Safety and durability is a major plus for these bulbs, but they can’t be used in lamps or outdoors under cover. Also, for cost and longevity, they are equal to LED bulbs. That’s the short version of this review. Read on if you want more specifics on how I value their use in my household.Plastic bulbs were completely off the radar for me until I saw this multi-pack listing. With the promise of less likelihood of potentially dangerous and costly breakage of glass bulbs, I had to try them. Up to this point I’d been using glass LED 40-watt Edison bulbs for mood lighting in our sconces all over the house. They perform well for dimming and fit the design ethic of our rustic home. They don’t fare well for ambiance against incandescent bulbs which I tested last month, but it’s not a fair comparison as incandescent bulbs are made for soft color versatility. There are many downsides to incandescent bulbs but they beat all the others in warmth. Here was my chance to test a product that promises to be safer and cooler, and perform at least as well as LED Edisons, especially since this pack is very competitively compared with similar LEDs.I did an unequal comparison between 40-watt LED Edisons and these 60-watt versions in a sconce. Both bulbs are clear, with Edison filaments. These bulbs, at 60 watts, are naturally brighter, but I was surprised by the glass LED’s slightly softer lighting color. The first picture shows the LED and the other is the plastic bulb. They are rated the same warmth: 2700K. I suppose that is to be expected because it’s not a fair head-to-head comparison between a 40-watt and a 60-watt bulb. The plastic bulbs have a slightly greater range between full brightness and total dimming. Also in their favor: they stay much cooler in the socket than either incandescent or LED bulbs, and that is a big deal along with their durable plastic shells. Besides having a special plastic outer bulb made of shatterproof and heat-resistant polymer shell, the filaments are made of a special LED strip that emulates the more fragile filaments in the other bulbs with less chance of breaking. I don’t completely understand the technicality of that aspect, but the proof will come when these bulbs get their full test over time. This pack contains a more esthetically pleasing slightly elliptical styling which is a great fit for our 3 pendant lights over the bar area, where the bulb plays a prominent role in the design. These Edisons are not rated for covered outdoor spaces, unlike the LED Edisons. I don’t know if that’s a difference between the medium or the construction properties. At any rate, I got these for use in internal lighting, mostly sconces and pendants, which we have a lot of. For the safety and durability of these alone, they are likely to have an increasing future in our household. I wish I could use them in lamps, but we are covered in that department for now. Hopefully the state of technology will eventually catch up and these will be more widely useable. Overall, these are a great value and a real win for us, and I can’t wait to get a set of 40-watt bulbs to try.

These bulbs are very small and don't put out the amount of light that 60 watts usually has. I replaced four bulbs in a small bath with these, and the room feels dark. There's no reason to dim them! Normally, I'd need to dim 240 watts! But they do dim as promised--if you want a night light....I will keep these for something. But I don't recommend them.

This is a review of the "12 Pack Vintage LED Edison Light Bulbs, Dimmable LED Filament Bulbs, E26 Base, 60W Equivalent, 800 LM, 2700K Warm White, CRI90+, Shatterproof, Decorative Light Bulbs for Home Lighting, Bedroom,Kitchen" that was priced at $17.99 at the time of this review.I bought these primarily for decorative fixtures where the bulbs are visible, and they do a nice job capturing the classic Edison bulb appearance while offering the efficiency of LED lighting. The 2700K color temperature produces a warm, inviting glow that works especially well in living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and vintage-style fixtures. The filament design looks attractive when the bulbs are exposed, making them a good choice for pendant lights, sconces, and open-frame lamps. One thing I particularly like is the shatterproof construction. Since these use a plastic housing instead of glass, they feel more durable and less prone to accidental breakage during installation or cleaning. The dimming function worked well with compatible dimmers, allowing the brightness to be adjusted smoothly without noticeable flickering. For decorative lighting applications, that flexibility is a nice feature. The value is also excellent. Getting a full 12-pack for under $20 makes these very economical, especially when replacing multiple bulbs throughout the house.Overall, these are attractive vintage-style LED bulbs that provide warm light, good color quality, and excellent value. For decorative use, they look great and offer the benefits of modern LED technology without sacrificing the classic Edison bulb aesthetic.

My favorite feature of these bulbs is definitely the energy savings. Getting 60W of brightness for 6W of energy bill is a big, big win. Also, doing this from a bulb rated at 20,000 hours of lifetime is wonderful. This is where these bulbs really shine. (pun #1)I really appreciate that LED options come in so many colors, including the shade of this lamp (pun #2). I absolutely have use cases for the bright white/blue light from some products, like outdoor pathway lighting. But for the bedroom or the living room, I absolutely prefer a lamp shade (pun #3), as with these bulbs. The compatibility built-in for dimmers really works. I used these in a dim-able bedroom lamp and found that they work from the barest amount of current I can feed to them, all the way up to full blast. I've included pictures below to show minimum output (on the left) (just a fraction of 6W) all the way to full blast (on the right). Clearly, this is not bright white, but a warm, cozy shade that I find perfect for the bedroom.I will caution that other reviews that describe these bulbs as "unbreakable" are mistaken. I've dropped one on a wood floor from about 4 feet and it absolutely shattered. Now, you're picking up plastic pieces, not glass, so your injury risk is way down.Bottom line, these are visually appealing, smart consumer options for the home at a very reasonable cost. I would definitely order these again (if I *ever* run out).

Depending on the quality of light you prefer, these energy saving bulbs are a great value. Although the base fits most standard sockets, the amber light these bulbs cast won't match standard bulbs, which are much whiter. You can see the difference in my photos. Used separately, the effect is romantic. Dimmed to low it simulates candlelight. This is not work light, but lovely for bedrooms and transitioning to sleep after the eyestrain of computer screens and iPhones.
