The light was pretty easy to install into an existing light mount - ours is under an soffit. Motion detect is good (maybe not great) but generally good enough for us. In order to control the light you need an app and you have to register on that app and the device does connect you your Wifi - for that you get a history of motion events. The main issue we have with the light is if you turn it off and on (from say a switch) or it loses power -- it puts itself into "manual" mode and won't sense motion or turn on with motion until you go to the app and turn it on again. Pretty poor design for an outdoor security light.

I have a few motion sensor flood lights on the house but they are solar powered. I wanted to add a couple of hard wired flood lights to the house because you can't always depend on the sun to charge the solar lights enough to work all night. Conversely, if the power goes out, the solar lights are a back up to the hard wired ones. This looked like a really good option for what I needed and it turned out to be perfect. Not only is the floodlight very bright and able to cast light a long distance, but it is also well made and has very good water resistance. Those characteristics are something I would expect out of just about any floodlight but what makes this a better option than most is the incredible amount of extras that come with this "smart WiFi floodlight". Using the phone app, you can control just about everything you can imagine on a floodlight. You can control it hands free via Alexa or google assistant. The app lets you control mundane functions like turning it on and off but you can also adjust modes, color temp, set up schedules, you can adjust the brightness and delay the shut off. The app will also log all the actions for you if you want to review them later. I mentioned that through the app you can adjust/select modes. You can choose from always on which is just what it sounds like, or smart sensing which has daylight detection and motion detection or slight light mode which gives you floodlight options that start out less harsh/less bright. The app lets you set schedules that not only control time to come on but also at what brightness. One of my favorite parts of the app is the ability to control groups of lights. I am still playing with the app but my understanding is you can schedule just the lights in the front of the house to come on at full power at a certain time (as an example) and the lights on the back of the house to be dusk to dawn lights at 50% brightness. I have only had the lights up for a short while due to waiting for house painters to finish but I'm very happy with this light and am looking forward to adding more of these to the house.

Very bright. Little finicky when used with Google. Sometimes looses its WiFi connection. No remote. Overall I am satisfied with it.

My wife and I were looking for a replacement for a light located on the back of our multifamily rental property as the current one stopped working and the pathway lacked light so when looking we decided to order this Olafus.We noted that at 65 watts with smart features that this would suffice for an outdoor fixture with a lot of modern updated features like app and voice control with an optional timer.to be able to use and adjust the light via an app on the phone is entirely convenient as opposed to being away from the unit itself or a switch because often it is too high to reach without a ladder or the switch is too far away when needing to adjust or simply shut off.The installation for this product is standard and typically with a little electrical experience one could do it themselves with a little bit of time and following the instructions. Luckily, I did have some electrical experience and was able to from start to finish complete the installation of this light in around 15 minutes.I have yet to test out the voice control that is enabled through the app as well as the timer but I can speak to it being extremely bright and having the ability to adjust all three heads of the light fixture is awesome in order to point illumination where it is needed the most. I would also point out that the motion sensor works perfectly and we leave it on this setting because at night typically the backyard is not used except for occasionally and the particular location and pathway that this is used for is not in use for a consistent amount of time as our patio, pergola, barbecue, and table and chairs are far off and out of the way.All in all, this product is of very good quality both in the options and features as well as the illumination and parts that house the electrical components.As of today it has been working through rain, wind and sun perfectly fine and we feel it is exactly as advertised and therefore, would recommend.

It is all but impossible to tell you how bright this light is. I took photos of it with my phone, but iPhones adjust light and it filtered out some of it. It’s bright enough that it’s hard to look directly at. To give you an idea, a couple of the photos I’m posting look like they were taken in a dark room or at night. They were actually taken during the day, right in front of several windows in a very bright room. That’s how much light my phone was filtering out. You can see how bright the room was at the beginning of the included video when the light is off.It’s a great light for brighting up dark, outdoor places - which is what I intended to use it for.The light comes without a plug, it’s meant to be hardwired into a lighting system. I connected it to a grounded cord I had for testing. It’s a standard black/white/green wiring setup.The light consists of three parts: the largest part is in the center and points straight forward, though the tilt can be adjusted by loosening a screw on the side. On either side of the main light are two small lights that can be aimed up or down, forward, to the side and backwards.The three lights can be focused on the same spot or over a wider area.The light can be motion activated, but it’s also a smart light with an app that can be connected to Alexa. The documentation says it can also work with Google, but I didn’t confirm that. I did connect it to my Alexa setup, and the included video shows the light responding to my voice commands via Alexa.The app is easy to install, found my Wi-Fi and the light immediately and I had it all connected to Alexa in about five minutes.The light can also be adjust manually through the app. The brightness can be adjusted as a matter of percentage, 1 - 100 and the tone of the light also can adjust bright very white, to a more yellow, daylight wavelength.And I will say again: it is very bright. I live out in a rural part of the country and this is going to be great for lighting up some of my outbuildings. With the high quality of the construction, the brightness, adjustability and compatibility with smart home/IoT, this is a whole lot of bang for the buck.
