I order a lot of lamps, so I've gotten pretty picky about what makes one stand out—and this one actually has several big wins.First, the way the shade goes together is simply genius. Instead of trying to wrestle two rings around the top and bottom of a piece of canvas, the long bars just snap into place. It's still collapsible, but the design is so much more creative and user-friendly than the usual setup.I also love lamps that have ambient lighting in the base in addition to the bulb at the top. It adds so much more to the decor than a lamp that is simply there because you need a light.The only thing I have to retrain my brain on is the switch! 😂 Several times I've reached my hand up under the lampshade looking for the little twist button to turn on the bulb, basically playing hide-and-seek in the dark, only to remember the switch is down in the base. What a marvelous idea—I just have to stop looking for it where every other lamp has trained me to look for it.
