12X 30X Large Magnifying Glass with Light and Clamp

It's a bit clunky (the only reason I took off one star), the arm is long and you have to figure out where to clamp the base in order to see through the glass exactly how you want, but once you figure that out it works great! The light is perfect, I like the size of the magnifying glass, and the arm and glass are both capable of tightening so they don't move while you are performing your task.I store it in the box it came in with the bubble wrap covering the glass to ensure it doesn't break. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I bought this to replace another one that I had bought three years ago that my puppy chewed through the cord. When I got last time was no longer available. When I got this one, I immediately noticed that the magnifying glass and all of that housing around it is made of thin plastic. My old one was a heavy glass and metal housing. This one says it’s a 12 times and a 30 times. I don’t believe it is. I compared it to my glass 12× one and it does not magnify as much. And the 30× claim is a joke. It is a very tiny circle on the glass that I don’t know how you could even hold something under and see anything I tried. All it does is block your view viewing for that little part. The other problem that’s the bigger problem is that I put it on the corner of my coffee table that opens up to be like a table and then you have storage in it and then you close it. It is now stuck up there and I cannot get it off. It is not because I screwed it too tight. It’s because now when you turn it I don’t know if it came with this stripped screw, but it will not come off my table now and I don’t really know what I’m gonna do. Luckily the clamp that goes on the table is also plastic which it was metal in the old one. I will probably just have to use a hammer and break the plastic. I canceled the return because I can’t get it off my table so I can’t return it. To be fair, I have not reached out to them to see what they can do so I will update this review if I’m able to work something out with them.

I'm 44 with 4 and 6 year old sons. I'm constantly having to fix little toys and glue things back together. I also tinker with wood carving, fly tying, and other hobbies that require tight eyesight. Unfortunately my eyes aren't what they used to be.This is magnifying glass has been a nice addition to my office. It clamps easily to my desk without marring the wood. It's easily adjustable, but can also be secured if you don't want it to move. The light is bright and adjustable. I only wish it was a little bigger, but it's still really handy. I appreciate that I can fold it up and put it away when I don't need it, or I need to move it to my workshop. I was putting it away after using it, but as I write this I realize it's been acting as an additional desk lamp!
