Solid outdoor light with curb appeal

[Color: Matte Black, Size: 13 Inches]
This outdoor wall lantern has a really nice solid feel and looks much better than a basic builder grade porch light. The metal construction feels sturdy, the glass is thick and clear, and the matte black finish gives it a clean look that should work with a lot of different home styles. I like that the clear glass lets the bulb show, so an Edison style bulb would look especially nice in it. Installation is pretty standard for a hardwired exterior fixture, and once mounted it feels secure with no wobble. The open bottom also makes changing the bulb easier. This is a good looking and well made exterior light that would be a nice upgrade for a front porch, garage, patio, or rental property.

Good Looking & Durable FixtureGood Looking & Durable Fixture

[Color: Antique Bronze, Size: 13 Inches, Color: Antique Bronze, Size: 13 Inches]
Gorgeous quality and great traditional looks, the price is high, but the value is there. The fit beautifully by our front entryway. Install was fairly easy, the hardware is included. It’s hardwired, so unless you know what you’re doing, source an electrician, it’s worth it.This looks nice with a variety of design styles. Our home is extremely modern looking so the clean sharp lines and black color compliment it well. The size is the average that you would expect for a “porch light” type of fixture. We are using it to function as a light to illuminate our house numbers at night. And it is working wonderfully for that. The construction is pretty heavy duty, strong and durable. It looks it AND feels it.Ever since we installed it outside, I have been eyeing it up with the idea of buying another one to use inside. I think it would make a fabulous hall light. It’s versatile enough to look good both outdoors, as well as indoors. I haven’t spring my idea on the hubs yet, so we will see!

elegant without being fussy.elegant without being fussy.

[Color: Matte Black, Size: 10 Inches, Color: Matte Black, Size: 10 Inches]
We ordered this to upgrade our standard outdoor porch light. This is such a nice quality wall lantern that I just now realized our other one was junk. This is a solid metal construction that adds life to your outdoor area. It's the perfect size at 16" -- not too small and not too large. It puts out the perfect amount of light and the glass panels let it shine in a 360 degree pattern, but without the harsh glare. Installation was easy and nothing difficult, and this made such a difference in the space. It's very elegant without being over the top or cookie cutter. I find this to be a great value after looking at wall lanterns on line. Absolutely beautiful!

Stately but Pricey

[Color: Matte Black, Size: 13 Inches]
I ordered this to replace a light on my back covered patio. Out of the box this is a nice looking fixture. I like the matte color and it was easy to install. The 13” sizing is accurate and stately. However, I did notice the welded top “handle” was a bit shoddy. At this value, I believe the quality of the weld could have been cleaner.

Modern Outdoor Light That Looks Premium and Provides Excellent Curb Appeal

[Color: Matte Black, Size: 16 Inches]
I installed this outdoor wall lantern to replace an older porch light, and it made a noticeable difference in the overall appearance of the entryway. The modern lantern design is clean and timeless, giving the exterior a more updated look without being overly trendy. The matte black finish has a smooth, durable appearance and pairs well with a variety of home styles. The clear glass panels allow the decorative bulb to be fully visible, so using an Edison-style LED bulb creates a warm, inviting glow while complementing the fixture’s design.Installation was straightforward with standard mounting hardware, and once mounted, the fixture felt solid and secure. The open-bottom design also makes changing bulbs much easier since there’s no need to remove multiple glass panels. The light provides excellent illumination for a front porch, garage entrance, patio, or walkway. It casts a pleasant amount of light while adding a decorative touch during both the day and at night. The construction feels sturdy, and the weather-resistant finish appears well suited for year-round outdoor use.Pros:* Modern, attractive lantern design.* Durable matte black finish.* Clear glass panels showcase decorative bulbs.* Solid construction with quality materials.* Easy installation using standard wall mounting.* Open-bottom design simplifies bulb replacement.* Great for front doors, garages, patios, and entryways.Things to consider:* A bulb is not included, so you’ll need to purchase one separately.* Clear glass requires occasional cleaning to keep it looking its best.* Choosing a warm white Edison-style LED bulb really enhances the overall appearance.Overall, this wall lantern combines style, functionality, and solid construction into an attractive outdoor fixture. It provides excellent curb appeal while delivering plenty of light for everyday use. If you’re updating your home’s exterior lighting, this is a well-designed fixture that’s both decorative and practical.

[Color: Antique Bronze, Size: 13 Inches, Color: Antique Bronze, Size: 13 Inches]
This 13-inch outdoor wall light is a perfect match to my other outdoor lamps and has a nice clean traditional look. I installed this on my back patio, which was super easy due to the manufacturer including a cut-sheet. This lamp style doesn't block the light, rather it seems to broadcast it everywhere, which is what I really like about it.The wall light mounts on a regular electrical box, and it is a standard 3-wire hook up. No surprises, just a nice quality patio light that looks great on my wall.PROSHigh-quality outdoor lamp.Super easy to install. No surprises.CONSNone.RECOMMENDATION – I am recommending this Progress Lighting outdoor wall lighting fixture to my friends and family due to the obvious quality and pride of product.

Well-Built Outdoor Fixture With a Traditional Look That Doesn't Feel Dated

[Color: Matte Black, Size: 16 Inches]
I swapped out a builder-grade outdoor light for this lantern, and the difference in build quality hit the moment I lifted it out of the box. It has real weight to it, solid metal construction rather than the lightweight stamped, hollow feel a lot of exterior fixtures have, and for something that's going to sit exposed to weather year-round, that heft actually matters for how long it'll last. The 16-inch size makes a genuine statement without overwhelming a standard entry door, and the traditional lantern shape reads as classic rather than dated, especially with the clear seeded glass panels that diffuse the bulb's light instead of showing a bare, harsh point source. I priced a couple of similar-looking lanterns at a local hardware store before ordering this one online, and the in-hand weight and glass thickness here noticeably exceeded what those in-store options offered at a comparable price, which is exactly the kind of difference that's impossible to judge from a listing photo but obvious the second you hold the fixture.Installation followed standard outdoor fixture wiring, nothing unusual, though because of the size it's easier with a second set of hands to hold the fixture while you make the connections. The mounting bracket was sturdy enough that the lantern sat flush against the wall with no gap or wobble once secured, and the included gasket seated properly against the exterior wall, which should help keep moisture out of the electrical box over time.So far it's handled a few rounds of rain without any water intrusion or fogging inside the glass panels, which is the first thing I check on an exterior fixture. The one small cosmetic note: the seeded glass shows water spots a little more visibly than plain clear glass once rain dries, but that's purely surface and a quick wipe during routine cleaning takes care of it. A fair thing to keep in mind before buying is scale, since a lantern this large can overwhelm a narrow wall section, so measure against your door and wall before committing. Where the proportions fit, the result looks deliberate and substantial. For anyone wanting a genuinely well-built entry light rather than a disposable big-box fixture, the weight and finish quality here make the price feel justified.

A Modern Hard Wired Outdoor Lantern That is Small But Powerful

[Color: Matte Black, Size: 10 Inches]
This is a beautiful small outdoor 10-inch wall lantern. It’s 10“ x 6“ x 6“ with clear glass. In fact, the fact that it has clear glass means you’re probably going to want to get an Edison-type lightbulb to use with this fixture because you want the people walking by your light outdoors to be able to see the elements of the light, and it should be an attractive Edison light rather than an ugly LED.The maximum wattage you can have in this fixture is 60 W, and bear in mind that when you’re getting LED lightbulbs, a 60 W LED would be practically like a floodlight. A 9 W LED light is equivalent to an old-style 100 W incandescent light for a back or side porch. You’re probably going to use either three or 5 W of light, so it’s not overbearing if you buy a bulb that’s more powerful than that. You’re probably gonna have to buy the switch as well. The manufacturer says installation is easy, but as with all electrical installation, I have three caveats that I’m very serious about.First, make absolutely certain you’ve turned off the power from the circuit breaker control panel box in your home to the junction box you’re about to work on. The circuit breaker control panel box in your home is usually located in the basement. And in some homes, a circuit breaker control panel box is located in the garage, particularly if you do not have a basement. The best way to turn the power off to the junction box that you’re about to begin working on is, hopefully, to still have a light of some sort connected to the junction box you wish to use. Turn that light on and have a friend stand by the junction box with an open cell phone line to you as you go down to turn off the circuit breaker. Your friend will tell you when you’ve turned off the correct circuit breaker, and you can flash it several times just to make certain you’ve got the right one.Second, even though you believe you’ve turned off the power at the correct junction box, use an electrical tester or voltage meter to test each wire in the junction box to ensure none are still energized.I always carry one, but it looks like a little red pen. It’s actually an electrical testing device that most electricians carry as well. When you push the top of the pen, instead of a point coming out, a little red light lights when you put it near a wire that’s energized it literally chirps like a burn, and the light just flashes. If I put it near a 240 V clothing dryer line. It will trip twice as fast, and the light will flash twice as fast, warning me of the dangerous electrical current. This is an important safety device to have with you whenever you do electrical work.Third, most people don’t know how to use wire-lock nuts. If you follow the manufacturer's detailed instructions and thread the wires through the appropriate installation, discs, and bolt them correctly through the junction box and remove the half-centimeter of insulation from the wires, you still should learn how to use a wire lock nut correctly. Let’s start with the black wires, the black wire from the house service side, which is 14 gauge single strand copper and the wire from the fixture which is 26 or 28 gauge multi strand copper make sure you remove the last half centimeter of insulation from both wires place the points of both wires, pointing in the same direction adjacent to another, and cover them both with a wire lock that turn the wire locknut clockwise until a firm, mechanical and electrical connection has been established. Do the same with the white and green wires, which are probably connected to a bare copper wire from the fixture.Fourth, whenever I do electrical work outdoors, I always like to be extra safe. You’ll notice the base of this light has a square, rectangular bottom that goes flush with your home, and behind that are the wiring and the connections to the junction box as well; however, even though it appears flush against your wall, I can assure you it’s not. Water can still get in; bugs can still get in. I always put a bead of silicone around the entire edge of the box that connects to the wall to keep bugs and water out, and to ensure the work you’ve done stays intact and isn’t damaged. I always use clear so no one will notice it.This is a beautiful, modern outdoor wall fixture that’s like a lantern, and it will enhance the beauty of your home for many years to come.
