I really like the look of this floor lamp. The black marble finish gives it a modern, elegant feel, and the 59" height works nicely next to my furniture. It adds a warm touch to the room and feels well made. I’m taking off one star because it could be a little sturdier, but overall I’m happy with it.

This adjustable reading lamp stand measured 56 inches in height. It was easy and quick to assemble, and I had all 6 pieces together in about 2 minutes. The lamp looked very attractive with its black metal, wooden texture, and black and white cord sheath. The base was heavy and wide, so it stood firm and sturdy. It came with 1 black clip to hold the cord to the stand, and I easily adjusted it by turning a knob to unclamp and slide it where needed. The metal shade adjusted to a point. It pointed straight out at 180 degrees, but it did not adjust 90 degrees down or 90 degrees up. I could move it all the way down low to the ground, which gave it a really unique look and brought the light low. The black metal and wood texture looked very modern and stylish. With the swivel range limited, I felt the value for money was in its vertical adjustment ease, aesthetics, and build.

Overview: Very aesthetically pleasing lamp. It can blend well with any kind of decor which means it versatile. The light it provides is great for mood lighting, or reading in your favorite chair.Pros: the base of the lamp is heavy making it hard to knock over. The adjustability of the lamp head is good, the shape can be point up or down and the height of the head can be moved up or down as well for more or less light. The lamp chord is nice looking as well.Cons: the switch is too far down the cord in my opinion. Should be closer to the lamp base so that more cord can be hidden to prevent tripping and to avoid a messy look with a cord. There is only one cord clamp at the top of the lamp, which means the rest of the is freely flowing which takes away from the “neat,” aesthetic of the lamp. Definitely needs a couple more cord clips to tame the cord. It’s also a little shorter than I personally expected but that’s just due to my lack of using a measuring device to see just how tall it might be.

We really like this lamp! We had a very old (okay, ancient) adjustable one that was similar to this several years ago and it became wobbly on the base and then the socket broke and the cord frayed, so we had to retire it. I tried a couple of different table lamps to replace it, but most table lamps aren't tall enough and can't be positioned the way we need for us to be able to read or for me to be able to knit or crochet. We also only have one end table, so the old lamp was only light for one person. This one is absolutely perfect for what we need. We have a sectional sofa and have placed this lamp behind the corner of the sofa so that it provides enough light to for someone to be able to sit on either section without having to re-aim it one way or the other. It doesn't illuminate the entire sofa, by any means, but we don't need it to do that. With a 60 watt bulb, it's enough light to cover where two people can sit and read or stitch. It can be raised or lowered on the stand to suit whatever intensity or light focus we need, and the shade rotates if we do want to aim the light to a different area of the sofa or the room. This lamp also eliminates the need to keep the overhead lights on all the time, which we try to avoid because the room has a 16-foot high ceiling that requires scaffolding for anyone to change out bulbs in the can lights. My only critique is that I wanted to put a daylight LED bulb in this lamp, but the wattage of the bulb is too high, so I put a clear incandescent bulb in it and that works just fine for enough light. It was totally brainless to assemble--screw the pieces together, put in a bulb, plug it into a wall socket, and step on the switch. It took me longer to locate a light bulb than it did to unpackage and put the entire lamp together. Speaking of of the switch, I really appreciate being able to just walk behind the sofa and step on a button, rather than having to pull the cord up and find a toggle somewhere or fumble for a switch on the lamp. The cord is nice and long and there's a hook to secure it to the stand portion of the lamp. The base weighs about 10 lbs, so unless you have kids kung fu fighting around your lamp, it's going to stay upright. Most pets probably wouldn't be able to knock it over, and compared to the base, the stand and the shade are relatively lightweight and would most like cause little damage if it did tip. We ordered the wood effect style and really like it--it looks modern and warm and kind of disappears into the rest of the room. As floor lamps go, for the quality and design of this lamp, the price point is extremely reasonable, especially with a one-year warranty and the regular E26 socket that will take any standard base light bulb. You won't have to spend extra money on expensive halogen bulbs that don't last (been there, done that) or hard-to-find decorative bulbs with odd base sizes. This was a perfect replacement for our old floor lamp and a lovely addition to our living room. Highly recommend.

Bought 2 for our living room. Appreciate the sleek, simple design. Perfect reading light. Love that we can adjust the height for the space and use. Base is weighted well, animals cannot knock it over. Great value.
