My couch is now mobile—but only when invitedMy couch is now mobile—but only when invited

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid, Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid]
My use case may not be the most common one: I needed to make a full-size couch easier to move around my home. That is a more demanding assignment than attaching casters to an empty utility cart. A couch is already heavy before people sit on it, the load shifts as people move, and the furniture needs to remain firmly in place during normal use. It also needs to roll without requiring a small demolition crew whenever I deliberately want to reposition it.These casters have handled that assignment well. Once installed, the couch became considerably easier to move, while the two brakes allow it to remain stationary when I want it stationary. The combination of two braking casters and two rigid casters also makes sense here: The couch follows a predictable path instead of every wheel independently attempting to explore a different part of the room. Each caster is advertised to support up to 250 pounds, or 1,000 pounds across the set. I did not conduct a formal maximum-load test, but a couch supporting multiple adults provides a meaningful real-world test, and I have had no concerns about the casters themselves under that load.As with any plate-mounted caster, the final strength depends on what it is attached to and the hardware holding it there. A 1,000-pound caster rating cannot make thin trim or particleboard structural. Mount the plates securely to a solid portion of the furniture or equipment.Putting industrial-looking wheels beneath a couch is admittedly an oddball project, but the finished result works. The casters are mostly concealed beneath the furniture, the couch still functions like a couch, and moving it no longer requires turning furniture rearrangement into an Olympic event. If you have the same strangely specific need—to make substantial furniture movable when wanted and stationary when not—go for it.

Heavy-Duty Casters That Roll Smoothly

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid]
These casters are an excellent upgrade for workbenches, carts, and other shop equipment. The polyurethane wheels roll smoothly and quietly, even when supporting heavier loads, and they don't leave marks on the floor. The combination of two rigid casters and two locking casters provides a good balance of maneuverability and stability. The build quality is impressive. The wheels feel solid, the mounting plates are sturdy, and the bearings roll smoothly without excessive resistance. The locking brakes engage securely and do a good job keeping equipment in place once positioned.Overall, this is a durable, well-made caster set that's ideal for workshop projects or heavy-duty utility carts. Installation was straightforward, the performance has been excellent, and they offer outstanding value for anyone looking to add smooth-rolling mobility to shop equipment.

Smooth-Rolling 250 lb Casters — Great for a Garden Bench and Plenty More

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid]
These casters are a perfect addition to my garden bench. The price point was good for the money — well designed with excellent materials. It's an outdoor bench, so I'm not 100% sure I made the best choice using them outside. I'd recommend doing your own research if that's your plan too, but for me, I'm happy to be the guinea pig.The 3" wheels are plenty for most hard surfaces. I'd avoid soft dirt or grass — that just wouldn't end well. Each caster holds 250 lbs, so four give me plenty of capacity at around half a ton total. The wheels travel smoothly across hard surfaces. Just watch for pebbles that can stop a wheel dead, much like a rock under a skateboard wheel — and those who know, know how much that tends to end in tears. The wheel configuration isn't my personal favorite, but for a garden bench it should suffice: two wheels are fixed (no spin or rotation), and the other two rotate a full 360 degrees and lock, which keeps your bench — or whatever you mount them to — from rolling away on you.A few other ideas I might use these for: a kids' lemonade stand you can roll into the garage or alongside the house when not in use; a wooden bin for pool toys (and if that bin has a lid, a spot to store lounge or seat cushions when they're not out); or the bottom of a cabinet for easy repositioning of garage storage. There are so many more uses where the simple ability to move something makes life easier.

heavy duty, and easy rollers

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid]
I ordered these casters for an extremely heavy sofa that was nearly impossible to move. The sofa is around 200lbs (RH) and usually requires a lot of leverage for me to move solo. I'm hoping these casters will do the trick, listed as being able to handle 250lbs/caster. (Only time will tell)Of course they have an industrial look so that changes the overall aesthetic, but functionally these are a win for being able to rearrange the room, move for cleaning, and ultimately when it has to be moved out of the space. My only concern is the longevity of the materials used for the surface of the wheels as well as the inner "hub cap" which feels like plastic.

Smooth Rolling Casters With Reliable Locking PerformanceSmooth Rolling Casters With Reliable Lock...

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid, Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 2 Brake + 2 Rigid]
This set of four casters is a great option for projects that require moving medium to heavy loads smoothly while protecting the floor surface. The casters roll easily and have a smooth swivel action, making it much easier to move equipment, work tables, carts, or other shop projects around as needed.I was impressed with how well the wheels move and how smoothly the swivel mechanism operates. The two locking swivel casters have a firm, secure locking mechanism that engages easily and holds the caster in place when you need stability. The locks do a good job of preventing unwanted rolling while still allowing the casters to move freely when unlocked. The steel construction feels solid, although the material does seem slightly lighter than some of the heavier-duty casters I have used in the past. That said, they are rated for 250 lbs per caster, and based on the construction and performance so far, I expect them to handle their rated capacity well. The 6 hole mounting plate with 4 elongated holes provides simple installation and universal mounting. For my application, a two-way locking feature that prevents both rolling and swiveling would have been ideal, but the included locking design is still effective for most uses. Overall, these are well-performing casters that provide smooth movement, dependable locking, and good value for anyone needing a reliable set of replacement or upgrade wheels.

Perfect, a little pricey for a 4 pack, though.Perfect, a little pricey for a 4 pack, though.

I was excited to get these, because I had a perfect use for them. I received some larger 4" casters that were too big for a project then noticed these and snatched them up. I have long had a need for a heavy duty rolling base to help move things around the house and garage. For this purpose I didn't necessarily need the locking feature, but it is obviously appreciated. It is activated on the side of the hub, extending slightly past the wheel. You'll need sturdy shoes to get it to fully engage without hurting your feet (ask me how I know). The lock engages on the face of the wheel to stop movement. The wheels are made of a polyurethane, which are very stiff, but quiet rolling on the ground.I ordered two rotating wheels and two fixed. This is good for control when you attach them to a large workbench or cabinet so it doesn't roam side to side when using it.The construction of these is a little unique in the fact that the base is a little larger than normal and there are six mounting holes instead of the standard four. I haven't tested the 250lb strength claim, but I have no reason to doubt it, as these are quite sturdy and can handle almost any size of workbench you'd need in a typical shop.It doesn't hurt that these are made from an American owned brand. For that reason alone, I would recommend these over other similarly priced casters.

Good quality, but price is highGood quality, but price is high

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 4 Swivel, Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 4 Swivel]
Nice non-marking swivel casters that will bear 1000 lbs when used as a set. Roll and swivel easily, no issues. Thick, solid plate.I find the price higher than necessary as you can buy 4 casters from H Freight for $24, same size, same material, higher load capacity, for a savings of almost $14.Note that these casters are pretty tall: there is a large gap between the wheel and the plate. Additionally, the screw holes are way too large for the wood screws I have on hand, making a washer necessary (the screw head passes easily through the hole).Overall, though, nice casters that will "blend in" with a concrete floor. I look forward to adding mobility to a wood cabinet in the basement.

Nice caster set

[Size: 3 Inch-Plate, Set name: 4 Swivel]
This caster set is well built and works very well on the table that holds my laser engraver. I have a laser engraver that I use from time to time and when it is not is active use it gets moved out of the way. When ever I need to move the laser engraver I have to drag the table it is on around to clear the work area or to pull it out to the works area and this can be a bit of a task when moving the table. I picked up this caster set to mount the laser table on wheels to make the moving of the laser engraver a little easier and these casters have filled that gap perfectly. The casters were easy to mount and they roll with ease to put the laser engraver in place for use or for moving the laser engraver out of the way when I'm not using it. The wheels handle the weight of the laser engraver and its table with out any problems and the wheels are large enough to allow the table to be moved over cracks and gaps on the floor but they are small enough to minimize the tables work level increase and still be a good work height. The addition of this caster set has made handling the laser engraver a much easier task and a welcomed improvement to the shop tools.
