I ordered this kit to boost the quality of the electrical work I am doing in our greenhouse. Subsequently, I tested it on 14 and 12 AWG wires.The impact resistant plastic case it ships in is actually sturdy and effective for organizing the ferrules and tool.The crimping tool itself is smooth in function, ergonomic, and the ratcheting action makes it easy to squeeze.They provide a mind boggling variety of ferrules of different sizes and types. The helpful guide in the lid of the case made it fast to select a good ferrule for the 12 AWG wire I was experimenting with.You can see in the last pictures the results of my test. I originally stripped too much insulation from the wire, but used side cutters to trim it flush with the ferrule after crimping. Problem solved.The price is a little high, but certainly fair considering all that is included. The tool is high quality, after all.

This crimping tool kit works really well for small wiring jobs. The tool feels solid and is easy to use without needing a lot of effort. It's hard not to give this kit five stars. Everything I received matches the description, and the crimper itself works exactly as it should. The 8-sided crimp produces a clean, tight ferrule, and the lever action makes it easy enough to use without fighting the tool.The included assortment of ferrules is a big part of the value here. Having both single- and twin-wire ferrules in multiple sizes means you can actually put the tool to work without immediately having to purchase additional supplies. The carrying case is also useful for keeping everything together.At around $29 on sale, this is a very good value for a complete kit.The tool feels solid, the handles provide a good grip, and I have no complaints about its operation or the assortment of ferrules included.Yep, the kit and crimper tool do what they're supposed to do, and the kit comes with a substantial supply of ferrules.

This crimping tool produces an extremely secure crimp when used with the correct ferrule and wire size. The finished crimp is octagonal in shape and, being nearly round, fits very well into the appropriate terminal block.The kit includes 1,285 ferrules in various sizes for wire ranging from 22 AWG to 7 AWG, including six sizes of twin ferrules for terminating two wires together.The crimping tool is well made and has worked exactly as designed on every crimp I’ve made. It automatically applies the proper crimp and releases when the crimping cycle is complete, without requiring adjustments for each wire size or leaving me to guess whether the crimp is adequate.The crimping pressure can be increased or decreased, although according to the instructions, adjustment is usually not necessary. I found the factory setting to be more than adequate for the crimps I made.The amount of hand pressure required seems to vary slightly between the smallest and largest wire sizes. That observation is more of an “I think that took a little more effort” impression than anything I actually measured. In any event, the tool is comfortable to hold and easy to operate with one hand.The attached video demonstrates the crimping process and shows the octagonal crimp produced by the tool. The finished ferrule holds the wire very securely.I’m impressed with both the tool and the results it produces. Combined with the large assortment of ferrules included in the organized storage case, this is a very useful kit to have in the shop.

My favorite thing about this kit? I really like the twin insulated ferrules. Really nice to have in certain uses.My least favorite thing? No 8AWG ferrules. It has 7AWG ferrules but here in the States, 7AWG is almost never used. We use 8AWG.Fortunately, I have a box of 8AWG ferrules I had to get for a very similar ferrule kit I already had.The 6 sided crimp is a nice feature. Better fit in round holes.The crimper itself is adjustable and easy to figure out and use. Solidly built and smooth operation.Comes in a plastic case with compartments for the various sizes. Everything is easy to find.Good deal for a very useful product. Easy to recommend.
