This landscape transformer feels very solid and well made, especially for the price. The metal housing is sturdy and weatherproof, so I feel comfortable having it installed outdoors with my landscape lighting. Setup was straightforward, and I really like having both the timer and photocell sensor so the lights can come on automatically at night without having to mess with them every day. The 12V and 14V options are also helpful depending on the lighting setup and distance. It has been running my outdoor lights consistently without any issues, and the controls are simple to understand and adjust. For the price, the quality and features are excellent, and it feels comparable to more expensive transformers I've looked at. Overall, it's a great value and a convenient upgrade for an outdoor lighting system.

We got this Wilawels low-voltage landscape transformer after a lightning strike zapped our existing one. Our old one was plastic, and it literally got blasted apart. We saw this one and decided to give it a try. When comparing it to the units at the big home stores, this one is very solidly built and heavy duty compared to the others we’ve seen. It has a nice, metal enclosure.It has a long terminal block so I didn't have to have multiple runs tied in on the same posts. There are more places to wire into instead of doubling up, so that's very functional. Everything is easy to connect. The instructions were fine but being familiar with the install process, I didn't really use them.It comes with a screw hole template which was much appreciated… especially when drilling into brick. I also really appreciate the little rubber cap that goes with the light sensor. When you are conducting testing when replacing lights, you can easily turn the lights onand keep them on by using the cap so you don't have to run around the house trying to beat the timer to check the lights.The controls are intuitive and very responsive. It's a good value in that it’s a similar price to the big home stores, but better quality due to the metal.

This is a safe reliable way to power up low voltage lights, like WS2811 outdoor holiday lights, and or landscaping lights.I've been using the non waterproof transformer bricks and keeping them in waterproof outdoor boxes, but I have ended up spending a lot more, the boxes alone are a lot and the sun damages them, they leak, and moisture gets in. Also those ones are not very reliable.This unit is really well built, very solid, and also very heavy. It comes with an easy to attach guide so you can have it up on a wall within minutes, very simple to install. The LED screen is really helpful and the options for timer, 6 lighting modes, the dawn to dusk option with a photo sensor that is on a cord so you can get it in the right position. The bottom where the wires go are easy and secure, but to be on the extra safe side I added some hot glue around the wiring once it was placed, just to keep moisture out, and if need it's easy to pull off. This powers a whole house of 12 volt LED WS2811 lights, easily does 9 strings of lights, and I inject power at both sides. With that I don't need to get the brightest white so this power transformer is perfect. It's very durable and I expect it to last years compared to the others, and that makes it very worth the money, you don't need to spend on waterproof boxes.

From the moment I took the new Wilawels 300 low voltage landscape transformer out of the box I got the impression that it was sturdy and well built. The unit is ETL listed, waterproof, self-contained and basically requires you hook up your landscape wiring runs, mount the transformer on the side of the house (two screws included), plug it in and program it. The hook up and programing directions that came with the unit are easy to understand. One can also find several YouTube videos that take you through a step by step set-up process.The unit has all the features you need to automatically run your outdoor lighting. It provides 12V and 14V outputs which are convenient for short and longer outdoor lighting runs. There is room for three separate lighting runs.The unit also provides several programming options. You can use the timer function to turn the unit on and off at specified set times. You can also use the built-in photo sensor to turn the unit on and off at sunset and sunrise. A combination of the two setup modes is also conveniently available by using the built-in countdown timer that will turn the unit on at dusk and off 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours later. This is especially useful if you live in a development where there are restrictions on how late landscape lighting can remain on.There are two capabilities that this transformer doesn’t provide. The first is smart WiFi control capabilities. This can be easily rectified by installing a WiFi controlled electrical outlet to plug in the unit. The other minor issue is the inability to independently program multiply lines in a multiply landscape lighting configuration. All lines will turn on and off at the same time.Overall, the unit appears well built, easy to install and is available at a good price for the quality and capabilities it provides.
