminated at night.

I purchased this LED Parking Lot Light for a large driveway and yard area, and it exceeded my expectations. The selectable wattage feature (150W/200W/240W) is extremely useful because it lets you adjust the brightness depending on the application. At the 240W setting, this light is incredibly bright with excellent 5000K daylight output and wide coverage.The build quality feels solid and commercial-grade. I also appreciated the 2-in-1 Arm & Slip Fitter mounting options, which made installation much easier and flexible for different pole setups. The included photocell works perfectly, automatically turning the light on at dusk and off at dawn without any issues.Another big plus is the energy efficiency compared to older metal halide fixtures. This is one big heavy chunky light. And the pole/wall mount is also heavy! The size of the bolts is pretty much a give away. Talking of the bolts, you will need a good set of hex keys of a pretty large size.The mounting kit will grip to a standard sized pole, or you can mount it directly to a wall. The power cable threads through the mount directly to the pole. You can angle the light with the teeth connector and then tighten the holding bolt to lock it in place. This is easy in theory, a little more annoying in practice because of the weight. A seasoned electrician should have no problem, it's just amateurs like me who struggle!The controls for this are behind a screw "button". This screw has a rubber seal at the top of the threads to maintain a water tight seal. In here you can find the controls to disable the light photocell, and to change the brightness. In my testing I didn't find the power rating to match the sticker; I got 125/165/210W in the three settings at 120V. They definitely got bright enough, though!Even at 125W these 96 LEDs gave off a fair bit of heat. The back of the light is a pretty large heat sink and I could feel that working to take the heat away from the chips. I don't foresee any overheating issues.

This is definitely a serious high-output light and not something subtle for a small porch. Once installed it lights up a very large area and would work well for driveways, shops, barns, parking areas, or larger outdoor spaces.The selectable wattage feature is helpful since you can tune the brightness level a bit depending on the installation location. Build quality feels solid overall with a sturdy housing and commercial-style design.Installation takes more effort than a basic residential flood light, but that’s expected for something this powerful. Overall it performs well and gives off excellent coverage for larger outdoor applications.

I've only had this for a few days after installing, so cannot review as to durability or long term pluses and minuses.This is my 5th variation on outdoor LED lights. Even the smallest were impressive with their brightness. The medium ones in my shops (UFO style) illuminate the room so much better than the old inky bulbs.This LED monster lights up the entire outside parking area in a blaze. It feels well constructed and has a 5 year warranty but companies do come and go I have noticed.I would prefer a motion sensor, or a mechanical timer for on/off periods; it will be easy to run the current through a separate box first to add these in.
