Overall this is probably the best quality hooded vent card that I've gotten regardless of price and vendor. All the parts are made very tough, and having the pipe extension in two segments actually ended up being very useful for my installation.Ultimately I only have one quibble with it, and I do think it's worth it reducing a score by one star. The rodent guard on its own is built very well. Nothing cheap about it, but the way it attaches to the hood is surprisingly subpar considering the rest of the build. There's just a couple friction points that are indented to retain it. So if there's anything ever so slightly out of square the guard just falls out. A vastly better solution would be a couple set screws, and then that would be it. In my installation it took several attempts to get it in place and keep it there. Ultimately I ended up having to pinch in the metal slightly on either side to prevent the guard from falling outI would still definitely buy this again if I was in need of another vent Hood.

This is the only vent choice that works because of the magnet that keeps the flap shut.I bought 2 others and returned them because the flaps were flimsy and constantly flapping open and letting in outside year. I don't understand how any home-owner would accept that? Home Depot and Lowe's only stock the useless vents. I don't get it.The metal feels thicker and more solid than the others (the flimsy flaps were warped). Good color. Be sure to check the specific model has a magnetic seal system. This 6" one does but I think not all of their vents do.Note to Hon & Guan. The Magnet close feature should be the first thing mentioned in the product name, description, details, etc. That's the best thing about it and what elevates it above all the vents on Amazon.
