It does not work on hard materials such as metal, glass, solid hardwood, stone, highly textured materials, etc.The handle is comfortable to use and easy to get a stable grip on. The blade is very sharp. This trimmer also comes with an additional blade, and the blades are sharpenable as needed. This tool is so much easier to use than a router, utility knife or hand file. It works great!

This is a pretty well made tool with a thick blade that should hold an edge well. It comes with a spare blade, but I can't imagine the original ever wearing down under normal use. The handle is reasonably comfortable and it does the job nicely. What keeps it from 5 stars are the absurd instructions that come with it. They tell you nothing. They talk about rounding over the edge with a 1.5 mm and a 2mm setting, but there is no explanation of what that is or how to use it. There are slots on the side of the blade labeled 1.5 and 2, so I'm guessing a little about what they are talking about, but I'm not certain and that function of the tool will be my best guess and trial and error. It's a shame, because the tool isn't that complex and probably a paragraph or two of reasonable instructions would have lifted this to 5 stars. If you don't need instructions then it gets 5 stars.
