I had a different set of 5-grid hex lights that were rated somewhat brighter than these at a similar price. Unfortunately, I had an accident in the attic and put my foot through the drywall they were attached to. Thanks to my mistake, only about 8 sections survived, which is certainly not enough for my needs. The EZYEVY looks almost identical to my previous set, but they are not interchangeable. I put one hex grid together and tried it out. I was surprised at the brightness of the 16800LM as my old set was 24000LM. I did not notice much difference, so starting building the whole thing. The one thing I should caution about is that they claim that the lights "lock" into the corner pieces that are used to connect the power as well as for mounting. While the fitment is tight, it does not truly lock. My first attempt to mount the whole grid was a mess since the lights came apart. I did not make the same mistake this time. I went with the design that looks like the picture, with 2 hexes, then a middle, then 2 more. I mounted the first set of two, then built is outward to the right, securing each hex as I went along. It was much easier that way, though I admit, I did not mount them evenly. Of course, Car and Driver is not coming to look at my garage, so I can live with it. As you can see, it is a very stylish and bright set-up. The best part is that the light is even in the front of the garage, meaning that it does not cast annoying shadows like your typical 4' shop light. I am thinking about getting another set for the ceiling closer to the garage door. At $63 a 5-grid set, you cannot go wrong with these lights. I love them and will not ever go back to single lights again.

No, the ends do not need to be closed to be used. This means that you can , theoretically, make a molecule or other shapes out of this kit.It's a big kit as is and capable of connecting 84 tubes together per power point. Only 26 tubes come in this kit.Installation is really easy. The tubes go into the connectors. The connectors have the mounting points. the power point goes into a connector. It's not very complex.The only real problem is that it feels flimsy when assembled. That's not a problem, once installed. It's only a problem when moving it.

These garage lights are amazing. I turned my garage into a man cave and I wanted to add something unique and attractive.They came packaged pretty good. There are a lot pieces but they are pretty easy to put together. I would suggest to read the instructions through completely first, and then follow them step by step to better your understanding of the various parts.It’s made of a plastic that’s not cheap. But you want to make sure that you don’t step on them. It will break. It comes with a 2 standard plugs to power it up. I wanted to go with a cleaner look so I brought power to the ceiling and installed a receptacle to plug it into.You can also use your garage door opener receptacle to plug them into if you have one, and layout the lights so the plugs can reach it.Overall, this is a great light that will add style and decor to any room that you install it in. The price is reasonable.

Once they're on, you're not squinting to find a dropped screw in the corner of the garage — if anything, I found myself looking away from them at first, they're that intense straight-on. For a workshop or detailing setup, that kind of even, shadow-free coverage is exactly the point, and on that front they deliver.Assembly and mounting were straightforward, and everything has worked without issue since I put it up. My gripe is entirely with how they expect you to get power to the thing. In the box you get a standard wall plug and a separate bare-wire lead — no in-between option. That means if you want this on a wall switch instead of an outlet, you're stuck routing that bare lead into a plug adapter yourself, since there's no rear connection point built into the fixture. And if you'd rather hardwire it properly into a ceiling box, there's no cover plate included to finish that off cleanly. It works, but it feels like a step was left out of the design — a simple rear terminal and a junction box cover would've made this a much more polished install instead of the makeshift wiring job it currently requires.Bottom line: excellent output and solid build, but budget some extra time (and maybe an extra part or two) for the electrical hookup if you're not just plugging it straight into a wall outlet.

The honeycomb design intrigued me, so I wanted to experience one firsthand.I haven't decided on a permanent location yet. Fortunately, the modular design makes experimenting with different locations practical. I assembled the entire system in my living room for an initial test.The assembly process impressed me almost as much as the lighting. The individual LED sections connect easily and form a surprisingly rigid structure once assembled. From start to finish, my entire test took only about 30 to 45 minutes. That included assembly, plugging it in, taking pictures, disassembly, and neatly putting everything away again.Once illuminated, the brightness is impressive. The 6500K light produces a crisp, daylight-white appearance with excellent coverage. The geometric pattern also gives the fixture a distinctive, modern appearance.I especially like the installation versatility.
