The fit is noticeably better than traditional filters, which helps ensure air is actually passing through the filter instead of around it. It surpasses any hepa filter we’ve previously used as this one tended to provide the best allergy relief. That alone is worth every penny!The construction feels sturdy, installation is easy, and overall performance has been excellent. If you’re looking for a quality replacement filter that fits properly and does its job well, these are definitely worth considering.

We have an older home, that isn’t specifically designed for MERV air filters. I’ve been utilizing the simple 1” thick standard filters, however, we have pets in the house, as well as we live in a very dusty and high pollen environment. The dramatically improved performance of this filter intrigued me.After a bit of reading, and checking the dimensions, it seemed this filter would install in place of the standard furnace filter. Indeed it did. Removal of the old filter, and installation of the new filter, is obviously quite simple. The new MERV filter fits precisely in place of the old, basic filter. With the addition of the attached foam edge, it provides a vastly improved seal over the basic filter that doesn’t have this beneficial feature.Actual operation proved to be excellent. It will definitely filter out much more than the basic 1” thick, standard pleated filter that provides only barely adequate performance. This new filter is more than a step up. The intake for our furnace is in the laundry room, so a bit of a noise increase wouldn’t be noticeable, regardless, but I didn’t detect any increased noise with this improved filter. I would say the noise level is similar. It’s three times as thick, so there might be slightly more sucking noise from the increased velocity effect, but the increased thickness also acts as more of a sound barrier from the internal operation of the fan, so it’s basically a wash. It’s not objectionable in any way.Overall, I really like this filter. The one thing I can’t get past is the price point. It’s not this brand filter, particularly, but all of these newer MERV filters are just super expensive. Admittedly, they filter better, and have longer change intervals so that effectively mitigates some of the cost over the long term, however, not all of it. If the price were half what it is, the decision to use this style every time would be easy. As it is, I wrestle with the cost. If you already have a MERV system, this is a great quality filter and the price seems to be right in line with the competition, so in that respect it’s a good value.

I definitely recommend you purchase the 2-pack rather than the 1-pack. I bought the 1-pack, and it is just a bit overpriced. When buying the 2-pack, the price per filter is great.Definitely recommended. This filter fits perfectly. The 3-inch deep filter fits normal 1-inch filter holders, and the 3-inch form factor gives it much better filtering, while also making it easier on the air conditioner fan motor.This filter filters well, definitely MERV 13. I haven't had it long enough to replace; however, from using similar ones, I expect it will last as long as any 3-inch MERV 13 filter.Definitely recommended, and, at $30 per filter in the 2-pack, a great price.

The filter appeared sturdy and well constructed, with good-quality materials and solid packaging. Unfortunately, it was not compatible with our particular air system, so we were unable to fully test it. That said, based on the build quality and specifications, I believe it would work very well for the correct compatible unit. Be sure to double-check your model requirements before ordering.

This nerve 13 filter is not the easiest thing to find in this size today. A 3inch filter are using a very high price for 1 alone. I took pictures of the front and the back, and the pleating in front and back. This not only showed the depth of the space inward from the pleated across filter, the close ups show the support of the frame the wiring slot the one side to support the inner thick filter itself. The frame was surrounded also with foam and an extension on the size to fit perfectly within the hvac systems spot. We recently had to upgrade the conditioner unit and blower and now this model allows enough airflow for a higher rate merge filter. The quality as I said shows itself in the pictures. However this filters a high amount of airborne pantheons and microbes per minute through the entire house via the air blown thrown. You get all the goodness of an 11 dust, pollen, smoke, dander, dust mites, smog, mold and now also up to 90% of viruses and bacterial in the air. This is perfect for me as I feel it assists removing the dirty air and is now part of our whole house unit to sanitize the air we breath. The prefer will extend its life and reduce orders. I’ve been running the fans of the furnace and air conditioner itself without running the compressor all day just to have filtered arm to breath. From the research I seen it is recommended most of asthmatics and severe allergies but often helps with people who have immune deficiencies as I have two auto immunes myself.

The MERV 13 rating does a good job catching fine dust pollen and pet dander and I noticed less buildup on vents and furniture after installing it compared to the basic fiberglass filters I used before. Pleated design gives plenty of surface area and the 3 inch depth fits the Zephyr VGF return grille exactly with no gaps or forcing which made installation genuinely easy and quick. Construction feels solid with a sturdy frame that did not bend during install and the media looks evenly pleated with no visible flaws out of the box. Airflow seems adequate and my HVAC did not short cycle but you can hear slightly more pull through the return because MERV 13 is restrictive and older systems might struggle. Reasons it drops to three stars are price for a single pack and longevity. For a 1pack the cost is high compared to buying multipacks of other brands and the filter loaded up faster than expected in a home with pets needing replacement around 45 days instead of the advertised 90. The gasket seal around the frame is thin so I still had some air bypass at the corners which defeats part of the filtration benefit. Would recommend if you need MERV 13 specifically for allergies and have a newer system that can handle the static pressure but keep an eye on replacement intervals and budget for singles. Overall it fits well and filters effectively but value and lifespan keep it from being great.

The pleated design feels well made, and the filter seems sturdy and effective for keeping the air cleaner in the house.I appreciate the quality materials and the performance, especially for the price, making it a great deal.
