This tool is really good for beginners. It definitely does the job and helps you cut through metal. I have also used it to do some light woodworking and it has been great for that as well. I do want to point out that it is not the most sturdy hand saw. It definitely has some wiggle in the handle and areas where it shouldn’t. Something that can be repaired, but for the price, you shouldn’t really have to have these kind of issues. I also don’t appreciate that they write German style soft frame when this product is not made in Germany. I think it’s misleading to customers. It’s just a basic handsaw that’s nothing near German quality. That being said it’s definitely great for someone who is just starting to practice. Overall, I definitely would recommend it if you’re new to metal working. It’s also great because you get different sizes saws in a pack which is great. Overall, the quality is OK, but it does get the job done and you get enough to start working on a project immediately without having to purchase any additional items. I do think the fact that it says it’s a German style is sort of misleading and just something to keep in mind.

I was initially skeptical about this saw when I opened it. For one, it didn't appear to have a way to position the blade sideways. Also one of the hero images in the description shows an M.C. Escher picture where the saw frame is bent in impossible angle and the tightening nut goes right through the middle of the handle. In any event, after using the saw, I'm very impressed with the quality of the blades and the precision of the cuts. This is definitely a precise jeweler's tool with great blades. There's a huge number of blades (144) of six different sizes. They are all very small. To understand how small they are, if you can see the grooves on a fingerprint, you will be able to see the teeth of the large size blades. The small blades have really tiny teeth.It cuts well through wood, plastic and different metals. I attached sample images. The blades are also surprisingly durable and the handle is very comfortable. I also like a separate blade tightening nut -- it is smooth and precise. It is not a wobbly saw by any mean. The blades are held by the flat jaws and the length adjustment is pretty arbitrary. Even if you break the blade, you can adjust the distance between the clamps smaller and hold just a part of the blade.Excellent quality, even at several times higher price. At under $20 for the entire set that includes a large number of different blades, this is an excellent tool.

This is my first jeweler's saw.It does not come with directions.The listing says 144 blades. I got a package with nowhere near that many blades, or so I thought. In trying to figure out how a thick blade was going to cut intricate designs, I realized the blades are bundles, wrapped in very fine wire. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and I wasn't thinking I'd need my magnifier to see some saw blades.Anyhow there probably are 144 blades here, I only separated one bundle to try to assemble the saw.I did have to go to the internet for instructions, and I did get it set up. The listing photos don't show anything about how this is actually used. Not sure what those photos are doing but they aren't using the saw, that's for sure.So far I've just used this on a scrap piece of balsa I had, and it cut ok. I'm sure with practice I'll master this tool. I got this for working with miniatures and dioramas. This can save some craft knife blades for awhile.This seems to be quality saw and blades. I just wish there were instructions. Overall a good deal for the number of blades included.I do recommend this saw, should be a breeze if you're experienced. If not, the internet thankfully does have lots of information for how to set up and use a jeweler's saw.
