This filter is much higher quality than your standard furnace filter. Its very small in storage as its folded up which is superb. But the main part is that this filter is excellent in good airflow and the MERV 11 balances airflow with protection just perfectly at my house. I recommend this style of filters to anyone that wants more than just a filter.

The filter itself comes to you flat, in 3 pieces (plus screws) and compact. If storage space is at a premium, this might be a helpful feature. For me, I found it to be an added hassle to assemble. Fortunately, it's not hard to do though and comes with instructions. It took me maybe 3-4 minutes including looking at the instructions. The filter is sturdy enough once done and I want to confirm a couple misprints in the description. As of today, there are two listed sizes and two MERVs on this listing. To confirm, you will receive 15.75 × 24.25 × 3 inches with a 11 MERV. This fits the typical 16 x 25 x 3. I prefer the 11 MERV anyways, because 13 is restrictive and can cause airflow issues.The pricing is generally better than the name brand variety, and as far as quality it is too early to tell, but it looks like a good reasonably thick filter, so I suspect it should work fine.

The merv 13 rating is a pretty high level filtering and the 3” wide form factor gives much more surface area to the pleats than a typical 1” thick filter, provided your furnace has the room to accommodate this width. The listing shows it as assemble yourself but it wasn’t difficult, but less convenient than ready to use size filters. I’m more of a fan of ready to use, based on rigidity but this makes it easier to store this as I only use it when cleaning or drying out our permanent reusable filter in our furnace. The cardboard of the bottom and top has a nice thin foam seal to stop airflow around the filter and it is thick as seen compared to a tongue depresser. It uses several plastic buttons similar to automotive interior panel push in prongs to hold it together and the pleats are reinforced with a metal mesh for strength.

This filter is a perfect fit in the Generalaire AC 24 air cleaner on my American Standard HVAC unit. It is well built and designed. Installation is of course exceedingly easy and at the 3” depth size I expect it to last probably four or more months before it is too dirty. There is no excessive air restriction so the unit isn’t having to run more frequently than it should. We have three dogs in the house and air quality is still good. I like the little features like the end loop that makes dropping into and lifting out of place very easy that probably only cost them 1.6 cents but you still don’t see in as many models of filter these days. The price for a single one is fine, similar to others on the market. However, the price on the 2 pack is pretty fantastic and will be what I order now that I can personally attest to their quality. You will not beat it even in any big box store. I’d have no problem recommending these to anyone in need of maintaining clean air and prolonging system life at a very reasonable price.
