Once I figured out how simple they are to retract and how easy they are to use I like these. Just hold down the little red tab to have the strap store itself inside which makes them very neat for storage purpose. The build quality is pretty good, not to say you can't break them. If you really pull hard the build is light enough that I am reasonably sure you will deform the steel. So be reasonable and they will last. Once they are set they have a secure fit and will hold fine. The pros are ease of use and how nicely they store all the loose strap. The only con I could see is if you get too aggressive with them I believe they will deform but that would only be if you really torqued them too hard. I think these are good value for the money.

So far, these have been great. Retractable ratchet straps are something that I've been interested in pretty much since they were invented, but I've always avoided them because I've always assumed they'd be problematic, so when these came up on Vine I had to snag them. I'm keeping these in my truck to use as my primary tie down\hold down straps. As far as the standard ratchet function, they work well...operation is smooth, the straps are good quality and don't have any loose threads or fraying issues, and the handles and hooks well made and very strong. I've cranked down on them pretty good to hold an engine in place in the bed of my truck and they worked as well as any other strap that I've used. But, what about the important part? What about the retraction? So far, the retract feature has been reliable and very useful. It's not quite as smooth as a tape measure...I do sometimes have to "guide" the strap home or pull a few inches out and let it retract again, but ultimately they're working very well. So far I've used these to secure 5-6 loads and haven't had any problems. The straps are easy to use once you adjust to the differences from a "normal" ratchet strap, and they hold reliably, without coming loose or without the material stretching. At the end of the day, they seem like they'll be really good straps. Obviously with something like this, time is the ultimate measure of durability and quality, but my experience has been great so far. At $30, I feel like they're a great value, but the "inexpensiveness" of these does concern me somewhat. I grew up in times where if a pair of ratchet straps didn't cost $80 they'd be junk, but those times have passed, but the fact that these basically cost the same as a decent pair of regular straps does make me wonder. That said, I'm not going to hold that against them unless they give me a reason to.

If you're like me, you probably dread using traditional ratchet straps because of the inevitable 15 minutes spent untangling them before every single trip. These Camelcell retractable straps are an absolute game-changer. They work kind of like a heavy-duty tape measure—you just pull out what you need, hook it up, and click the ratchet. When you're done, you press the button and the whole thing rolls itself right back up.The build quality is seriously impressive. The mechanisms feel heavy and solid in your hand, not cheap or plasticky, and the bright red release levers are big enough to press easily even when you're wearing thick work gloves.I’ve used them a few times now to tie down some heavy loads, and they didn’t budge or slip an inch on the highway. Having the soft loops included is a huge bonus too because I don't have to worry about the metal hooks scratching up my gear or paint. These retractable ratchet straps are a first for me..I have many ratchet straps of all kinds from heavy duty to light. None are retractable! I love is idea. I did run into a glitch, but I'm not even going to count off for that. Basically if your strap gets out of place during retrieve it'll mess up the one button retraction and you'll need to reset it. That's normal for any sort of strap to get off line on you..so that's par for the course. Other than that, no issues and an excellent product. Another thing to get out of the way right away is the cost. Yes, these are more expensive than a regular pair of the same holding strength. However that extra cost is absolutely worth it for the ease of use and saving you time for ratcheting them up yourself for several minutes. About the straps themselves.. they're traditional quality..very strong and durable. No surprise there. The enclosed ratcheting gears is hidden from view so..I can't say how well made that is. Judging the by the quality of what you can see I'm betting the gears are all equally of great quality and well manufactured. These are so easy to use, I'm loving it. These hold tight and can be ratcheted very rigidly. These can be used to wrap or bundle a load independently as well as attach to anchor points and they conveniently included 2 additional ring belts. These look sharp too..not that looks matter but they're nice and present refinement in your taste of equipment/tool choices. The uses are wide and can be effective at multiple tasks. I would highly recommend these if you're willing to pay a premium; but again, it's worth it in my opinion.

The design of retractable ratchet straps is genius in and of itself. No longer having to deal with awkwardly wrapping them up and never getting it quite right enough to store is brilliant. These straps do exactly that, and do it well. They work like any normal ratchet strap would, only easier. You simply hook the extendable end to your truck or trailer, push a button to pull it to your second tether point, then ratchet it down tight. They release slack just like a normal strap would and then you push the button again to retract the strap into the clamp.They are very well built and are a little bigger than equivalent ratchet straps of this strap/hook size. They have a fairly decent capacity too at 1760 lbs. break strength, and 580 lbs. work load limit. I kind of like the little spring loaded clasp on the hooks, to keep them from falling out of where you’re hooking them to as you set them up. They also come with a set of soft straps to use when you can’t anchor to something with the hooks. Included are a set of instructions and a nice little drawstring bag to keep everything in.They come packaged nicely in a tight fitting box. I may actually keep the box as it’s the perfect size to tuck neatly into my truck to store them. The box comes inside another amazon box for extra protection. Shipping was fast and they arrived in excellent condition.I’ve used these a handful of times now and so far they’ve been great. I’ll be interested to see how they compare long term to a normal ratchet strap. I’m impressed with how easy they are to use, put away and store. Shipping was great and they arrived undamaged. 5 stars, I would definitely recommend.

As someone who has owned more than his fair share of straps, ratchet straps, cinches and other things...I think I've got some good context for this review. I'd seen similar straps when stopping at gas stations, and thought they were neat but wasn't motivated enough to swap out my current set of traditional ratchet straps.I got a chance to try these out when moving some lumber this weekend, and boy were they everything I thought they could be. No more dangling ends that you need to tie up somehow. No more hoping you took up enough slack only to find that you have to redo your pull. Maybe best of all...when I was all done and it was time to put them away, it was one lever push to have it all tidied up.The gate on the hook is a nice touch...it can be frustrating to keep tension on the hook while you tighten your straps. you loosen up, it falls, you have to walk around the trailer again just to hook it back on. If you don't like the gate, or need the extra space, just clip it off.These are bulkier than traditional ratchet straps, but I think the little bit of lost space when storing is WELL worth it. I like having a set of 4 straps, so it looks like I'll be buying 2 more...

Perfect ratchet straps for what I needed. I have a water tank that I put on a small open trailer. This way I have a mobile fertilizer unit. However I started running into the issue of going around my farm and the water tank shifting around and sloshing everywhere. I figured this would be a good way to strap it down.The straps themselves are very rugged material. The ratcheting mechanisms feel heavy duty. The set has good weight to it. However it's still compact so it's good for small and mid-sized uses. The weight rating feels Fair compared to some of the other types of ratchet ties I have used with their respective ratings. It's definitely easily holding this big full water tank while off-roading. They grip firmly and tension evenly.They are easy to get going. Easy to do even with people who don't have a lot of hand strength or mobility. The key for people who have not used something like this before, or not in a while, is tightening the strap up manually first without any pressure on it. And then getting it all ready connected and in place for the final ratchets that will have more pressure and tension behind them to fully lock down whatever you are trying to secure.
