too cute, they are the perfect size and the lighting is soft and ambient, it doesn't come with batteries, you do need to buy your own. To put the batteries in you just click the back instead of having to use a screwdriver like some of these types of battery operated things are secured.

I purchased the ones with gold on the tips. From the time I unpackaged them, the gold began falling off. Otherwise they are nice. The flame is very realistic. I would buy again but not the pine cones with gold tips.
