I received this 42-inch retractable ceiling fan from the Homlit Store in white for our girls' bedroom. They have a triple bunk bed, and we had to remove their previous ceiling fan because the blades were too close to the bunk bed. That meant they lost the extra airflow they were used to having.This retractable design was exactly what I was looking for. The blades extend while the fan is running and retract when it is off, so it doesn't have large traditional fan blades constantly sticking out. The girls are super happy to finally have some air circulating in their room again.I also really like that it has multiple speeds, a dimmable LED light, and both remote and app controls. Then when you turn it on the blades come out.One of the things about this 42-inch fan is that it is a flush mount. If you have ever lived in a place with ceilings, you know it can be a problem with regular fans. You do not want to get hit on the head with a fan blade. This 42-inch fan stays out of the way, so you do not have to worry about that.I am also happy that this 42-inch fan does not have pull chains. It comes with a control and an app so you can change the speed of this 42-inchfan from your bed. You do not have to get up to do it.The light on this fan is dimmable, which is useful. You can make it brighter when you need to find something, or you can make it dimmer when you are just relaxing. The motor of this fan is very quiet. It is a DC motor, so it does not make a noise. In the summer this 42-inch keeps the air cool. In the winter you can reverse it to push the warm air down.Overall, this fan is a sleek and smart little fan. This fan looks great it is quiet. It does not take up a lot of space. I think it is worth it if you want something that looks modern and actually works.
