[Style: With 2.0A Battery, Style: With 2.0A Battery]
This compact reciprocating saw offers good performance for typical homeowner and DIY projects. It won't replace a professional-grade saw, but its cordless design, variable-speed trigger, and included blades make it a convenient and affordable choice for smaller jobs. What I Like:Good power for its size: Handles wood and general DIY cutting without feeling underpowered.Compact design: Easy to maneuver and useful in tighter spaces.Cordless convenience: No extension cord needed, especially helpful outdoors.Variable-speed trigger: Provides better control for different materials.Tool-free blade changes: Quick and convenient.Good value: Includes a battery, charger, and wood- and metal-cutting blades. What I Don't Like:2.0Ah battery: Fine for smaller jobs but may require recharging during longer projects.Limited battery platform: Doesn't integrate with major cordless tool ecosystems. Not for heavy-duty work: Better suited for homeowners and DIYersBlade release is somewhat stiff: It may take a little practice to get comfortable with. This is a solid choice for my occasional outdoor DIY use. This is comparable to my Ryobi but for half the price. I have other Galax tools and they are great if you are on a budget.

This is the second tool I have gotten from this brand and I am getting very happy with the overall quality and affordability of these tools. This cordless reciprocating saw is a great tool to add to your collection and a very affordable price. With this tool, you get a variable speed tool, one battery, a charger and 5 saw blades (3 wood cutting and 2 metal cutting varieties). The tool is relatively light duty and fits well in your hand. It has a good amount of power for a compact saw. While it has a tool-free, blade changing capability, I found that to be a little bit awkward and a little on the “stiff” side. But maybe that will just take a title bit of time to get used to. The smaller size of the tool enables you to get into tighter spaces and therefore makes this a little more versatile than some other larger tools. I’m not sure how many charge/recharge cycles the battery will take as that comes with extended use. I like that the battery has an indicator that tells you how much “juice” you have left. Only having one battery means that if you run out of juice in the middle of a session, you will have to wait for the battery to get recharged, but it seems to recharge fairly quickly. Overall, this is a good buy and I would recommend to the handyperson, homeowner, DIY’er.

Powerful and useful little reciprocating saw for a great price

[Style: With 2.0A Battery]
I used this to cut up some tree branches, i recently cut off a tree, even though it is not it's intended use. It cut through those branches in no time like it was butter. It comes with two sets of blades, one for wood/drywall and the other two are for metal. I only tried the wood one as I do not have metal to cut. This can easily be a great addition to your tool box, it's easy to insert the blades into the tool end and with ease it locks right in. The battery clicks right into place and for me without a lot of force. This comes with a charger for the battery, although not my preferred style it just works fine, and at least the plug will tell you if it is charged with a green light, and red for charging. The safety features are a locking mechanism for the button, it locks the button in place. Next up I will use this to repair some decking for easier repair.Pros:Powerful for the priceChews through wood with easeVariable speed triggerEasy blade changeConsNo caseNon-standard battery designOnly a 2 Amp hour batteryPSIt's great for occasional use, definitely what pros would not use as there are better options for them in terms of reliability and longevity. As a new homeowner I do find this tool rather useful on occasions that I really need it, and will definitely be using this in the future for my projects.

A reciprocating saw is a very handy tool to have. When I found this was available through the Amazon Vine Program, I requested one for review. What you get:1 x Reciprocating Saw. Model 977051 x 20V Lithium Battery, 2.0 Ah1 x Charger w/5.5 x 2.1 mm male barrel connector3 x Wood Cutting Blades, 6”2 x Metal Cutting Blades. 6 “1 x Owner’s Manual1 x Warranty CardI used this to cut up some old pallents and was genuinely impressed with the performance. It seemed to have plenty of power, was easy to control, and made short work of the pallets.BatteryThe included 20V battery performed well during testing, but because GALAX PRO isn't one of the major cordless tool ecosystems, buyers should consider long-term battery availability if they plan to expand into additional cordless tools.ChargingWhen the charger is plugged in to AC voltage, the LED glows solid green. When the battery is charging, the led on the charger glows solid red. When the battery is fully charged, the LED glows solid green.Build Quality:It feels solid and comfortable in the hands. The battery fit is excellent with a solid connection. The motor is a conventional brushed design (I could see the commutator through the cooling vents during operation). While it isn't as efficient as a brushless motor, that's not surprising at this price, and it performed well for typical DIY cutting tasks.BladesIt actually uses standard reciprocating saw blades. I had no trouble fitting blades from other manufacturers, so replacements and upgrades should be easy to find. Don’t rely on the manual for instructions regarding blade replacement. Just push the blade clamping lever in the direction of the arrows, insert the blade fully, and release. It’s as simple as that. Removal is the same operation.Owner’s ManualThe manual is not very detailed and even includes some minor inaccuracies. There is no explanation of charging behavior. Don’t expect a parts list or exploded parts diagram. Save the manual for the after sales service e-mail.Pros:Variable speed triggerBattery powered for portability7/8” stroke5-7/8” cutting depthTool-less blade changeUses standard reciprocating saw blades (Bosch, Milwaukee, Diablo, Lenox, DeWalt, and other standard reciprocating saw blades)Cons:No injection molded caseNo battery ecosystemLimited battery capacityBottom Line:For occasional DIY use, I think it's easy to recommend. Is it as good as a major brand name saw? Probably not, but if it gets the job done a few times a year a homeowner finds need of one. For under $60, it’s hard to beat – excellent value for the money!

Fantastic for What it Is

[Style: With 2.0A Battery]
I got his tool mainly because I wanted a small reciprocating saw for jobs where dragging out a larger, heavier tool seemed like overkill. A 20v saw at this size is that perfect gap filler between small enough for a hand saw and big enough to run an extension cord. My first real use for it was taking apart an old garden box that had rotted badly along one side, and it turned out to be pretty much perfect for the job. This definitely isn’t an especially powerful reciprocating saw, and I wouldn’t expect it to replace a full-size corded or higher-powered cordless model for heavy demolition work. That said, it had enough power to cut through the old boards and fasteners I needed to deal with, and the smaller size made it much easier to maneuver around the box. And, being battery powered, I didn't have to mess around with running a power cord out to the garden, Totally a win for me.I can see this being extremely handy. It’s compact, easy to grab, and saves me from hauling out a bigger saw when the job really doesn’t require one. I’m sure I’ll find plenty of other uses for it around the house and yard. The battery lasted throughout my garden box job. The included blades were easy to use and strong enough for what I was tearing apart.Highly recommended.
