The auto-lock on this tape is addictive. No more fumbling for a thumb lock while trying to hold the tape in place with the other hand. The magnetic hook is strong enough to hang on conduit and steel studs without sliding, which makes one-person measuring far less irritating. The fraction markings are printed clearly, which is a genuine help for anyone who would rather not do the math in their head on a ladder.Stand-out is about 8 feet before it buckles, which is respectable for a 25-footer. The case has a rubber grip that does not slide off my belt. I have been using it daily for three weeks on a commercial job.One nitpick: the 16-inch stud marks are the same size as the ordinary inch marks. My previous tape used larger arrows at the stud intervals and they were faster to pick out at a glance. Otherwise this is the tape I keep reaching for.

This is a really well made tape measure, and I have a lot of them to compare to! I usually prefer a 25 foot tape measure but sometimes you want something. That’s a bit smaller and the 16 foot is a great size for that. By the way, the 25 mm on the label refers to the width of the tape itself when flattened it’s quite a bit wider than another 16 foot tape measure I have and that combined with the aggressive curve on the tape allows it to have about a 7 foot stand out.The tape itself appears very high-quality with a really nice finish. It is printed in both sides, although only the front side shows the fractional increments within each inch. Above 1 foot, measurements are displayed both in inches as well as foot and inches. There are the traditional marks every 16 inches and 19-7/32 for laying out framing.The body fits comfortably in my hand and the lock button is easy to operate. The shell is made from high quality injection molded plastic, rubber, and metalized plastic. The lock button is the type that automatically locks and you press the button to extend or retract the tape. It works well and at least for now does not slip.The end hook does have a rare earth magnet that sticks well to steel. This means it doesn’t have a hole to allow measuring from a nail which is often useful in framing. It also makes the hook quite thick and the rivets allow a lot of travel to compensate so that you can measure correctly either on the back or front of the hook. However my example is off by about 1/32 of an inch when measuring to the front of the hook, despite being dead on from the back and the tape itself being dead on my reference. Probably not enough to affect most users but definitely not the greatest for a measuring tool to be inaccurate. The third picture shows the 1/32 overshoot at the end of the tape when the rest of the numbers are perfectly aligned.The first picture shows the size compared to a 25 ft tape measure. The second shows how the body length of the tape measure is not a nice round number that you can add to the measurement when measuring inside dimensions. Not does the lowest section stick out the farthest so the extra you would need to add depends on where on the body your object intersects. Most tape measures have this feature but this one doesn’t appear to.Overall a really high quality tape measure but the length inaccuracy and the lack of a body measurement for inside measuring knocks it down to a 4 star for me.

Way better than DeWalt/Stanley and on-par with milwaukee IMO.This tape measure is very durable and spans 25 feet.The tape measure dispenses very quickly and moves smoothly when in use. My favorite part about this tape measure is it shows measurements in smaller increments. This makes it ideal when you're measuring things but need it to be more precise. Most tape measures out there do not include these smaller increment measurements for some reason and I tend to stop using them over time.In terms of quality, I would put this around the Milwaukee tier. It just feels heavy duty, ergonomically easy to use, and is a pleasure to use.I also like that it has rubber edges so when it drops, it doesn't crack and resists impact.The auto-lock feature is a very handy feature especially when you're constantly measuring things and hate it retracting back. The button also feels nice around the hand and fingers so again, just very ergonomically comfortable to use overall.Clips on tight to your pants or toolbelt and removes easily when needed with just a slight upward force.Will be my new go-to tape measure to keep around in my toolbag! Already a significantly better tape measure to use than anything Stanley or DeWalt makes IMO!

I recently added this twenty five foot measuring tape to my toolkit, and it has quickly become my favorite tool for household and woodworking projects. The double sided blade is incredibly well thought out, featuring a horizontal layout on the front and a vertical layout on the back. This makes reading measurements very convenient from absolutely any angle. The one eighth inch fractional markings are exceptionally clear and easy to read, which completely takes the guesswork out of making precise cuts. The auto lock feature works flawlessly, holding the tape securely in place while I work.The build quality of this measuring tape is also outstanding. The shock absorbing housing with the stylish UV plated red trim feels very sturdy in the hand. I really appreciate the oversized magnetic dual hook, which attaches firmly to metal surfaces and supports both front and reverse measuring tasks. The red sixteen inch stud markings on both sides are a huge time saver for framing. With the included belt clip, nylon strap, and carabiner, it is very easy to carry around the workshop. I highly recommend this tool to any builder or contractor.

This is a great tape measure. I have almost completely switched over to tape measures that have a lock when you extend the tape away from the housing.There is nothing more annoying than a tape that slides back into the housing just when you need it to use it. This measure doesn't do that.When you extend it, the tape measure remains extended until you push the button to retract it into the housing. Sure, there are other tapes on the market, that do the same thing. The difference with this one is the end of the tape measure actually has a magnet on the end of it.This is incredibly useful when you spend a lot of time cutting metal objects like I do. The next test for a tape measure is what is the standout distance or how far can you push the tape out before it breaks under its own weight. I found this to be about five feet which is about average for most measures.When you push the button to retract the tape, be cautious because the spring is very strong. I didn't keep my fingers completely out of the way and got a blood blister on my index finger. Ouch!Overall, I really like this tape. The markings are easy to see, the return spring is strong and it stays where it's supposed to until you press the retract button. To make it perfect, i would have liked to have seen metric measurements too.Highly recommended.

This tape measure is so handy I keep it where I can always get to it easily! There are so many great features on this, especially the fact that it has auto-lock. The blade holds itself out and never tries to retract unless you want it to. You push the button on the front of the case slightly and the blade retracts slowly, if you want it to retract quickly hold the button all the way down. It is nice to have two retract speeds and a way to control it. The blade is very easy to read, it has a matte finish so there won’t be a glare on it and the numbers are a bold black and big enough to see easily. I also like that the tape measure is double sided and can be read from different angles. Another handy feature is that the measurements have the fractions labeled and red 16 inch markings for studs if you need them for construction projects. The magnet on the end of the hook is strong and stays in place well when measuring something metal, that is very helpful if you’re measuring something by yourself. The hook is also wider than usual and has a dual hook design. The case is shock absorbent and feels like it will be very durable. It has a very good looking electroplated finish that is red and black, this the most stylish tape measure I have ever had! The black is rubberized and along with the grips on the top it makes the tape measure easy to hold. There is a belt clip attached to it that will fit easily on your clothes or a tool bag, as well as a wrist strap and a carabiner that make it easy to keep close by when you’re using it. This is a great value for such a versatile and high quality tape measure that would make a great gift for anyone who does DIY projects or would use it at their job.
