This review is for the DEWENWILS 200W Low Voltage Landscape Transformer, 120VAC to 12/14VAC.Prior to selecting this brand and size transformer, I researched the various brands and sizes available. The overall rating on the product is very high. I also used this brand before for a larger garden which required a 300-watt transformer (24 LED lights at 5 watt each}. I did not have any issues with that installation and use. Based on the number of lights being installed (12 LED lights at 5 watt each}, I calculated the best size for this new garden would be a 200-watt transformer. These calculations give me expansion capabilities for future lights.The packaging of the product is excellent. No opportunity for damage at all. attached pictures show how well the product packaged for shipping.Dusk to Dawn, on/off, is a standard feature. I like the dual zone programmable outputs. Smart modes allow you to program each output with different functions. Different areas of your yard may require its own programming functions, which mine did. The product is weather resistant from rain, snow and dust for durability. Programmed function in memory remain after power loss, which could be a problem with other brands. this unit provides short circuit protection for safety. this protects you and the equipment from damage. This unit can supply power to both LED and Halogen lights, also other 12/14VAC equipment/devices. Just ensure you calculate each device for total power loads. The internal toroidal coil reduces energy consumption and reduces noise that many transformers develop over time. Unit meets all NEC and other electrical codes required. Programming instructions are included and easy to use. If any issues were to arise, 24/7 support is available from manufacturer.I like everything about this transformer and highly recommend it. I will purchase again in the future as needed.

This one is going in the back to control pathway step lights and possibly a couple of lantern-style lights in the back yard.Good product. Good value. Get it.

I'm really happy with this compact low-voltage transformer. At 200W, it’s more than enough for my needs. It offers multiple timer settings, including the option for no timer at all, which works perfectly with my smart home setup. For those without a smart home, it supports dusk-to-dawn and dusk-to-2/4/6/8-hour lighting. It also features two separate outputs, allowing you to control power differently for each one. The unit feels solid and well-built, and I think it’s a great value compared to others I’ve seen in big-box stores.

I’ve already had good experiences with DEWENWILS low voltage landscape transformers, and this model continues that trend. I’m not someone who enjoys tackling heavy duty electrical work at home, but DEWENWILS designs their transformers so that most people can install them without needing specialized expertise. I typically prefer solar lighting for its simplicity, but a few areas around my home just don’t get enough sunlight to make solar feasible. That’s where this transformer comes in.After unboxing it, I looked everything over and connected one of my pathway lights for a quick test. Even from that brief setup, it’s clear this is going to be an easy installation.The transformer converts standard 120V household power into safer low voltage output (12V or 15V) for landscape lighting. The build quality is excellent: the housing feels durable, and the internal components are sealed in silicone to protect against dust, moisture, and general wear.Feature wise, it’s well equipped:• Short circuit and overload protection• Memory and countdown modes• Manual on/off control• Dusk to dawn functionality• Two independently controlled lighting zonesI’m glad I ordered this unit. This is a highly functional transformer that is priced very competitively. The available programming options are Manual On/Off operation, Dusk On to Countdown Timer for either 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 hours before Off, and Dusk to Dawn operation. They provide a detachable Photocell that is used with the Countdown Timer or Dusk to Dawn programs. This also has a memory function that will restore your last setting after a power outage. That feature saves you from needing to re-input your programming selections. Additionally, this has overload protection which will prevent damage from excessive current draw.External Photocells are great since they give you the flexibility to mount them out of shade in a location that will work well for Dusk to Dawn operation. Mounting hardware is included with what looks to be stainless steel screws.This Transformer is capable of powering 2 independent zones separately. For example, you could set this to turn on the Lighting in your flower beds at one particular time, then turn on your Lighting for your walkway at a different time. I was able to test all the programming functions on this and it functions as expected. This is a 200 Watt Transformer and since I always stay within the general rule to never exceed 80% of the Transformers capacity, this will give me 160 Watts of lighting to power.Dewenwils builds quality transformers with a lot of functionality. The housing on this is weatherproof, and made of a hardened plastic. Unlike Stainless Steel Transformer housings, this can be priced more competitively. I think this is a good value and would recommend this for a two zone Landscape Lighting project.

This DEWENWILS 200W low voltage transformer is impressive and offers flawless functionality. For $90, this 2-zone 200W transformer with remote photocell is a great value for the money in my opinion. It has all of the great features of more expensive transformers at an affordable cost. This has 2 zones, operated separately from each other is zone 1 and zone 2. Each zone can be set on completely different settings. There is a 70" long remote photocell sensor to run to the ideal spot even if the transformer is below the deck or under an eave. There are also 2 voltage levels per zone 12V for runs under 50 feet and 15V for runs over 50 feet (see pic 3). I thoroughly tested everything on this transformer, and it passed every test with flying colors for super performance and functionality. This transformer is also smaller in size making it ideal for easy installation in tight spaces. It measures approximately only 8.5" tall x 5.5" wide and 3.5" deep. Installation is very quick and easy, just 2 screws (included with wall anchors if needed) and a handy template for easy placement measurements. Screw in the screws (or drill holes for the wall anchors if necessary), slide the transformer onto the screws and done which literally takes about 3-4 minutes to complete the install process. This is a smaller, compact transformer that is lightweight while packed with high-end features. It is quality-made with great performance for a cost that doesn't break the bank. I would buy this well-built transformer again without hesitation, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
