If you over-extend the mechanism, retracting it just a tiny bit is tricky; it tends to snap all the way back to zero, forcing you to start over. It’s also a bit pricey. However, despite these minor frustrations, I would absolutely buy it again. The safety upgrade is worth every penny—this likely saved me from a bad fall. It’s not perfect, but I genuinely love it.

Easy to assemble. It’s pretty heavy and heavy duty quality. The material is nicely coated. The stops and non slip bottom work well ensuring user safety. Just what I needed to reach the upper portion of our landing to finish paining. Good value

The included gloves were a thoughtful addition, although they seem sized for a child and definitely won't fit most adult men or women.One detail I really appreciate is the included non-slip surfaces. There are rubber pads on both the bottom support and the ladder contact point, which helps protect finished flooring while also providing a grippy surface for the ladder to sit on. That added traction helps prevent movement and inspires more confidence when working on uneven terrain.I also like that it doesn't require permanently modifying the ladder and can be installed or removed as needed. One thing to be aware of is that you'll need a fairly narrow ladder for this to work properly, so it's worth verifying compatibility before ordering.This is one of those tools you may not need often, but when you do, it can make ladder setup much easier and safer. The things we have done to balance a ladder on stairs over the years is honestly a little embarrassing in hindsight. Bricks, pieces of wood, whatever we could find to prop one side up. Somehow nobody got hurt and I am very grateful for that because the setups we created were not exactly OSHA approved.This leveler is so simple and so much safer than anything we were doing before. Clamps on easily, adjusts to the height you need and feels really solid once it is locked in. The ladder does not wobble and you are not constantly second guessing whether your DIY solution is going to hold.This should be in every toolbox and probably should have been in ours a long time ago. Easy to use and genuinely makes a difference in how confident you feel on the ladder.

The assembly is straightforward, but the screws required a considerable amount of torque to get them to thread into three of the four bolts (which are welded in place). I suspect there is just extra paint filling the bolt threads. I experimented several times to assure that I wasn't cross-threading them because that is what it felt like. Even after setting the screws completely and removing them, resetting them requires an unusual amount of torque.It is very easy to adjust the height of the leg, but the minimum height is over 13 inches. This will work fine for a standard residential stairway in the US, but for any non-standard stairway (thinking of exterior sidewalk stairways) it will be too much. The Listing says this is for stair and uneven ground, and I ordered it with an eye to exterior work on my house. However, seeing it in person, I am skeptical that it is sturdy enough to be used on uneven ground. The base of the leg is quite large and will itself be dealing with uneven ground. In general, it isn't as solid as I was expecting, but I am confident it will be fine on stairs. I just don't think it will work very often for dealing with uneven ground.
