Ok I really need to do more research before I get stuff on amazon.I got these connectors with all kinds of projects in mind. I saw the description saying these connectors are great for speaker wires. I had a vision in my head of attaching 4-6 inches of wire to my floor speakers so that I would never have to disconnect the wire from the speaker if I wanted to move the speaker. With this connector I could just separate the ends move the speaker connect it back up without having to unscrew the wire from the speaker as the space to do that is too small for my fat fingers. When I think of speaker wire I envisioned 10-14 gauge and the listing didn't list the size of wire these connectors are rated for in the pictures. Now it may have been written somewhere but silly me didn't look to hard because again I was envisioning all the things that I could do with them.Now these connectors are well built. They function nicely and they do work well. They connect easily and disconnect well too. After spending an hours digging through my garage to find a wire 18-22 gauge I found that they do conduct current well. I strongly recommend using these for low voltage situations.The included wire stripper, in my opinion is junk but if you don’t have your own pair of wire strippers the these will work but for ten bucks on amazon you can get a decent pair that will work better.All in all they work as described my only issue with them is that I rarely work with wires that small. I think a pack of these with multiple wire size capability would have been the smarter buy for me. But hey for ten bucks for 70 of them is a decent deal and had I passed up getting them the next day I would have run into an issue where I needed a connector that size.

These 2-pin wire connectors are very convenient for DIY electrical projects and low-voltage wiring. The locking buckle helps keep the connection secure, and they are easy to connect and disconnect when making changes.The 70-piece set gives you plenty of connectors to keep on hand for different projects. I also like that they are compact and don’t require complicated tools to use.I used them for low-voltage wiring, and they made the connections much cleaner and easier to manage. A handy set to have for LED lights, speakers, and other low-voltage projects.

There is a lot to like about these connectors. They are small, yet sturdy. They are easy to connect wires to and the clamping mechanism holds wires firmly. The internal connections are blades of copper which contact each other by spring tension and they are of a design that seems unlikely to fail even with a lot of use. The tension that holds the connectors together is just about perfect.What don't I like? Only that they are not suitable for vehicle use. This is because the clamps don't provide and strain relief for the wires and insulation. The wire cores slide in through small holes in the clamp and the insulation just butts up against the clamp. Any application which involves vibration or pulling willl almost certainly cause the wire to break. To be fair, it may be possible to use heat shrink tubing to secure the insulation and provide a strain relief, but connectors intended for vehicle use usually include some form of strain reflief.

These are a lot smaller than I thought they would be, and not adequate for higher amerpage connections. They are fine for smaller signal wires and for less power thirty devices.These are easy to assemble and disassemble. They're almost just as easy to populate. Each connector end has a swivel connector on the back. To populate wires, just strip a small amount of insulation, pop open the swivel connectors, push each wire in, and close the connector. Repeat for the other side and you're golden.I'm sure some smaller wire gauges might slip out of this kind of connection system, still most electronics hobbyists will want these in their kit.

I'm a big electronics nerd and I'm always in the middle of some build that's held together a little too haphazardly. One good example: on an ESP32 project I needed a longer power cable, so I cut a USB-C cable and spliced in a length of Cat6a between the ends. My first pass was just twisting the wires together and slapping electrical tape over it and calling it done. My wife took one look and said it looked ugly and unsafe, and honestly she wasn't wrong. So I picked these up to clean up the many small fire hazards I've created around my lab.They did the job well. Each pack gives you a set of matching two pin plug halves with a locking buckle, and they're built around insulated wire rather than pre-stripped wire, so the intended use is to just seat the wire and close the clip without stripping anything yourself first.One important warning: if you do feed in wire you've already stripped, the two poles inside aren't fully isolated from each other. A stray strand can bend just enough to touch the other pole and short the connection. Ask me how I know. If you're using these the way they're designed to be used, insulated wire straight into the clip, this shouldn't come up, but if your project has you working with wire that's already bare like mine did, pay close attention to how it seats before you close the buckle.Build quality is about what you'd expect for cheap plastic clips. They feel a little fragile and it wouldn't take much to snap one if you're rough with it. But for what they are and what they cost, they did exactly what I needed. My janky splice job is gone, replaced with something that actually looks intentional, and my wife approves. If you're doing similar small gauge, low voltage repairs and just need something quick, reliable, and a step up from tape and a prayer, these are a solid pick as long as you respect that stripped-wire warning.

The wire connectors are very compact.. They seem to work with small size wire.. 18 ga or less. I used them to connect the wiring for a fish finder on my boat. That wiring was less than 10 ga. and the connectors worked well. The instructions and the pictures on the listing seem to contradict themselves. In one statement it says there is no need to strip the wires. In the pictures, the wires are always stripped at the end. It worked better for me to strip the wires.On one end of the connector, the clear piece raises like a car hood. You must insert the wire(s) into the holes at the end or the clear (car hood) piece and then close the connector. Because the connector is so small, it was tricky trying to close the connector and hold the two wires in place at the same time. One or both wires would come out at least partially. By design, the connector could be re-opened to insert the wire properly an close back in place. If the wire was close to 18 ga or if the wire insulation was not soft, I had to use a tool to close the connector. Someone with a strong grip would do better, I am sure. You will know your wire is too large if it will not fit through the holes on the end of the connector.Once you have inserted the wire(s) and closed the connector, while holding the connector, give a little tug on the wire to make sure you have a tight fit. You don't want the wire to come out later. The wire stripper that comes with the kit is to be used when you have no better option.Pros :The connectors are small and compact where space is a factor.They make simple and quick connections.The connector can be used multiple times.A better option than wire nuts or crimped connectors when connecting small gauge wires.Cons:Can be difficult to close the connector with some wires.A little bit of a learning curve to know how much wire to strip away to make the best connection. Different wires will require a little different handling.. Very small wires may work with no stripping.Overall this is a great connector for electronics and the like.

Received this kit of low voltage connectors on time and undamaged. The kit comes with 70 connectors (enough for 35 connections), a wire stripping tool (not needed) and a nice see thru plastic case.I tested them on an old “wall wart” transformer by cutting the low voltage output cable and then installing the connectors to reconnect the cut ends. No stripping of wires needed. Pay close attention to polarity as the second connector mates upside down to the first one. Snapping the cover down using pliers works better than just your fingers. Once the connections are completed just push the 2 connectors together and you have a nice tight coupling. Then I tested for voltage and had a good stable connection.I also tested the reusability of the connectors by disassembling the ones I just used and assembled them a second time. they worked just as good the second time. Although I think after several uses (maybe between 3 and 7 uses) the catch that keeps the cover down will fail.I’ll be using these connectors mainly for powering mini LED Christmas lights using the wall wart transformers I mentioned before instead of batteries.Price is comparable to similar products on Amazon. Country of origin is China.

These wire connectors are incredibly easy to use and provide a solid connection once everything is secured, and I honestly wish I'd had them for some of my previous lighting projects. With 14 AWG stranded wire, I did occasionally need a small tool to help push the connector down properly. My biggest concern is that there isn't much separation between the conductors, so you need to make sure no stray strands cross over and potentially cause a short. As long as you pay attention during installation, they're convenient connectors that can make electrical work much quicker.
