I never changed my filter before.I never changed my filter before.

[Set name: 38754-2, Set name: 38754-2]
I've had my Craftsman Wet-Dry Vac for years. I just emptied it the other day after using it and realized that there was a filter in the chamber that I forgot existed. The filter was sitting at the bottom of the bin when I opened the canister. I hadn't empty the vacuum in quite awhile. I'm glad I did because I was basically using the vacuum without a filter. I decided it was time for a replacement. The SwellV is a perfect replacement for my vacuum. It is nearly identical to the original one that came with the vacuum, even down the red stripe around the middle. The SwellV filter is high quality and I love the fact that it is washable and reusable. With 2 filters in the box I won't forget about the fact that there is a filter in the vacuum, the other one will always be there to remind me.Installing the SwellV filter is easy. In most cases you would first need to remove the old filter by simply pulling it off. In my case the filter was already off and in the bin, so it wasn't necessary. Take the new filter out of the plastic bag, center it over the vacuum column and push it down unto the little nub that sticks out into the hole at the bottom of the unit. I had to use a little bit of pressure, but I'm hoping that was good thing. Hopefully this filter won't fall off and end up in the dust bin. After installation, I turned on the vacuum and it worked perfectly. This is a good deal for the price.

Fits Ridgid shop vac with easy modification

[Set name: 38754-2]
My husband assumed that Craftsman and Ridgid shop vacs utilized the same filters. They do not – but this filter was easily modified to make it fit our 14 gal Ridgid. The center hole in the rubber that fits over the flared center pin measures ½" on this filter. Using a utility knife, he easily enlarged the filter’s hole to 5/8" to make it fit our Ridgid. Also, this filter is approx ½" shorter compared to the Ridgid OEM – but it still works. My husband states he “would have no problem” using this modified filter in place of one with Ridgid’s specs. These red stripe filters appear to be good quality. No holes or defects in the paper pleats. Easy installation, even when making the above modifications. They will be used for sawdust, dirt and small debris in our home shop. This is advertised as a “wet/dry” filter. The online description states it can be rinsed clean for reuse but must be allowed to thoroughly dry (I haven’t tested this claim). As a general precaution, if using filters like this one for wet vacuuming, the paper will collapse and deform as paper loses its rigidity. Therefore, it will only be used for dry vacuuming around our shop. Those with Craftsman shop vacs will likely be very pleased with these filters. Happily, all is not lost for those with Ridgid vacs who mistakenly order these filters: they can be easily modified to make them work.

Nice Filter. Fits PerfectlyNice Filter. Fits Perfectly

[Set name: 38754-2, Set name: 38754-2]
I wasn’t so sure about a no name filter, but it fits my Craftsman shop vac perfectly and is a great replacement for my old dirty ones. Nice quality pleated paper filter and the rubber ends seal well. The rubber ends extend to the edge of the pleats which makes the filter much stiffer than the old one I am replacing.

Great Alternative to OEMGreat Alternative to OEM

[Set name: 38754-2, Set name: 38754-2]
The appearance and construction are as good as any you'll find at big box. I actually put this on my Ridgid 12 gallon shop vac that normally uses a VF5000 filter. This filter is NOT an exact fit for my Ridgid but it does work. The hole on this one is about 1/2" vs 9/16" for the VF5000 and the overall length is 7-13/16" for this one and 8-1/2" for the VF5000. The overall length didn't present any problem at all on the Ridgid and since the cap is rubber the smaller hole wasn't a problem either - you just need to press is on a little harder over the threaded retention shaft. Overall this seems a great filter. While I didn't verify fit on a Craftsman vac I can say that it does work on a Ridgid in a pinch.

Fits My Old Craftsman Shop VacFits My Old Craftsman Shop Vac

[Set name: 38754-2, Set name: 38754-2]
Pack Replacement Filter for Craftsman CMXZVBE38754, Red Stripe General | Filter for Most 5 to 20 Gallon Shop VacuumsI have an older Sears Craftsman shop vac (113.177890), and I was hoping this filter would fit it. The filter fit my vacuum just fine, but there wasn’t any way to secure the filter to the threaded shaft in the center. The current style filter I am using has a different way of securing the filter. I bought a 7/16”-14 nut from the hardware store for less than a dollar, and now it works great. If you have the old Craftsman white nylon 7/16”-14 nut, that will fit perfectly with this filter also. The filter seems to be of the same quality as the original Craftsman filters I have used in the past, and the suction is the same. Very happy with the product.

Very happy with these filters.

I own a Craftsman 12-gallon shop vac that I've had for over 30 years. As a testament to its' quality, I'm still using the original filter. I've been wanting to change it for years but we live in the middle of nowhere and didn't have a local Craftsman-selling store and my vac does not have a serial number on it anywhere to try to be certain of ordering the right replacement online. Recently we got a new Ace hardware in town so was able to take my old filter in and get some help finding the correct replacement. These filters have changed in design significantly over the years but they did show me one that could work. Unfortunately, it sells for 28 dollars. I elected instead to give this a trial from Amazon Vine and it fits great. Even with the filter changes/differences compared to the original it still fits and functions well. Unsurprisingly, much improved suction compared to the old ancient filter. Seems just as well made as OEM version. Price can't be beat considering that two filters come in the package and is still cheaper than one Craftsman OEM.

Nice filters- did not fit vacuum that was actually listed in the item details though.

2 Pack Replacement Filter for Craftsman We’re well made and felt like quality materials were used to make the filters. I was not able to use the filters as they were too long to close the one vacuum and too small to fit the sleeve of the other. The description did list one the vacuums I own and I thought it would work, but it did not fit. So I tried with 3 different vacuums (woodworking workshop) and unfortunately it would not work in any of the vacuums. It is a nice set of filters and for the price I think it’s a good deal as long as it works size wise. I ended up modifying the length and reattaching the base to get it to fit but I still was not happy with the outcome. Install is easy if you have the specific vacuum this fits, even if it states your vacuum I learned that that may not be accurate in the listing unfortunately.

Nearly perfect fit in my Craftsman 16 galNearly perfect fit in my Craftsman 16 gal

They work. They are not quite a perfect fit, but nearly. Most importantly, they work. If you look at the pictures (the dirty one is an OEM filter) you can see a difference on the base. They were a little bit of a tight fit, but they did push on and seal well enough. But the bottom is a little different. My vacuum originally had the white plastic "spinner" type nut to hold the filter on. My last OEM filter had a different base and came with a slip on type nut that will not work with this filter, although it fits on there so tightly, I'm not sure it needs a nut at all. Fortunately, I'd kept the spinner nut and was able to just use it. With that type nut, it works fine. If you've got that round, black push on, it won't really work to hold it on, but again it's so tight I'm not sure it needs a nut at all. The filters look to be of similar density and perform equally well, although as you can tell, my old one was so dirty, it's apples and oranges. IF you've got that white, spinner type nut, these should work fine at a much better price than OEM.
