Very nice drive tools for your tap and dies. The tools are all very well made with high quality steel and are very durable. The ratcheting mechanism on the drive tool is very smooth and precise and moves easily while giving the proper amount of resistance to not feel sloppy. Fitment of everything is excellent, being tight enough to fit snugly without being so tight that it has to be pressed in or yanked out. This is part of SKs Chinese line of tools, as they are no longer making most of their stuff in the US, but their quality hasn't faltered and this is still an excellent tool kit at a really good value. If you don't already have taps and dies, go ahead and pick up the complete kit, as it is equally high quality. At the end of the day, you're getting a great quality, durable tool with precise engineering at a really good value. There's nothing not to love.

It's priced higher than I'd like for what it is and I almost want to drop a star for that, but everything is accurate about it. It has 72 teeth which maths out to a 5 degree arc but I don't believe that due to some of slop. However, when are you tapping something with a handle like this that you would require a 5 degree arc. There should be plenty of room to rotate it or you'd use a smaller handle.It is ergonomic and easy to use. It's nice to have a ratcheting style to keep things straighter. Rotating my wrist while keeping it level with a non ratcheting handle is always a tough task.The case is nice and holds things well with spots for everything. It should be a nice set to keep handy and make these type of jobs a little easier.

Let me start off first by saying, I have been using SK tools for well over 20 years and have always loved everything they have offered. I still have tools I bought off their tool truck that many years ago that I still use to this day. This is probably the first item I have been mildly disappointed in. Don't get me wrong, the amount of taps and dies you get with this kit is an amazing deal. Especially if you add in the ratcheting handle and other accessories. However the quality of the pieces in the set left me kind of wanting. I do think that it's worth the price and you're getting a good deal for what you pay for this kit. The issue I have is this is not normal quality for SK tools. The taps and the dies look to be a bit lower grade and probably mass produced compared to what you would get buying a quality high speed steel or Cobalt tap from other reputable brands. They definitely work good and they cut fairly decent threads. But they do not cut threads like I would expect SK tools branded taps would. They leave the threads a bit ragged and I can definitely tell I was close to snapping one tapping a half inch bolt hole the other day I to stainless. I didn't have any problems with the bolt fitting and threading into the hole. I could just tell that the threads are a bit ragged and it's just not a smooth perfect fit. The included ratchet handle is definitely one of the plus items In this set and is extremely useful and easy to use. You've got pretty much every metric and standard tap you could possibly need other than specialty taps. The said is very versatile for standard and metric. The case is another thing that left me wanting. It looks like it's mass produced and cheap and there's parts of the plastic that are still there from the molding and it doesn't hold the tools in right. Issues with them falling out when opening the case. It honestly doesn't even look like something I would think SK tools would make. I'm used to their stuff all being top shelf tool truck quality. This is not that. Even the thread pitch gauges look like they came out of The bargain bin. But reviewing it for what it is, a very large tap and die set with extremely nice ratcheting handle and other useful accessories. For that it is a good deal for the price even with the flaws I pointed out. I think maybe they were trying to appeal to people that don't want to spend as much money. That is great if they are trying to Branch off and have different grades of tools. I do think that they should acknowledge that and say this is pro grade and this is amateur grade or however they want to list it. Whatever it is this is not what I expect from the company and not what I have been using for well over 20 years.

There is so much to like about this tap and die drive set. First of all, it's a very solid and heavy made tool with adapters to fit both taps and dies. It all comes snugged securely in a nice metal storage box with a flip latch. I have quite a number of taps and dies that run from average to good quality, but I didn't have a good quality drive tool until now, and constantly had problems with the dies slipping in the wrench chuck. This SK fixed all of those problems. I'm a huge SK tool fan and own many; some of them for 50 years. I've never had any problems at all with any of them. This tool certainly looks to be true SK quality. The chuck grips the taps firmly and can be tightened or loosened by a simple thumb screw. The chuck snaps up into the center of the drive tool. The drive tool itself has large padded handles which are very comfortable to use. What I like most about the drive tool is that it is a reversible ratchet. That means that I can keep my hands in a comfortable position, where I have lots of leverage and balance instead of having to turn the drive tool round and round like my old drive tools do. This is such a better idea than the old way. The die drive tool is a simple socket that holds the dies and this tool also snaps into the ratchet. There is a hex wrench for tightening the dies inside the drive tool. Also included is a small T handle that can be used in the tap chuck if needed. I think that is to be used to get the tap lined up and started threading; then you switch to the large tool. This SK tool set is what I like to call "The Good Stuff" and as such the price is entirely reasonable.

This is a really nice tap and die set and has everything I would expect for general threading and thread repair work. Having both SAE and metric sizes in one organized set makes it much more convenient than having to hunt down individual taps and dies when a repair comes up.One of my favorite features is the included thread gauges. They are especially useful for quickly identifying the thread size and pitch before choosing the correct tap or die. That may seem like a small addition, but it makes the set much more practical and helps take some of the guesswork out of the job.The ratcheting T-handle is another nice feature, making it easier to work with the taps without constantly repositioning the handle. Everything feels like it belongs in a useful shop tool set rather than being a collection of pieces thrown together.Overall, this is a well-equipped set with a good variety of sizes and some thoughtful accessories. For anyone doing their own mechanical repairs, maintenance, fabrication, or general shop work, having this many options readily available is definitely convenient.

This doesn't have the highest quality finish bit it's pretty good. Handle looks nice, has a nice weight to it and easy to control. Out of the box the ratcheting mechanism has a bit of back drag but not bad. Tap adapter adjusts smoothly and holds securely. Comes in a nice metal case with foam cut outs to hold everything nicely. Overall this is a nice little kit and the design works well.
