Pros:Bright output for their compact sizeTrue blacklight effectMakes fluorescent colors really popAdjustable spotlight angleCompact and easy to positionOutdoor-rated IP66 housingGreat for Halloween decorationsTwo lights includedCons:NoneThese are compact little blacklights, but they put out a surprisingly good amount of light. The blacklight effect looks very similar to the old-school fluorescent tube blacklights I remember, and fluorescent colors really pop when illuminated by them.I got these primarily for Halloween decorations, and they're perfect for that application. The relatively focused beam makes it easy to illuminate a specific decoration or section of the yard, and the adjustable head lets you aim the light exactly where you need it.The housings do get warm while they're running, but mine haven't gotten excessively hot during use.One thing to know is that I don't see an on/off switch on the lights themselves. When they're plugged in, they're on. That's not an issue for my use since I can control them from the outlet, a timer, or a smart plug, but it's worth knowing before you install them.Overall, I'm impressed by how much blacklight output these produce considering their small size. They make fluorescent decorations and colors stand out extremely well and should be a great addition to my Halloween setup.

An Easy Way to Add Purple to My Halloween Lighting

I've been building up my outdoor Halloween lighting, and I wanted dedicated purple spotlights that I could aim at decorations, landscaping, or the house instead of trying to make my regular outdoor lighting do everything. This pair of ZZZX 9W lights fits that job nicely.I like using colored spotlights because they can change the appearance of decorations I already own. A skeleton, tree, wall, or other feature can look completely different once it's washed in purple light after dark. That lets me create a larger overall Halloween atmosphere without buying another physical decoration for every empty area. The stake-style design also makes positioning easy. I can move the lights around and experiment with the angle until I see what actually looks best at night. That's important because lighting that seems perfectly positioned during the day can look completely different once everything else goes dark.Having two matching lights is useful because I can either illuminate one larger area from different directions or separate them to highlight two different parts of the display. These are accent lights rather than something I'd use for normal outdoor visibility, and that's exactly what I wanted. For Halloween displays, haunted-yard setups, parties, or anyone wanting to add a strong purple effect outdoors, a pair of dedicated spotlights can make existing decorations look considerably more dramatic.

Perfect for Halloween

These lights are really bright and give off a great blacklight effect. I got them for Halloween and they make neon and glow-in-the-dark decorations stand out really well. They’re easy to position and feel sturdy enough for outdoor use. Just keep in mind that they do need to be plugged in, they’re not solar powered. Overall, I’m really happy with them and would definitely recommend!

Very nice blacklights for Halloween.Very nice blacklights for Halloween.

I love decorating for Halloween every year. This season, I'll add the 9W Halloween Outdoor Spotlight 2-Pack blacklights. They seem to work much better than my older 12W blacklights from a couple years ago, which means I might be able to cover two props with each light - newer LED tech might be the reason. The pack gives you two ways to set them up: use the ground spikes or the wall attachments. I'll use the wall mounts to trees in my yard. They'll aim any way I want to make my props glow nicely and they'll just plug into extension cords which I place throughout the yard. The waterproof design should hold up fine outside in the rain, since I put many props up for the month of October.

Love these 9W spotlights

These 9W Halloween outdoor spotlights are perfect for my spooky display during the Halloween season. Unlike a lot of the other black lights similar to these, these are true 9W, which makes neon colors look like they are glowing when illuminated. The lights are pretty strong, shining about 15-20 feet, which is more than enough for what I’ll be using them for. The waterproof feature makes using them worry-free as one of them will be almost submerged in water. The biggest drawback I can see is the length of the cord. The cord isn’t very long and I’m going to need a double headed extension to get them linked together. This isn’t a big deal though as I’d most likely need an extension, even if they were longer.Over, I am really enjoying these spotlights and will be getting plenty of use out of them come Halloween time. These are an excellent purchase for the price.

Bright, Durable & Perfect for Halloween and UV EffectsBright, Durable & Perfect for Halloween and...

The ZZXX 9W Halloween Outdoor Blacklight Spotlights are a fantastic addition to any Halloween display, glow party, or outdoor event. This two-pack provides plenty of UV lighting to create an eye-catching atmosphere, making fluorescent decorations, body paint, neon signs, and glow-in-the-dark décor stand out with vibrant intensity. The 400–405nm wavelength produces a strong blacklight effect that really makes UV-reactive colors pop.The lights are surprisingly bright for their compact size, and the focused 45-degree beam does an excellent job highlighting decorations, trees, pathways, walls, or specific display areas. Whether used indoors or outdoors, they create a dramatic effect that's perfect for haunted houses, Halloween yard displays, birthday parties, stage productions, or themed events.Installation couldn't be easier thanks to the plug-and-play design. I appreciated having two mounting options, allowing the lights to be placed in the ground with the included stakes or mounted to a wall or other surface for a more permanent setup. The 270-degree adjustable head makes it easy to direct the light exactly where it's needed without having to constantly reposition the entire fixture. The IP66 waterproof rating adds extra confidence for outdoor use. The lights held up well in changing weather conditions, making them ideal for extended Halloween displays or outdoor celebrations. The housing feels solid and durable, and everything appears to be built to withstand regular seasonal use.Another feature I liked is how energy efficient these LED spotlights are. They stay cool during operation while providing consistent, bright UV illumination for hours. The compact design also makes them easy to store between holidays without taking up much space.Overall, these ZZXX Blacklight Spotlights offer excellent brightness, durability, and versatility at a great value. They're perfect for Halloween decorations, glow parties, fluorescent artwork, body paint, holiday displays, bars, clubs, and special events. If you're looking for dependable outdoor blacklights that are easy to install and produce an impressive UV effect, this two-pack is an outstanding choice. I would definitely purchase them again and highly recommend them.

Less Than Ideal for Real-World Application/UseLess Than Ideal for Real-World Application/Use

This is a visually interesting UV light kit with a solid aluminum housing and a nice range of color effects, shifting between blues, purples, and pinks depending on the surface it’s shining on.That said, usability left something to be desired. The instructions were not very clear, and assembly required some trial and error—specifically removing a small recessed nut to properly attach and adjust the mounting bracket. Once set up, positioning can still be limiting depending on how you want to use the lights. The cable length is extremely short, so an extension cord is almost certainly required. Each light also operates independently, meaning you’ll need multiple outlets if you want to use both units together. Additionally, there’s no built-in on/off switch, so operation requires plugging and unplugging each time, which can be inconvenient—especially for outdoor use.The housing feels sturdy, but I have some reservations about long-term durability if exposed to the elements. The light unit itself also doesn’t sit flat without the included ground spike, which limits placement options unless you create your own support.Overall, these lights produce a fun visual effect, but the short cords, lack of controls, and somewhat cumbersome setup impact the overall experience—especially considering the price.

Works as expected. No on/off controlsWorks as expected. No on/off controls

I was interested in this set of outdoor black lights for use in Halloween displays. The lights are pretty compact, though I don’t think I’ll be able to use the box they came in for storage: the set includes brackets that serve as the base for the lights. You can screw them into place using screwdrivers and wall anchors that come in the set, or there is a thread at the bottom of the bracket that allows you to mount them on the lawn spikes. It bulks them out a little more to keep the brackets on but I think I’d rather find a bigger box for storage than have to completely remove the brackets for storage every time, and keeping the brackets on bulks them out a little more. Either way, I can never make the power cables as compact as they are brand new, so it will be easier for me to find a different storage solution.A small instruction slip is included which goes into how to install the lights, though it is very basic. For example, the bracket has an angled groove to it which allows you to angle the light as needed. It gives a lot of flexibility overall; you can basically pivot the light 180 degrees. The instructions don’t say anything about how to orient the bracket to the light, but in my opinion it’s worth making sure the lowest part of that angled groove is facing forward because then you can get the most compact fold for storage purposes. The slip also mentions a couple of other things worth noting: As stated on this page, the waterproof grading is only for rainfall so you can’t put the lights under water. It also mentions you can’t replace the LED module in the lamp, so once the bulbs burn out or get damaged you’ll need to replace the entire thing. There is no power switch; it just turns on when you plug it in, so if you are planning to use them outdoors they’re most suitable if you have a power strip with a timer on it. You’ll want to shop around a little more if you’re interested in lights that come with their own timer switch. They gave off a good purple-colored light and picked up the responsive elements in the room I tested them in as expected. The combination of the purple-colored light with the blacklight to pick up responsive elements will work well to add a spooky ambience for our outdoor Halloween decor. I like that there’s some flexibility for how to install them. I think they’ll mainly be good for decorating a relatively small area, but my plan was basically to point them toward the front door so I expect the two lamps will be more than enough.
