This is a unique tool that can really save you when you’re having a hard time removing a bolt. It comes with a few different sized coils for different bolt head sizes. Functions well by heating up just the bolt, unlike a torch that will heat a larger area and produces an open flame that can be unsafe in certain circumstances. Coils are easy to swap out and you just plug it in and switch it on. Heats rapidly. As a DIY mechanic I don’t need it often but when you’re stuck with a figuring bolt it’s nice to have. At $120 it’s reasonably priced, on the lower sgd of what’s currently out there. Be aware that because this is an induction coil it will only work on ferrous metals.

As a longtime user of traditional torches for stubborn hardware, I was eager to see how a magnetic induction heater would compare. I’m relatively new to these types of tools, but after using this Elvorian 1300W kit a few times, I am genuinely impressed with how well it performs.So far, I have tested it on a handful of 3/8" bolts and a couple of 5/16" bolts that were heavily rusted. It worked very well and heated them up quickly, allowing me to break them loose without the typical struggle. The biggest advantage for me is the safety and precision. With a torch, you always have to worry about open flames near rubber, plastic, or wires. This tool concentrates the heat exactly where you need it on the fastener. The kit comes with a good selection of coils, and the unit itself feels comfortable to hold. For someone making the switch from a traditional torch, or just looking for a reliable way to handle rusted automotive fasteners without an open flame, this kit is highly effective and easy to use.

Highly efficient and easy to use, the induction heater turns on immediately when it’s plugged in, running the fan. From there it’s a single button that activates a small convenient light and the induction coil. The fan continues to run while depressed and afterwards, and the only way to turn it off is to unplug the device.Heating is extremely fast, just a few seconds. As you can see from my video, you can easily use it with just one hand. The entire unit is not very heavy, easy to hold, and relatively quiet to use (just the sound of the fan). The device comes packaged in a very odd velvet carrying case… that with a name of “Hot Rod” evokes ideas of something else that should have been in that package ;-) it also comes with 3 induction coils of different sizes and a plastic carrying case (that has to be carried separately from the velvet pouch because it won’t fit inside of it).Does it work. YES! Is it good value for the money, Yes. Is it designed for rough pro-shop work… No. The unit that was sent to me had something rattling around insider of it right out of the box. I’m still uncertain what it was, but it doesn’t get in the way of functionality. The plastic external shell is cheap feeling and seems like it’ll crack with a less than dramatic fall. Similarly, the accessory case is cheap feeling.I feel like if this was put into a better quality housing it could be a far better product, but at the price you get a functional tool without the design sturdiness and structure of a pro-tool. Note that I’m also assuming that longevity is good on the basis of several short functional tests.

I setup a little test with a steel rod and the heater. I selected an included coil and activated the heater. Within seconds the rod was getting warm and shortly after too hot to handle. This heater is serious gear. The activation and function was simple enough. Insert a heating element sized to the task, Tighten bolts on both sides. Use heater. Carefully return to kit.My use will mostly be in fabrication and occasionally breaking stuck bolts. To be clear, there isn't one part of the instructions what should be ignored~! Serious injury or fire can occur. I remove rings and set electronics at least a meter away.The heater comes with 3 pre-coiled elements. These a very easy to change ... just make sure no residual heat before trying. I unplug to be safe. There is also another element which can be bent to form. I didn't use it but liked the idea it could be patterned to form a flat shape (at the end) to heat larger items. The value of this type of heater is clear, particularly when a bolt or two are making for a bad day. Worth the cost.RECOMMEND with caution!

After always reaching for a torch whenever a stubborn bolt refused to cooperate, I'm excited to add an induction heater to the toolbox. My first impression of this unit is very positive. The build quality feels solid, the controls are straightforward, and everything fits together well. I'm looking forward to using it on a full brake job for my favorite rust bucket.At 1300 watts, I wasn't expecting this to turn bolts cherry red in an instant, and honestly I wouldn't want it to. Most of my work is on my sedans and small SUVs where controlled, localized heat is more useful than risking damage to nearby sensitive components. The flameless approach is exactly why I wanted an induction heater in the first place.The included coil assortment should cover most common automotive jobs, and I appreciate that they're stored in a dedicated plastic case instead of bouncing around the toolbox. Then there's the carrying bag for the tool itself...which is an unexpectedly luxurious velvet pouch.
