I guess it’s past time for an upgrade.This set of aluminum and steel pipe wrenches are a definite improvement over my channel-locks, strap and adjustable wrenches.These are not as lightweight as the more expensive Ridgid aluminum wrenches but still substantially lighter than the all steel versions.The steel teeth in the fixed and moving jaws are sharp. I can’t evaluate how hard or durable they are until they get more use.The knurling on the adjusting ring isn’t very deep so this might be an issue over time or if it gets oily or greasy.The adjusting ring easily moves the forged steel jaw up and down making adjustments easy.Included with the wrenches are the now near ubiquitous one size fits most woven gloves.All in all this is a good value set for most plumbing piping needs.

A pipe wrench set can be one of the very useful "tools in the toolbox" that anyone can have. I have never really had good pipe wrenches. This is a very nice wrench set -- well designed, well-executed and strong. A few basics. You really need several sizes because typically you need one wrench on a pipe and another on a pipe nut for tightening or even another pipe --- depending on the method used in joining the pipes. Invariably, those elements are different sizes, hence the need for differing sizes of wrenches. Note that in the set the wrenches increase in size by two-inch increments so that I'm covered for almost any typical situation. The general design and construction of this set is nearly identical to a steel pipe wrench I have -- except the main body of these is aluminum. That use of aluminum makes these wrenches far easier to handle since they are significantly lighter. Make no mistake, the lower jaw and the movable hook jaw are forged steel with a steel adjusting nut. The threads on the adjustment of these wrenches is identical to that of my old steel pipe wrench. Murphy's Law -- at least in my cases -- says that the pipe repair I'm doing will be on my back and reaching up to access the pipes needing repair. The lighter weight of these aluminum body wrenches is a big help especially if you drop it and it hits your body. Don't ask how I know. Unless you intend on hitting these wrenches with a sledge hammer, I believe that they will give service for a very long time. I noticed a couple traces of probable anti-rust coating (think something like "Cosmoline" of old military days) on the ground steel jaw sides -- which easily comes off with a gentle wipe of oil on a rag. Pro tip: As with any new metal threads, a bit of lubricant (please use something better than WD-40) goes a long way for smooth running adjustments. This is a really nice pipe wrench set. I like it a lot.

I picked up this 5-piece aluminum pipe wrench set because I was getting tired of attempting to get the job done with tools that were not build for it. While these wrenches are lightweight (made from aluminum) they are sturdy enough for my requirements. The jaws are easy to adjust and bite down well. I did not experience any slipping or flexing.The set of 5 wrenches should cover all sizes that might be required in a normal household.This is a great set of tools - perfect for my needs and it comes at for a fair price!

Wow! What a deal this is!I am a contractor in So Cal and I do a lot of residential remodel work that requires plumbing. My business builds custom outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and BBQ's and we work with steel gas lines all the time. All of the threaded steel pipe needs to be fitted together with thread sealant and tightened down with pipe wrenches.I recently bought a single 12" wrench at the depot for $23. This five-piece set sells for $60 and is a smoking great deal. Pipe wrenches really haven't changes much in 60 years or more. There are different designs with right angle jaws, but the wrenches are essentially the same design with a screw adjustment and a threaded jaw shaft. Slight pressure is required to cam the jaw into place and grip the pipe. Simple tools with a simple purpose. Bigger wrenches are for bigger pipe and fittings.The one major improvement over old wrenches is that the handles are mostly made of aluminum now to keep the weight down. The old cast iron wrenches could weigh 15 pounds and were more like weight lifting than wrenching pipe. These Zmwjyxx 5-Piece Aluminum Pipe Wrenches are great quality and I can't imagine ever having to buy another one. This is just an all around great set of tools at an AWESOME PRICE.

Picked these up to pull my garage sink apart and clear a clog, and they handled it without any drama. Well built and sturdy where it counts. The jaws bit down on the fittings and held, no slipping or flexing while I worked a stubborn connection loose.Having all five sizes is the real value here. I reached for a couple different ones just on this one job, and it beats being stuck trying to force the wrong size onto a fitting.Being aluminum, they're easier on the hands than the old steel wrenches I'm used to, without feeling cheap or flimsy about it. The grip is comfortable and the jaws adjust quickly.Good set of tools. Did exactly what I needed, and I expect them to hold up.
