This is a good looking horse lamp, it stands fairly tall, nearly two feet tall to the top of the lamp shade. The lamp shade is located on top of the head on a lamp head that folds down for shipping. The resin based horse body is substantial enough to feel like it's not top heavy.I wasn't sure about the black lamp shade but it honestly looks just fine, it allows some light to filter through when the bulb is turned on. The power cord has an inline switch for turning the light on and off.The electrical is made of UL listed parts, but the horse lamp itself is not listed or certified by UL or ETL. Also the included light bulb is not UL or ETL listed, rather it is one of those bulbs that offer three color temperature options, selectable by flipping the switch on/off/on. Once the light has been on for like 30 seconds or so, flipping the light off and back on again will keep the same color temperature as previously. I find these lights to be a little annoying, they frequently change the color temperature when you accidentally power on/off/on too quickly or if the power blinks off for a second or two. It uses a standard E26 lamp base, so just throw that unlisted LED bulb away and put in what you want.My take... Built from UL listed parts, large good looking lamp.

I do not understand the high price on this lamp at all. You have to assemble the shade, which is velcro. The horse is pretty, but this is way overpriced.

This is an attractive lamp overall, and I really like the black horse statue and fabric shade combination. The horse has a nice decorative look, and the three adjustable light colors are a useful feature that makes it easy to change the lighting depending on the room or time of day.My only hesitation is the placement of the lamp itself. The stem comes directly out of the horse’s head, which looks a little odd from certain angles and takes away from the otherwise attractive statue design. It’s still a functional and eye-catching piece, but I think a slightly different placement would have made the overall design feel more polished.

If you are a horse lover looking for a stunning statement piece, this substantial and delightfully kitschy equine-themed lamp is a lamp to consider. While it carries a slightly higher price tag, the exceptional build quality, included bulb, and versatile three-way rocker switch make it a good value for the horse enthusiast. The lampshade does require simple assembly featuring a unique velcro seam which, though a bit unusual at first, makes storage a breeze if you wanted to put it up for a while and looks completely seamless once set up. It functions wonderfully as both a practical light source and a specialized decorative accent. And with all that said, for those that love horses and a kitschy look, this is a quality lamp.

At first I thought this was gonna be cheesy.. that is NOT the case. It is sehr elegant and unexpectedly beautiful. The horse is made from a glossy black ceramic, and the shade is very high quality. It comes together in minutes and comes with a bulb. Although I'd recommend a soft incandescent to illuminate this beauty. The black canvas shade allows a bit of light to escape, as it focuses the rest down, shining triumphantly upon the horse. I'm totally gonna use this on my desk. It is way nicer than the one it's replacing.All n all, I think this lamp is awesome. It is beautiful, functional.. and just has an aura about it that brings me peace. Does that sound weird? Lol..I would highly recommend this horse lamp. It is clear cut quality all the way. An excellent deal imho. 10/10 I love it!(There is a simple switch to power it on the chord)
