Best hinges I've ever used for doors I needed to self close. I needed hinges for my crawl space and decided to get these type of hinges and WOW was I glad I did choose these. Now at least when I leave the crawl space, I don't have to worry about crawling out and leaving for a few minutes without the door blowing open. Good strong hinge which can be counted on. Highly recommended.

These hinges feel very sturdy and well made. I was specifically looking for something that wouldn't feel flimsy because they're going to get regular use, and these definitely have a solid feel to them. The construction seems durable and the hinges operate smoothly.They feel like they should hold up well to repeated opening and closing rather than becoming loose or wobbly after a short time. Overall, I'm really happy with the quality so far and feel like these are a good choice for a gate that gets used frequently. The installation is pretty on point with ease, you just screw them in!

This 4-pack of heavy-duty steel self-closing gate hinges are perfectly functional and simple to install. For $54, I think they are a great value for the money because they are more durable and all metal versus the similarly priced cheaper plastic hinges. These are built to last and they have a nice and consistent black powder coated finish to keep them from rusting in the outdoor elements. The only negative I can mention are the installation screws included with the hinges are not great quality, and they don't match, they are silver and would look better if they were black to match the hinges. I also snapped off 2 of the screw heads when installing them with my cordless drill so just turn the drill down a notch or 2. I didn't remove stars because of the screws because the hinges are so well made, but I wanted to mention it in the review. These hinges are not adjustable so essentially, they are a "one size fits all" for the self-closing feature but I have no complaints. They operate smoothly and efficiently once installed. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these quality-made gate hinges again, and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!

When these arrived the box was quite heavy!! These are very heavy duty. These are very heavy-duty. I was pleasantly surprised by how heavy the box was when they arrived. The size is pretty good for a gate, but many gate hinges are longer on the gate side, so that there is more to attach to. These are 1.5x1.5 inches where they attach to the gate and to the post. That's good for versatility, in case you only have a 2x4 that you are attaching to. The springs in them are strong enough for me. Depending on the size of your gate, you may have to be careful that it doesn't slam shut too hard. The spring power seems about right to me, for the size of the hinges, but it will definitely depend on your gate. They didn't have any kind of padding in the box between the hinges, and I was fine with that. They are so heavy-duty that they shouldn't get bent, but they could get a little scratched. The only reason for taking off a star is the $63.99 price. I personally think that's a pretty high price for what they are, even though they are heavy duty.

We have several gates in the yard and prefer that they stay closed, but not necessarily locked or latched. These 4x heavy duty hinges and hardware arrived quickly and look great. They are strong and have a lot of tension.The level of tension is fixed and non-adjustable, which is fine so far.I quickly installed one set and they attached easily and quickly since the gate was already in place and I was just replacing the existing hinges.I’d suggest leaving the existing hinges on, then install these around them, and remove the old ones and will repainting later.The black coating is shiny, thick and looks nice & protective. I am aware that it is more of a coating with a special application, and should more rugged and long lasting, similar to powder coating.The tops of the screws are also painted to match. These hinges appear durable and should be long lasting.I’m not sure why or what the 2x little silver screws at the top and bottom of the hinges are. The hinges aren’t supposedly adjustable, and they stand out from the black, so why ? Maybe I’ll paint them. Directions for mounting and the screw/hardware are included. Nothing is stainless that I see per my magnet. May have to oil and/or grease them periodically.The price was fair, reasonable and inline with high quality exterior hinges.The engineering, design, manufacturing & packaging are great, and they currently fit & function well, and are strong and made to last.
