This smart plug-in dual motion sensor RGBW stair lights by Ameistor can handle up to 12 stairs. Unfortunately, I have 14 including the top landing which is a floor and not a step really. I got around this be using an "always on" LED strip at the top and bottom that are independent of this set. My stairway is circular, actually more of a "U" shape and these cascading lights look stunning as they cascade up or down making the U bend. Since my steps are carpeted, I used aluminum channels which are pre-fastened through the carpet into the wood behind. I brought all of the wiring from underneath the steps into the channels and they look very lean and professional. It took a considerable amount of time, but time well spent. The price is not inexpensive but the beautiful results justify, nakin this set a good value. Probably a little pricy for what it actually is but seems to be in line with all the other purpose built stair kits. They do work great and produce a lot of light. The steps are individually addressable so you can set each step to a different color. Plenty of presets in the app as well.Cable management is a bit of a mess. Depending on how your stairs are built you may be able to tuck the lines into cracks or hide behind trim pieces (add trim after or temporarily remove what you got). If not it's not the cleanest look. Cables are white so if you don't have white walls it's a lot going on, especially since this one comes with motion sensor triggers that need to be placed at the top and bottom to turn the lights on and off as you make your accent/descent.You do not have to do rainbow. You can get a nice classy or even futuristic look using white mode.My full recommendation would be to plan for this in a new stair build or renovation project and not as quick add on to existing stairs. You really need a recessed lip, perfect power access, and hidden wire traces to get these installed properly.Nothing about how it is presented or feels suggest the price tag. Not premium...

This stair lighting kit is really a nice way to had both safety and a modern look to a staircase. I like that it is include individual portable light strings for up to 12 stairs so you can get a cleaner custom fit instead of running one long string along the wall, the dual motion sensor are exceptionally useful because the light can activate whether you are coming from the top or bottom of the stairs. It was a little difficult to install, so please read instruction carefully.

I installed this stair light system. it has completely transformed our staircase. The cascading light effect is absolutely gorgeous. it creates a welcoming, high-end feel that guests always comment on. Having the dual motion sensors is incredibly convenient. the lights turn on automatically whether you're going up or down. no more fumbling for switches in the dark. The app control is fantastic, giving me the ability to choose from millions of colors, adjust brightness, or set timers. We love using the RGB colors for holidays and parties. the warm white 3000K is perfect for everyday use. The cut-to-fit strips made installation straightforward, even with my slightly irregular stairs. The plug-in design meant no hardwiring. Just a heads-up – this is definitely for hard-surface stairs only, as the adhesive needs a smooth surface to grip. At this price point, it's a bit of an investment, but for the quality and the dramatic effect, I think it's well worth it.

I've always liked the look of individually illuminated stairs, but I didn't want a system that required me to start cutting into walls or running complicated wiring just to get the effect. This Ameistor kit gives you that cascading stair lighting look while keeping the installation relatively straightforward.The dual motion sensors are probably my favorite part. Having a sensor at both the top and bottom means the lights know when you're approaching the staircase from either direction. Instead of every light simply turning on at once, the cascading effect follows the direction you're traveling. It looks really cool, but it's also genuinely useful at night when I don't necessarily want to turn on all the regular lights.I also appreciate that these are RGBW rather than just RGB strips. For everyday use I prefer the dedicated 3000K warm white because it looks much more natural as pathway lighting. Then I can switch over to colors and effects when I actually want them for holidays, parties, or just because I'm in the mood to make the stairs look ridiculous in a good way.The app gives you quite a bit of control over the colors, brightness, effects, and timing. Once I had everything configured the way I wanted, there really wasn't much reason to keep messing with it.Installation takes some planning because you're dealing with 12 separate steps and you want everything routed neatly. I strongly recommend laying everything out and testing the entire system before permanently sticking anything down. The 47-inch strips can be cut at the designated locations, which helps considerably if your stairs aren't anywhere near that wide.The adhesive also needs a clean, smooth surface, and I agree with the listing that this really isn't designed for carpeted stairs. On wood, tile, or another smooth surface it makes much more sense.My only minor complaint is that there's naturally a fair amount of wiring involved with individually lighting 12 stairs. It's not particularly difficult, but getting the installation to look professional takes more time than simply getting it to work.Overall: I really like this stair lighting system. The directional cascading effect looks great, the two motion sensors make it useful from either end of the staircase, and having a real warm-white channel means it works just as well as practical nighttime lighting as it does for colorful effects. Installation requires a little patience if you want all the wiring hidden nicely, but once it's finished, the result is worth the effort.

The RGBW lighting gives you plenty of color options while still providing a normal white light for everyday use. App control is a nice bonus for adjusting the colors and settings. It’s a well thought out kit that is close to being worth the price point. My issue I’m working through is how to hide the wire that connect each stair strip. Unless you’re ok with seeing wires connect each step it’s a bit of a problem unless you can come from under the stairs which is what I’m considering. All of their AI generated photos are unrealistic as you cant see a single wire, which you can accomplish under the stairs but not really possible where they all connect.

i wasn't sure if these were going to work at my house - as there aren't really outlets close to stairs for plugging in - but i decided to replace my single strip rechargeable stair lights to the basement with these. using a small extension cord, i took my time setting these up (they do take time at first, and need patience).pros: amazingly good sensors from the top or bottom, with options for different types of light-ups (not just color changes). i liked some of the other ones (steps change quickly, turn off quickly) but the most practical one is the cascade effect, which lights up one by one from the side the sensor was triggered, and then all of them stay lit for 45 seconds or a minute. my cats were also amused too, though - gratefully they decided not to play a bunch on the steps. i also like the different color options, and the white lights up brightly too.cons: the sticky pads to affix these to the steps didn't work super well and there were way too few in the box. plan to add a lot of other sticky tack or tape. i also had 11 stairs instead of 12, but it wasn't a big deal, j just ran a strip up the wall on the top step, but it's also possible to just not have a stair stip plugged in i think. these are definitely expensive but very cool, and the price is consistent with others out there. i don't love using my phone /app to control and wish it came with a remote, but otherwise - big fans all around

I was trying to fashion it to work in my kitchen under cabinets somehow. The electrical cord would be very visible so I have not figured out how to use it in my one story house, though a light up wall would be cool
