Japanese Teeth Reciprocating Saw Blades

I put one of these 12 inch blades to work on several pine trees ranging from 3-6 inches the other day using my Hackzall, no issues with the fit and overall I'm pretty impressed. Normally I prefer 8 inch blades but this size wasn't unwieldy.While pine cuts easy, especially with teeth this sharp, the sap tends to gum up my blades quick and they become useless unless I go through hassle of cleaning them. Not the case here, I'll be able to use these blades my more times. I pinched the blade once or twice as well and it survived, whereas my others would've bent. Definitely durable and for the price it's hard to beat the value. I'll order more whenever I finally use these up.

There are times when using a chainsaw feels really sketchy.Trimming is one of them.I don't want to be in a lot of underbrush...or up on a ladder...or in a crowded area...when I'm trimming limbs.These...combined with a decent reciprocating saw...take a lot of the worry out of the process.This combination is a lot lighter...easier to maneuver ...and just as effective.These blades are sharp and aggressive...and make short work of limbs and branches.I've used them for demolition work, too...just don't hit any nails (like you'd be careful when using a chainsaw...just take your time...).These are really great blades...last a long time...and you can get a lot of work done without breaking the bank.Much safer than a chainsaw for a lot of applications!

These blades are awesome. Just had a tree limb break off in the front yard and my chainsaw is old and won't start. Tried these new blades with my cordless reciprocated saw and was amazed how sharp they are and how long they last. For the price and delivery at my door from Amazon made this too easy. Thanks 😊

I ordered these saw blades to do tree trimming. I thought they would be a good alternative to using my Fiskar pole saw on lower branches that could be reached using these blades in a 20V Dewalt reciprocating saw. I also have an electric chain saw that I've used for trimming larger branches as well as a bow saw. Before offering my opinion on these blades a little background advice would be useful.First, the most important thing is to match the tool with the job. These blades are no match for a chain saw and not even a hand bow saw. The reason is the difference in the design of the saw teeth. Examine the design of a bow saw blade and you will see that it is designed to take a large amount of wood with each cut pass, have raker teeth and an aggressive tooth set. Obviously, it's the same for a chain saw which has very aggressive cut design. These Japanese design blades have 6 TPI, no raker teeth and a mild tooth set. My advice is to consider this type of blade design for use where you're not tackling a large amount of work, and you don't have large diameter branches to cut because the speed, even in an electric reciprocating saw will be slower than more aggressive type saw blades. Here's what I found:- The bi-metal blade design didn't seem to make a difference.- The teeth are very sharp at the points, but the points don't really make the wood cuts.- The blades are very flexible which would make them better suited for a handheld pull-cut saw rather than a power saw - this is very typical of Japanese style saws.- The blade cuts slow because to the aforementioned reasons.- The blades leave a very smooth sawn surface.- The blades are good quality and well-made.- The last listed price seems about average.I rate these as 4-stars only because they're slow cutting; the quality is fine.

These blades sure do look the part! The teeth are large, and feel very sharp right out of the package. I have some maple (which is pretty hard wood) that has been drying for a few months that I need to cut up, and I thought I'd test these blades out on that. Bear in mind that this maple is pretty stout stuff, and is quite dry at this point.... they did an ok job, but don't cut as fast or as easily as I expected given their size and shape. They do fit my reciprocating saw just fine, and lock into the blade holder really well. They appear to be durable, they don't bend easily, and they seem to hold an edge. They just don't cut as fast as other blades I've used in the past for the same job on the same wood from the same tree in my yard that I have to prune pretty much every year. They likely will perform much better on softer woods like pine or fir.... but on hard woods, be prepared to put some muscle behind your saw to get them to cut well.Still - they are pretty inexpensive at less than eighteen bucks at the time I ordered. That's a pretty good value, even if they don't cut quite as fast as I'm used to.

I had been using 9-inch blades until I recently found out that it is worth using longer blades that have Japanese teeth and an arc edge because you are much less likely to get stuck on sawdust, especially on the forward stroke.These 12-inch blades ended up being a really good size for the kind of pruning I usually do. They are longer than the 9-inch blades I had been using, but they still feel easy to control. They well-made and really sharp. The teeth cut through branches quickly, and the curved edge shape helped the blade not bounce around too much.I am really happy with another purchase from the SEDY brand. These 12 inch blades making cutting branches so much easier than my 9 inch pruning blades. The quality is great and they seem built to last through a lot of yard work. They are priced really well considering the quality and I would definitely recommend them.
