This listing has several variations of the polishing blocks with different grit or patterns (full vs square pattern vs mesh). I ordered the square pattern of four grit sizes: 60, 100, 200, 400. They come on four blocks of different colors.One thing that wasn't originally clear from the listing is the material for the handle block. It appears to be made of high density closed cell PU foam. You can compress them with a finger, but they don't flex much. The material is comfortable to hold by hand.The abrasive part is a metal plate with diamond grit on one side. With that plate attached to the foam block, there's almost no flex in that.I specifically wanted to have diamond sanding pads for sharpening skis. Having different grit size helps in efficiently working through deeper scratches. I sharpen my skis at 88 degrees (rather common value) and needed a jig. The jig was easy to make on a 3D printer out of PETG plastic that can slide easily on the ski surface. It's a simple block with cutouts made at an angle. Having two cutouts allows the block to be used on both sides. The softer sanding block material makes it easy to fit into the jig's precise cutout.At the current price of $10, the set of four sanding blocks is relatively inexpensive and is useful in sanding harder surfaces.

This set of sanding blocks is great to have one hand. They’re all a pretty fine grit, but each is a little different. I appreciate how comfortable they are to hold. I find these much easier to hold than a hard plastic block even if it has a handle. Each of these works super well for sanding cured resin. I’ve also used them to help smooth out scratches on inside doors. I didn’t want to take a chance of sanding off too much of the door and unintentionally changing the size. These worked perfectly to smooth without buffing away too much depth. I will absolutely get these again as I need more, but I’m surprised at how much sanding I’ve been able to do and yet it still seems there’s plenty of material left on the “block” (to me it feels more like a sponge) for a lot more uses. Due to how long these seem to be lasting, you’ll absolutely get your money’s worth.

This is my first set of diamond sanding blocks, and overall they're okay. They don't replace regular sandpaper for me, but they definitely have their own uses.I've used them on 3D prints and aluminum, and they performed well on both. One clear advantage over regular sandpaper is that they don't gum up during us on plastics and softer metals.The foam backing on the blocks is good and solid, not squishy or spongy, which gives decent control while sanding. My main complaint is that the metal backer plate the diamond grit is bonded to is fairly thin, and it will bend under pressure, which I'd count as a real negative. Because of that thinness and flex, I wouldn't recommend these for sharpening chisels or plane blades, unless you're just working on already beat up, junk chisels where precision doesn't matter much. For actual edge sharpening work requiring a flat, rigid surface, these aren't the right tool.Another limitation worth noting, the diamond grit doesn't extend all the way to the edge of the block, so you can't get into tight corners or narrow areas with these, that's just not what they're designed for.I'll be keeping these around to see how they hold up. I think for me, I will mostly use them on metal. I don't have enough use time yet to speak to long term durability.

At least for sanding wood these blocks will stay sharp for a very long time. The cross channels help prevent dust from loading the abrasive requiring you to smack the block constantly to clear it.To be clear these are rigid sanding plates backed by foam blocks for easy gripping. The abrasive itself is electroplated onto a metal plate, so the sanding surface is actually rigid and not flexible as might be suggested by attachment to a foam block. There is no resilient backing and it should be used and treated just like sandpaper on a rigid block such as wood. And although it is far more durable than sandpaper you can still erode the diamond grit if you abuse it by concentrating too much pressure in a single area, like trying to deburr a metal edge by sanding along the edge instead of across it.I have diamond-embedded plates like this that I have had around for decades and they still work. In finer grits I use diamond-embedded metal plates similar to these (but without the cross pattern) for touching up the flat faces of carbide router bits to remove glaze and keep them sharp. I have used them on porcelain tiles and glass as well as carbide and high speed steel (again using finer grits). If you use these for wood or non-ferrous metals they can last years.

These are pretty decent. The foam is the part is soft enough that it doesn't chew up my palm during a long session but firm enough to back the plate properly.The color coding is very convenient. I can grab what I need without flipping each one over to hunt for the number, which is handy during big projects.The diamond pattern is genuinely different from regular abrasive. It's laid out in a grid with open channels between the cutting surfaces, and the results come out more even than what I get off standard sheets — I think because the gaps let debris clear instead of packing up and creating high spots. The coarser blocks have wide open squares, the finer ones are much denser, so you can see the difference at a glance even ignoring the color.My one real complaint is that the grit is only on one face. Anything with a tight corner, a narrow groove, or an inside curve, and you're out of luck — you've got a flat surface and nothing else to work with. A wrapped edge or even grit on two sides would open these up a lot.Overall these are a solid value, but most projects require smaller pieces to finish.

What you receive is a set of 4 Diamond Hand Polishing Pads with sanding blocks for 60#, 100#, 200# and 400# grits. Each grit is on a block of dense sponge base that measures 1-1/8H x 2-3/8W x 3-5/8L. These pads are ideal for hand polishing of tile, glass, metal, stone, ceramics, granite, wood and other surface polishing. The diamond pads work well for both wet and dry polishing and with the sponge pad will reduce dust and keep the surface cool while polishing. The 60# grit is ideal for fast coarse grinding and material removal. The 100# and 200# are ideal for medium grinding and for shaping details and removing scratches from the coarse grinding. The 400# is ideal for fine polishing and to create a smooth surface. Wet use is recommended for better results but these can also be used for dry polishing.The blocks fit comfortably in the hand and the end of the pad displays the grit of the pad. While you may be able distinguish the grits initially on the pad, after some use, you might want to consider using a Sharpie marker to trace over the grit markings on the end of the pads.These are good pads with a good assortment of grits. Depending on how heavy these are used they should be durable and last. The price for each pad is about at the current listed price is a just under $2.25 each so a pretty good deal. This is a decent set of hand pads that function well for the initial steps of erasing etched spots in polished concrete. I had some etched spots in my polished concrete (one unfortunately shaped spot was right in the entryway by my front door) that were sticking out like sore thumbs. I absolutely LOVE my polished concrete floors as they are practically indestructible and about as low maintenance as floors come; the only problems we’ve had arise when they come into contact with acidic substance, like a juice spill that your kid failed to notice or a middle-of-the-night hairball courtesy of your cat. Acidic substances leave white spots because the roughened surfaces left behind diffuse light, and the only way to fix it is to re-polish them. I already had an 800 grit handpad but the etching on these spots was too severe for the 800 to handle. With this set, I was able to use the 200 and 400 grit successively for the initial stages of polishing. I just sprayed the spots with water, and went to town. You can see in my photos how the etching was reduced with these two grits and then reduced further with my 800 grit pad. I need a yet higher grit to finish this job but the spots are much less apparent than they were. I haven’t used the lower grits yet, but the two grits I did use made quick work of the task for which I was employing them. They are fairly comfortable to hold during use and easy to clean. They seem durable enough, at least for my purpose of medium duty household use. They’re a good value as they work well and offer a variety of grits.

Excellent variation of sanding blocks that I can use around the house on projects that require different grit. The sanding blocks are of solid quality. I just used one for a removal of a towel bar where I patched the holes with spackle, allowed it to dry and then sanded it down smooth. The spackle did not stick to the block and the surface on the wall was perfectly even. It took very little force (if any) to achieve the base that I needed before installing the new towel bar. That's an important factor for me because I have slight arthritis/carpal tunnel in my hands and gripping things can be difficult or quickly tiring on random days. They come in easy to identify colors to not get them mixed up and I can appreciate not having to remember via rogue memory, having to look it up, having to stop to check and see which one is which. These are going to be put to great use and I highly recommend these as a product for DIY projects around the house and it's a great value for your purchase. They come in a bag if you want to place it back inside, otherwise you can leave them out. Superb product
